Lots of confusion. Very noisy. Don't look for a quiet dinner unless you go after 9-9:30 PM. By 10 PM we could hear each other much better."

  • "Pecorino is a lovely, warm, inviting restaurant on San Vicente in Brentwood. This the 4th or 5th time I've eaten there and each time reminds me why I keep going. The food, ambiance, wine list are second to none. Most recently I had the filet of sole, baked on parchment paper, covered with scalloped potatoes, thin slices of zucchini and sprinkled with freshly grated Pecorino cheese. The person I was with ordered the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection. Brick walls, subdued lighting, and a welcoming, courteous professional staff make for a lovely evening. Highly recommended."

  • "After previously dining here & loving it (especially being in walking distance from our home) I was excited to book us in for valentines. The previous ambiance, service & food quality were definitely not present on valentines night. They packed us in like sardines. They added a silly amount of additional tables to the space so as to maximize revenue (pure greed) but it was to their demise as when we departed at 9:00pm after our 7:00pm reservation (which we didn't get seated until 7:30pm) there were 38 people standing outside the restaurant waiting for their 9:00pm reservations and no sign of any tables opening up for these poor late evening diners. They messed up our bill charging for a la carte desserts even though it was a pre-fix menu."

  • "Been twice in the last two weeks. If you can get a table by the window, it is not too noisy. Great atmosphere. Great food. Try the cacio e pepe, or the veal milanese. Or lobster pasta special. And the braised artichokes. Almost everything is great. Love the pear gratin for dessert, although the waiter talked us into the millefleurs the last time, which was excellent -- light and refreshing. Always an enjoyable place to eat."

  • "Charming, romantic spot with great italian food. Our pastas were the star of the show - Cacio e Pepe with homemade noodles & Amatriciano were both AMAZING! Will definitely be back for both of these. We were on time for our reservation on a Saturday night & were promptly seated. Note: the tables are very close together! But alot of our favorite restaurants are like that. Service was a little slow, but I could see our server had 3 tables sit at the same time, so she was busy & doing her best & very charming with that italian accent. And we were happy taking in the warm atmosphere anyway."

  • "The food here is so good. The service is good. This is definitely not a place to go for a quiet romantic meal. They pack the tables in so diners are very close to each other and it's a super high energy place. But if you don't mind loud restaurants, definitely go for the food."

Looked like they doubled the number of tables and we got the table closest to the kitchen door. Hard to talk with staff yelling and people rushing by dropping flatware on your feet"

  • "I warned my girlfriend that restaurants on Valentine's Day are notoriously overbooked and raucous, and that even though our reservation was at 9, that we would likely not be sat until 10. We got sat at 9:45. No matter, this was the best Valentine's Day we had ever had, partly because we are madly in love with each other, partly because the ambiance was energetic, loud, boisterous, and fun, and the food and wine were outstanding. Our server was not one of the wait staff, it seemed, but perhaps... the manager? He was an older Italian gentleman with glasses. I don't remember his name, but he was great (it didn't hurt that my girlfriend looks like a model, so there's that). I had the single ravioli, she had the lobster pasta). We will return!"

  • "Can't say much for the food, which I'm sure is quite good once you get in the door... Our problem was this management team decided to overbook on Valentine's Day. We waited outside for at least 45 minutes for our reservation with a dozen or more couples. After a few more waves of couples showed up we decided to leave as it was getting comical. Thanks for ruining our special evening.... Although we had a better time going down the street and eating ramen than putting up with this pretentious place!"

  • "Usually in our top choices and we dine often. Something has changed recently. Certainly they have been staff changes and they're understaffed at that. Service is not what it used to be. The number of patrons was moderate for a weekday, but the staff seemed to struggle keeping up. The food was very good. Maybe a little off, but good. This is the second time we've been there in the last month or so, and it was even worse last time. We almost wrote it off our list. Probably will be back, but only after giving it some time to recover from whatever is troubling it. The owner/manager that was always there before had a good handle on things. I hope his absence is only temporary."

  • "I love this restaurant but I will never go back on a Saturday night. Like many LA restaurants, the noise level is out of control. It doesn't matter where you sit, you have to shout to your companions in order to hear one another. It's time that patrons start fighting back about the noise level at MOST LA restaurants. And the level of noise is most detrimental to the staff - they're the ones who will end up with massive hearing loss by the time they're forty or fifty years old. Whatever happened to fine dining and conversation? ENOUGH! And Open Table is guilty of not giving one a choice of selecting EXTREMELY NOISY as a choice. "Energetic" is not an accurate description for the noise level at most places today."

  • "I have been to this restaurant before. This time 3 of us were going for my son's 18th birthday. Which was on the reservation, as well as wanting a table by the window, instead we got a table by the only isle for the servers, host, bus staff. No mention of the birthday. The staff seemed attentive but really wasn't - we wanted to order by course, appetizers, then look at the menu and order dinner. The staff must have stopped at our table literally every minute to pick up the menus. I glass of wind was spilled at our table, and they acted like they had never seen this before, and wasn't quite sure what to do. The food was good as usual - it is a very small place, the staff is 90% Italian. Just not a good night for them."

  • "You really feel like you are in Italy when dining here...a lovely, warm room, italian waiters and authentic food. The cace e pepe, carbonara and sea bass in parchment were all good, as was the carpaccio starter . The millefleurs for desert was bulging with ripe, delicious strawberries. A terrific list of wines by the glass, completed the night. Our table of 4 really enjoyed the restaurant.. There are a lot of Italian restaurants on San Vicente.....Pecorino jumped to the top of our list."

AMAZING food, friendly servers, and romantic atmoshpere. It was a little pricey (over $200 for the two of us) but so worth it!"

  • "A warm, tastefully appointed room, a relaxed atmosphere, and an open kitchen, with attentive, very professional service and wonderful food. No bar, but superior vintage wine available by the glass (Amarone, for example), with delicious, imaginative variations on traditional themes, such as an avocado and green bean with shaved parmesan salad and fettuccine with lobster in a light cherry tomato reduction, or baked branzino with artichoke hearts. A lovely little restaurant, focused on food. Reservations recommended."

  • "The people are lovely but it seems a little pricey. I left with that sinking feeling of, "how could that have been that much—we only had pasta?" Ok, I know they have to pay brentwood rents but still. There is also a very large gap in the wine list. It goes from the cheap stuff that you don't want to drink to the stuff that you can't afford."

  • "Had a wonderful dinner on July 13 that included the following entrees that were all excellent: Cacio e Pepe, Chicken Milanaise, Seafood Pasta and Eggplant Parmesian. The bread and fava bean spread that starts the meals is good too. Dinner for four ran about $170.00 with only two glasses of wine for the four of us, the four entrees, one deep fried pizza that was our sole appetizer, one dessert and two expresso."
