Pearl Bistro is your local connection. We are a small intimate locally owned casual bistro, serving local ingredients with global flair.

Our mission is to delight our guest by consistently preparing and serving healthy innovative fare at a competitive price. We accomplish this by serving classics from around the world with our special touch. We strive to utilize fresh local produce and meats. We grow our own herbs on site and make our own bread. We only use healthy oils such as olive and canola oils in our cooking. During the day, Pearl is a casual cafe, offering healthy food choices, with the lunch hour in mind. In the evening, Pearl transforms into an eclectic bistro, providing a relaxing and unique dining experience with healthy choices and good flavor in mind.Continued

  • "Hostess said she didn't get the Open Table reservation, which means I didn't get the points, but she was able to seat us! Menu looked interesting but we were not informed of items that they were "out of" until we ordered and both of us ordered items that they were "out of". My sandwich was interesting but my husband's meal was overcooked and sparce. For a small setting the noise level was rather loud. Sorry, but overall we were not impressed."

  • "Pearl Bistro has become our favorite local restaurant. We're so tired of bar food, tired of multiple, distracting TVs showing talking heads and instant replays. Tired of places offering quantity instead of quality. If you want a place where you can get to know the owner and the staff, where you can meet friends and linger for the evening or have a quick and quiet meal, Pearl Bistro is that place. Susan changes the menu frequently, so we don't grow tired of the selection. We always try to go for Thirsty Thursday; first Thursday of each month. Susan invites local wine distributors in to share several wines - usually five. She prepares a delicious sampler plate and it and the wines often relate to a theme, . Wines are varied and affordable."

  • "Indeed, Pearl Bistro is a gem of a restaurant. After weekly trips to Half Price Books for several years, I finally convinced my husband that we should give this establish a try for dinner. What a treat we had in store. The salmon crepes were lush and the leek soup delicious on a chilly evening. My martini was perfection. Husband ordered a burger and salad, prepared just the way he enjoys both. Although short-handed because of spring break, our lone waitress handled the entire room with a smile and excellent service. A lovely dining experience. We will be back."

  • "Love the decor. Cozy and great art poster prints. Mushroom soup was delicious, and not a boring cream broth. Crab cakes were pretty bland, but the horseradish sauce helped spark them up. Friend had the beef bourgunion and reported it was wonderful. Bread and garlic butter are always appreciated. Couldn't resist dessert and glad I didn't even though I had to get it to go. Lemon cheesecake with a warm blueberry compote was the best part of the meal."

  • "We had high hopes after reading the reviews, but not worth it. The burger and pasta were ok, but my chicken, the special that night, was dry and overlooked. It came with avocado that seemed definitely out of a can. Service was "detached friendly" - certainly not a warm and inviting place you would want in a neighborhood bistro. Wouldn't go back. If you do go, stick to the burgers."

  • "We were there because of the deal that was offered on Northside Nights. We were very impressed with our meal. We had been there several years ago (they had not been open very long at that time) and at that time had not been all that impressed. We are very glad we went back and it is much improved."

  • "I really like Pearl Bistro. I have been there twice for dinner, and highly recommend it. Excellent entrees (prime rib, salmon wellington, goat cheese ravioli, Italian chicken, pork chops), crisp and tasty salads, and delicious desserts made in-house. Seems to be family owned, with a welcoming, multigenerational staff. The décor has a simple elegance. And: where else can you enjoy Yorkshire pudding?!"

  • "Tucked in the back off a shopping center, it's not the easiest place to find. Bur it is well worth it for the food and experience. We were served by the proprieter, who has created most of the dishes. We started with the salmon crepes as an appetizer, which were excellent. All or our entrees were also tasty, with interesting snd well prepared vegetable sides. We also tried both deserts - made from scratch and to die for! Will definitely go back!"

  • "The place works for a small quiet place that has a family atmosphere. The person on the phone was a bit discouraging later rsvp's...anything after 8:30 pm is at your own risk on a weekend...they close if they are slow. Food seemed very promising however I felt there was too much of a store bought mix....Crab cakes where over cooked and nearly black on the outside, taste was soso, chicken was very falvorful but masked potatos seemed to be from a "bob evans," microwave container. Veggies where very tasty but not appealing to look at (over cooked), bread was store bought but had wonderful herb butter. If they went the extra mile and upgraded on some of these things I would go back but this seems to be lack of focus on mangement."

It was probably the best meal we have ever had at this restaurant. Everything was well prepared, served attractively, and a delight to the taste buds."

  • "We dined on a snowy night and the restaurant was not very busy. The service was very friendly and you definitely got the feeling that it is a family run operation. The food was excellent, from the appetizers through the dessert. The Beef Bourguignon was wonderful and the beef sourced from Fischer farms. The salmon and pork chops ordered by others in our party got rave reviews. We shared a chocolate cake that was a perfect ending to the meal. Be sure to try the chip mix made with Idaho potatoes, sweet potatoes and beets. On top of all of this, prices were very reasonable. We will definitely make another visit."

Service is attentive; and the owner came by to be sure we were pleased with our food and wine selections. Pearl Bistro is located toward the back of a strip mall at 86th and Ditch, but is well worth the search to find it!"

  • "I will say I tried Pearls after reading all the great reviews about it. The remaki was outstanding. Jack and Larry after hours...outstanding. Potroast...outstanding. All of the food we had there was exceptional. The owner came out and asked about my entree...if it was too my liking and all...a very nice touch. After having such great entrees I decided I would have desert...which I never do....The Raspberry/Lemon cake...horrible. It was extremely dry and I had to choke it down. That being said, I will be going back because the main courses and sides are awesome. I just would not recommend the desert."

  • "Pearl Bistro is the epitome of the great neighborhood restaurant: a warm cozy atmosphere, clear hands-on involvement by the chef and host; and a moderate-sized menu with a mix of standards and interesting new choices. For example, for starters we tried the goat-cheese stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates (thumbs up!) but had also been tempted by the "kalesadilla," or the chip mix (potato, sweet potato, and beets). The artichoke, chicken, kale and shrimp pasta was wonderful - I seldom order pastas in restaurants because they tend to be bland and tasteless but I somehow knew this one wouldn't be...and it did not disappoint. The changing "dessert of the day" was a nice touch, too. Last not least, prices are moderate - a great value!"
