Diner Reviews
  • "Had a nice dinner at the Peak's. The food was good, but my steak was a little over cooked. Wanted medium rare and got more like medium well. Suggest sitting on the second level of the restaurant to be able to see over the foot traffic in front of the restaurant."

  • "We decided to make reservations at Peak since we were going to be riding the Palm Springs Aerial Tram to the top of Mount San Jacinto and thought that it would be nice to enjoy dinner and the view. The meal was mediocre at best and the hostess kept trying to seat us in an area where the only thing that we could see was the sky deck. After finally moving to a slightly better table, we settled in to the dinner routine and the only bright spot was the fresh bread, conversation and our waiter."

  • "Menu is outdated and quality of food isn't great. Pasta was overcooked and quality of meat was subpar."

  • "Service was excellent, our waiter Joe made excellent recommendations!"

  • "My wife and 2 young boys (4 and 6 yrs old) had dinner at Peak's after taking the tram up on Monday. The food was fair-good at best, while the service was fine. The view from the restaurant is fantastic, which is really the only reason to eat here. I can't recommend bringing young children, since the restaurant is extremely quiet (no background music), has no kids drawing/crayons to offer and is obviously 'attempting' to be a more romantic restaurant for couples."

  • "The online reservation asked if the restaruant could provide anything I liked for my time spent there. I asked for a bottle of champagne as a suprise for my partner. It never came. The waiter was non existent with barely a personality. The food was mediocre at best. The woman at the next table complained about here dish. I also saw a squirrel on the floor at the next table (which I took several pictures of). I pointed the squirrel to a busboy who actually stated to me, the squirrels name and said that he's always in here, he helps us out by cleaning up the floors. Really? I would not recommend this establishment to eat. The view was spectacular, but the food is also overpriced for the quality."

  • "Food was okay - overpriced - for a "brick of chicken" I got a really small piece - and the cost of the entree was $22."

  • "The NY Strip was a low quality piece of meat at best."

  • "over priced mediocre food. only restaurant at the top of the Aerial Tramway.between the price of the tramway and the restaurant was not worth the money."

  • "At 8,000 feet this experience is not to be overlooked if you're in Palm Springs or anywhere close by. We left the desert floor at 108 F and quickly launched up to 8,000 feet and 68 F. Dinner in the pines... how cool. We were surprised how good the food was too. Make reservations!! We saw many turned away because they had not. we'll be back!!"

  • "Peaks called us the day of our dinner to confirm our reservation. We got there on time and were seated on time. Our waiter was attentive and very helpful. The pork chop was the meat I think I've ever had. Another member in my group got the steak (which he cleaned from the plate in no time) Would go there again."

  • "Wonderful! Try the delicious pork chop! And the deserts are as as heavenly as the view."

  • "I recieved a call from the hostess confirming my reservation, very friendly. After a long hike we arrived for our reservation and we were wisked straight to our prepaired table. The server (Joe) was friendly, funny, and great with kids! I had a 8oz steak, my wife had the chicken both were heavly salted. The steak was not a choice pice of meat. My daughters grilled cheese was awesome though! Dessert was great; Joe suggested the Brownie with ice cream! Overall the service was so good it made up for the marginal entree. Cannot beat the view!"

  • "The food was ok, creme brûlée was more like a custard than a brûlée. Tasted good, but not a brûlée! Service was great up to a point, and then we couldn't get attention for some time. 4 different people checked on our meal, but after we were bombarded, didn't get anyone's attention for 15 minutes for a refill on coffee. We went near sunset on summer solstice. Lots of bang for the buck, day view and incredible night view. Too bad so much L.A. Smog. Go after a rain for clear views for miles."

  • "I had the filet mignon and it was served simply (with very plain mashed potatoes and a few spears of asparagus). Delicious. The service was warm and friendly. The restaurant isn't fancy, yet the views are so breathtaking that it's worth every moment. We will definitely return."

  • "Great view, very romantic as well. Food was alright, but a very limited menu, portions are a nice size. My salad was the best part of the meal."

