Experience was great. Seated immediately. Waiter responded quickly, took order but brought appetizer, soup and salad all at the same time. Had to remind waiter about several things throughout the dinner but overall he did well. Dinner (prime rib and new York steak) was well prepared and tasteful.

Four of us went to Peerless on a Monday in July for the hamburger special. We were seated immediately, and our server was fantastic even though we ordered the least expensive item available. Having a reservation was a better experience than a previous effort to dine at Peerless a few months ago, when we weren't willing to wait for 45 minutes to be served. We just went to the restaurant next door.

Peerless has multiple rooms so it is now my "go-to" for small business meetings/group trainings in Knoxville. It was very easy to reserve a room. The food was very good and the service was just right. Our waiter left us alone enough to have the privacy that we needed to conduct business, but was available when we needed him.

The building and decor was very, very nice, but the food did not rise to that standard. My husband had the beef fajitas, the steak was cooked properly, but the vegetables were so over-cooked he didn't eat them. (Both the pepper/onion mix that came with the fajitas and the side dish of vegetables.) On my order, the chicken breast was very dry and over cooked, and the side dish vegetables were so over-cooked I didn't eat but one bite. The people behind us returned their plates to the kitchen. Overall, we couldn't wait to leave.

Went to dinner at Peerless based on reviews; however, steak was ordered Medium and had to be returned. My guess ordered the seafood platter and the scallops needed to be returned to cook further. The waiter was fabulous! Prices were good. But, the food was average. The building was beautiful and desert was good. I would not necessarily recommend this restaurant.. LSB

Absolutely, some of the BEST steaks in Knoxville. Wonderful service, great atmosphere, delicious food. Both the T-Bone and RibEye came on a sizzling platter and remained hot thoughout the meal. One was medium, one was medium-well. Both were cooked to perfection. Baked potatoes were perfect, beer was cold! This was not a one-time lucky steak. Each time we go, the steaks are wonderful. If you like a great steak, you HAVE to come here. Thanks Peerless!!

Great ambience for a couples evening all the way up to larger parties. Service is usually very good and attentive. This is not a "Prime" steakhouse but the selections have their own different flavor. The seafood in particular is always good and we don't think you can go wrong with any of it.

Our waiter was new, didn't know what salad dressings they served, unsure of menu items in regards to how they were prepared and what they actually were. My wifes filet was medium-medium well, ordered medium. I had one of the seafood platters ask for a substitution and didn't receive it and one of our our side items was late to the table(forgotten)

When we arrived we were told they could not find our reservation. They seated us in an area where for the overflow:bright lighting, white table cloths on party size tables, (there were only 2 of us) no candle lighting. this was a banquet room that they were using for the non reservations that day. When asked if that was all they said yes, there was no other place they could seat us. After a bit of enduring another couple was brought to the area, they asked the same question is there not another location, they were immediately taken to another location. As a result we went to the hostess stand and questioned again, rather insisted that we be seated somewhere with a bit more atmosphere. This initial occurrence spoils my ability to rate.

I have eaten here once before, which everything went great and food great. This time the two orders were mixed up on each plate, as well how the steak was cooked. The server brought another plate and swapping around the orders. This isn't what I expect from this restaurant.... I will give it one more shot. This happens again and it will be off my steak restaurant list.

While the atmosphere is too dark for my taste, the food at Peerless was above average, even for a premium steakhouse. The prime rib was as good as I've had in a long time, and the quick fried oysters were excellent. The layout of the restaurant consisted of mostly booths, and these were arranged to maximize diner privacy. Our server was not as attentive or knowledgeable as we would have liked, but other servers helped him later in our dinner -- they appeared very proficient.

This was our first time at this restaurant. We dined early before catching a movie. The server was very attentive with acceptable skills. I tried a NY Strip steak (12 Oz) as the restaurant positions itself as "Famous for Steaks". The quality of the meat was very good, the seasonings absolutely absent. The sautéd mushrooms seemed to have been heated in the microwave. My wife's fish and chips used haddock, but was prepared in a non-traditional manner. I don't think we will re-try.

We made a reservation that was not needed at all. There were only 2 other parties at the restaurant which on a Friday night is not a good sign in my opinion. The ribeye I ordered was thin and didn't have any flavor. The same for the other steaks ordered at our table. Dessert was mediocre but not the best. The food was extremely overpriced for the taste, I wouldn't mind to pay what we did for good food but it just was not good at all. Very disappointed.

It reminded me of a gathering place for good times. Waiter Keith was professional, courteous & attentive. Food with the exception of my husband's Signature Salad (very salty) was delicious, nice selection of wines. . We will return.

The food was not consistent, two of our companions had the exact same. The steak of one was wonderful, the other rather grizzled. We complained, with no renumeration. The bernaise sauce was lumpy and greasy. All in all for the price I believe one can find better prepared and more enjoyable meals. And to add to it we were seated by the back door, it and the windows were drafty and we had cold air creeping in on us all night.

One of my favorite restaurants. This particular visit was subpar though. Service extremely slow, bordering on neglect. 10 minutes after seating when waitress initially showed up. Had to ask for bread the next time I saw her, which was when food showed up. I had eaten my steak by the time potato service showed up. She only checked on us 1 time during entire meal. Food was not as good as usual either. Breading on oysters not completely cooked.I had brought 3 friends with me because I told them how wonderful Peerless had been. They were completely disappointed in their 1st impression. I'll be back but hope service improves on next visit.

Expected to have difficulty getting a reservation for 6 at 7:00 on a Friday night before a UT ballgame but were greeted and seated right on time. Slightly apprehensive when there wasn't a crowd but it turned out just fine. The food was very good. The service was a little slow and I was afraid meals would be served "not hot" but they were acceptable as well. Our bar items were also a little slow coming out but all in all, a good dining experience. Feel like maybe the kitchen and bar were the problem rather than our server. Atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. I would definitely recommend Peerless.
