  • "We were intending to go to a more well-known place but they were crowded and, not wanting to wait, we went onto the phone and did an Open Table reservation for some nearby place we had never heard of: Peak Wood Fired Grille. The place was small and quiet, allowing for the conversations we were craving. The food was excellent. I had the trout and my friend had the meatloaf. Chef Hoffner came out and spoke to all the diners but was not obtrusive. We were able to leisurely enjoy both the food and the company. If I lived nearby, I would come here a lot!"

Should have let him know the salmon portions were awfully small...seemed like they were running low and decided to cut a normal portion in half, then provided double helping of vegetables to fill the plate...another diner had salmon at my table and their portion was also small... Very well prepared, just a small portion..."

  • "So glad we took the chance on this restaurant. We went here after our daughters 6th birthday party. I had the trout with crab sauce, the wife had the tuna. Most importantly the key lime pie will take you to florida on the first bite. There owner greets you at the door and the food is great. Will be back often."

  • "The menu sounded good, but the over salted, saucy product was sub par. For the price we were regretful we could have gone to Al Biernats for exceptional food and atmosphere! We were not pleased and will not return. We are foodies and really enjoy new local places to support. Unfortunately, this one wont stay on the list."

  • "Don't be fooled: The simple dish descriptions on the menu don't do the food at Peak Wood Fired Grille justice! The BBQ chicken skewers are served with a bed of field greens lightly dressed with wasabi vinegairette and the crab cakes are made with huge chunks of fresh meat. The owner is attentive and cares about the quality and image of the product his kitchen and staff deliver. Be sure to check the wine list! The owner rotates his wine cellar regularly and often has great wines at half-price in order to move the stock (we had $16 bottle of Malbec). I believe Monday is also a 1/2 price day. The restaurant is small, so you may be seated close to other patrons."

  • "To say the very least, I enjoyed my first outing at Peak Wood Fired Grille very much. The owner, Mike Johnson, was such a nice gentleman to us, and it was fun getting to know the guy running the show. The food was SPECTACULAR. I will say the portions were a little small, but caliber of the food was A+. I usually regret ordering Medium Rare in other restaurants, but they did it so well and I have to give the chef major props for that. There are two little oddities about the restaurant that give it character. 1) The space is very small, and so you might find yourself conversing with another customer a couple feet from you. 2) The guests seem pretty varied, and it breaks up the monotony of most upper class establishments"

  • "This was our second time at Peak. I had the burger which was very tasty. My wife had the steak again which she said was very good. I love that the food comes out very hot from the kitchen. It shows a high degree of attentiveness to preparation and execution in the kitchen. Because my wife had a special dietary request, the chef came by to make sure he fully understood her needs. That's service! We will be back again soon."

I tasted the caesar, the luther salad and the beet salad and they were all great. Our table had a variety of seafood entrees and everyone was thrilled. It overall was a great experience and we can't wait to go back."

  • "Great overall experience; brought out-of-town guests and they definetely enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The "starch of the day" (a potato side with olive oil and parmesan cheese) was outstanding along witht the still-warm foccacia bread for the table. Service was supurb with the owner and exec. chef checking in on us which was a nice touch. They got a bit of a rush towards the end of our meal which slowed the server down but a minor issue."

  • "We saw Peak as a new restaurant on OpenTable and decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised about the good food and excellent service. I had the tomato basil soup and the meatloaf. My wife had a Caesar salad and the small steak. Not only did the food taste great, but it was served hot from the kitchen! So many restaurants let the food cool off under so called heat lamps before its is served, not Peak. Kudos for keeping the food hot! The menu is mostly seafood so I will have the salmon dish next time. We had a tag team of 2 waitresses that were outstanding. Mike the owner came by several times to see how we were doing. He has a hit on his hands, so make your reservations early!"

  • "We dined at Peak on Saturday, Feb. 22nd, and thoroughly enjoyed our experience from beginning to end. The menu is quite varied and the specials were a marvelous addition to an outstanding selection of appetizers and entrees. The food was prepared and served expertly, and the general ambience of the restaurant provided a wonderful setting for our dinner. The wine list is short but contains something for every palate, complementing our dinner nicely at different price points. And don't skip dessert either! Peak is a delightful bistro-styled restaurant that, based on overall performance, has achieved the peak of excellence."

  • "We waited 15 minutes for a waiter to show up at our table, only after we complained about the neglect. The appetizer was good (spinach and artichoke dip), but the salad was delivered over the top of the first course. Next, we had to wait 30 minutes after we finished our salad to get the entry, and we had to complain again to even meet that delayed timing. Then when the entries arrived, they were not the way that we ordered them, and part of the food was cold. One of the owners came by to offer a glass of wine for our delay since we had tanked our bottle of wine due to the excessive delays. We took his offer, and he brought the same wine that we had originally ordered, but it had clearly been open for several days and was undrinkable."

  • "We reserved a spot here on Valentine's day. The atmosphere and look of the restaurant was wonderful. The manager greeted us at the table and was very energetic in keeping the place clean and the customers happy. The food was above average. I ordered the pork and my fiancee ordered the salmon. Both were very good and had nothing to complain about, but they weren't "outstanding." I would recommend this place to anyone."

  • "Peak Wood Fire Grille is a smaller non chain restaurant with fantastic food and great service. The owner/manager came by and welcomed us and thanked us for coming in. The waiter was friendly, courteous and kept a great eye on us even though the restaurant was quite busy that night. The food was spectacular and the bread pudding was wonderful. The noise level was acceptable and the atmosphere was clean and relaxed. We are sure to return to Peak Wood Fire Grille for our future special evenings out. I'm sure we would go there more regularly if we lived a little closer."

  • "Made a reservation for this restaurant for valentines day for my wife and I. Thought I read reviews that mentioned an impressive wine list... The wine list is strange. They offered ~6 whites and 6 reds (which isn't all that impressive). My wife ordered a cocktail off of the small cocktail list on the table. 5 mins later the waitress came back and said the cocktail list was not supposed to be out and that they didn't have all of the ingredients needed for that particular drink. Wife ordered the salmon, I ordered a flatbread/pizza. Food was pretty good, but nothing over the top. Service-wise, things were pretty decent. Would I come here again? Yes. Would I come here again on valentines day? Absolutely not. Hope this helps. Enjoy."