  • "Our waiter Marlo or Mario was excellent, especially after we tasted the first bottle of wine which was not to our liking and we switched and he was more than accommodating. It was a pleasure to have him serve us. There were 4 in our party."

  • "Don’t waste your time including requests to the restaurant with your online reservation because the restaurant wont acknowledge the requests. We had a reservation for lunch but our table was not ready, and we were served raw hamburgers. Next time we’ll pack a lunch for our hiking trip and enjoy eating somewhere in the beautiful park."

  • "We had the steak and chicken dishes. Steak was cooked to perfection as ordered and hothot meals were full of flavour. We will be going back on a return visit"

  • "The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. They were also very accommodating as we had missed our original reservation and they still fit us in despite the restaurant having officially closed ten minutes previously. The views were spectacular and it made a really special evening. The menu wasn't extensive but there was enough choice for what we wanted. I had the salad which was delicious and a generous portion, however, the Kale Ragout was no more than bland chick peas mixed with Kale sadly. I was starving so I ate it and it wasn't unpleasant, just lacking flavour or variation. The bread pudding however was to die for! I have never tasted anything like it! This is a must!"

  • "We came here during Restaurant Week. Food was disappointing. One plate totally over salted the other under. Bones in the fish, as well as that of the diners next to us. Tempura soft shelled crab was more like beer battered, not tempura & the Pork Belly and Arugula starter had no arugula. The pork belly appeared to be boiled instead of seared & crispy. Cheesecake was good, chocolate cake dry & dense. When we arrived with a reservation we asked for a window table & told they only had 4 tops yet several of them had couples seated & two that were seated after us were also couples. Our server was pleasant and friendly, not overly attentive. We enjoyed the views and the tram ride but if there's a next time we'll order the burgers!"

  • "We had the "Restaurant Week" Menu. 3 Course meal for $38 bucks. It was great. The Brazilian Skirt Steak and Baked Sea Bass entrees were fantastic. Presentation was beautiful. Look forward to going again on our next visit. "

  • "The only reason I didn't give our experience a 5 star is because of the mosquitos. We ordered the prepared Restuarant Week three course meal and all entrees were delicious. "

  • "We've had lunch several times at Peaks but decided to try it for dinner during restaurant week. The food was very good (soft shell crabs lightly battered in tempura then flash fried were amazing) and the service was friendly and responsive. The evening was enjoyable as well because of the spectacular views and the friendliness of all the other patrons in the restaurant. The view, the food, the service and the congeniality of other guests made this a very enjoyable evening."

  • "Of course the view is grand. The food was better than expected: the Restaurant Week menu was more interesting than the usual a la carte one. Ostrich was nicely done. The service from Stephanie and Steve was good; the others looked like they were rookies. The restaurant could use a bit of a make-over as it seems about the same as when it originally opened. The decor and design isn't keeping up with the view and the food. The cafeteria next door should be separated out from a restaurant that has pretensions to fine dining."

  • "This restaurant is located on top of a mountain! They did a great job creating access to the scenery for all patrons. We just happened to be on the top tier looking out to the valley of the desert. Food was excellent as we were there during the restaurant week and chose to dine from the limited 3-course menu provided. Waitress was very knowledgeable and often asked if we needed anything else. Great service all around, and the views are amazing. One cool thing we were able to see was the bats chasing the moths in the night time lights from the balcony. "

  • "After deciding to detour to Palm Springs after our vacation down the Pacific Coast Highway to ride the famous rotating gondola we decided to make dinner reservations for the Peak for restaurant week. The staff, service and food was all fantastic. We tried new things and loved it. We started our evening at the bar with Frank who served us a great wine and hummus plate while enjoying the view. When it was time for our dinner reservation he escorted us to the dining room with our wine glasses and bottles on a tray. He made sure that the hostess directed us to a window side table and since we were finishing our 25th anniversary trip it was the perfect touch. We had a lovely time and would absolutely suggest this restaurant."
