Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent Fresh Local Seafood served any way you like it. You can have it broiled, grilled, fried or with an gourmet sauce. Very popular with local Savannah residents. Lovely view over the river. Wonderful at sunset."

  • "Relaxed atmosphere, good food, many choices, great service!"

  • "Looked for a local restaurant that was away from the tourist crowds around the Savannah historic district and found a review on Pearl's. Decided to take a chance and we were pleasantly surprised with the location (scenery), quality of food (excellent), and the service (very pleasant). I can't say enough about how delicious the food was and the service was great!"

  • "There are very few waterfront restaurants in the area, and Pearl's is one of the best, especially if you are a seafood lover. That's their specialty. Make sure you try their complimentary hush puppies. "

  • "This restaurant is a little off the beaten track, but worth the trip. Wonderful view. We had the days special, Mahi Mahi, and it was excellent. Service was great. Would recommend"

  • "We like to bring our out-of-town guests there for good sesfood! High tide by the window is also a treat for snow-birds!!"

  • "Kim and Zack made our experience wonderful! Kim was full of helpful ideas and personable, true delight. We had out-of-towners which made the scenic view so fun to be positioned over the water! Only complaint if I had to list one, restaurant was too warm... There were no fans to move air. This time of year can be stuffy in Savannah. The food was wonderful, prices comparable but the staff made the difference. Out-of-towner (1) ordered catfish which we were unaware of until it reached the table... Many places in Georgia do not prepare fried catfish with lightly dusted cornmeal but prepare with a flour batter instead which was disappointing to guest. If we had paid attention, we would have discouraged the order!"

  • "The view and the hush puppies make this a favorite restaurant for visitors."
    Dined on 4/7/2014
  • "Delicious, eclectic food with a gorgeous view, good wine & beer list. Professional servers that are very attentive. Only complaint food service could be timed better- dinner follows appetizers too quickly. We dinned their twice anyway."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "Great local seafood with a spectacular view. Make reservations early for "window seating". Sit back, enjoy a relaxing beverage along with beautiful coastal views. The parmesean encrusted grouper was delicious and the pimento cheese topping on the fried green tomatoes was a tasty surprise. We had a great time and I will certainly return. Always a great place to take guests to enjoy a great view from the comfort of indoors."

  • "My wife and I had a very enjoyable dinning expereince here. We had to drive here from our downtown hotel but the trip was worth it. Beautiful setting on the river. We both had excellent sefood dinners at reasonable prices for the area. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "surprisingly good seafood for a waterfront restaurant. typically unhealthy Southern breads & sauces (but very tasty...), but simple grilled fish were fresh & nicely done, as were rice & steamed veggies. not bad at all. server very friendly and views of marsh were spectacular"

  • "Excellent grilled Grouper dinner with a wonderful peach cobbler that had so much ice cream two of us couldn't eat it all."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "Loved the table by the window. Beautiful river and marsh view. Great service. Mediocre food. Grilled shrimp were cold and tough, crab cake recipe using Ritz crackers, not my favorite. Food not as good as the old days..."
    Dined on 3/30/2014
  • "The restaurant gives you that rustic feel of a seafood place. It sits right on the water so it is extremely pretty for pictures afterwards. I had the parmesan crusted tilapia w/ mashed sweet potatoes and squash medley it was wonderful... truly fresh fish. My date and my mom had the grouper with butter sauce with risotto and asparagus. Everything was wonderful including the hushpuppy balls with the honey butter. Be careful because you will get full on the bread it is so good. No to mention the Calamari and the Fried Green Tomatoes. We enjoyed every bit of the food and the experience. Definitely would go back and tell others about the location"

  • "Pearl's is my anniversary spot. My husband took me there on our first date and we've been going every year since. The food is always amazing. We can never choose an appetizer so we usually get two! I am always completely satisfied with their service and food every time we go!"

  • "Great food..beautiful views and great attentive staff. Loved it."

  • "Everything about the dining experience was delightful except the food. In comparison with other restaurants we frequent, the house salad was boring(iceberg lettuce?), the vinaigrette was thick and too sweet(from a bottle), the she crab soup had too much thickener( corn starch) and too little crab, the stuffed flounder's stuffing was mostly breading and too little crAb least and the flounder pretty tasteless. Veggies(asparagus and spinach) well prepared. Tuna entrée was good. Too pricey for quality of meal. Doesn't compare favorably to Sundae Cafe, AJs, Hudsons or Bonna Bella for seafood."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "The view at Salt Water Grille of the river and marshes complement the great food and friendly, efficient service there. There are some shrimp and crab dishes on the menu that one won't find anywhere else, and the tasty fried fish is always a delight."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "We go to Pearl's a few times a year, and our recent visits have been great. Their wine list is modest but has good values, and the markup is not outrageous. The oysters this time were as fresh as could be, their hush puppies stuck to our ribs (or hips), and the seafood and grits very well done. The rule at Pearl's is to stick to the basics: low country fresh fish, simply done. The views are worth the price of admission, and we have always been received in the most friendly way."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "We've been to Pearl's several times recently and I've tried different dishes each time. I've enjoyed all but I have to say it seems better each and every time we go there. Maybe I appreciate the little things more but it is turning out to be one of our favorite places."

  • "When ever we are in Savannah, we always head to Salt Water Grille for a wonderful dinner. The view is spectacular, the menu covers all diners choices and tastes. The wait staff are more than helpful. One can't go wrong with anything one orders. Oysters are excellent in any form and the house "specials"are great. Prices are reasonable and portions more than satisfying. Would highly recommend"

  • "We (8 of us) met here for my husbands birthday. There was something for everyone on the menu. The staff was very attentive and the food came out fresh, hot, without a long wait. We know we can always count on a great dining experience at Pearls!"

  • "Pearl's is a little tucked out if the way currently due to road construction on LaRoche Ave but the food and ambiance remain good."

  • "This is an excellent restaurant full of locals. The food was fresh, service was exceptional, and efficient. I had the grouper and it was very fresh and my daughter had the oysters which she loved. I come here every time I come to Savannah, and I will continue."

  • "Beautiful setting on the river and marsh set the stage for a wonderful dinner. Best hush puppies in the world! Going back next week!"

  • "Beautiful location and view with very tasty entrees (Wasabi Tuna, Mahi-Mahi dishes). Appetizers were ok but not on par with the entrees (Seafood Nachos, Asparagus Pita Dip). Location is currently a bit more difficult to reach but worth the trip. Would recommend to others."

  • "Our hotel concierge suggested this place, and said that they had received great reviews. We got a reservation at the last minute thankfully with Open Table, which worked out perfectly. This is a hidden gem that is secluded and an obvious "known" spot among the locals. The seafood was fresh. The hush puppies (which I am traditionally not a big fan), we addictive. OMG. You must try the fried green tomato's which were inhaled pretty quickly by my husband and I. I thought we needed an second order ;-). Our food was cooked nicely, seasoned well and hot. Our server was friendly and attentive... I would definitely frequent this spot again when in Savannah. BTW - this place to me is a little bit of a cross between Legal Seafood and the Chart House."

  • "At the recommendation of friends, we finally made it to this restaurant for dinner this past Saturday evening. The food was consistently good...we ordered both the tried and true and the dinner specials and all members of our party were more than satisfied with their dinner. The service was very good."
