Diner Reviews
  • "Great brunch spot. A specialty juice from their juice bar will help in your weekend recovery. Can't beat their Chesapeake Eggs Benedict or their shoestring fries."

  • "The folks at Peacock Café are the nicest people in G'town! The food is quite tasty. The portions are generous. The service superior. Indoor and outdoor dining available. It's a real gem!"

  • "From the friendly staff to the awesome food... Peacock cafe never disappoints."

  • "It's fine and close. Some of the tastes are just a little odd like their signature salad dressing."

  • "Peacock has always been my favorite spot.. love it... enjoy the french fries! they are to die for! -tomato bisque, tuna salad, any of the sandwiches, you will enjoy every food"

  • "The main weakness at the Peacock Cafe is the food. The "lump meat crab cakes" were not lump meat but a shredded white substance that may or may not have been crab. Not a single lump could be found. The cakes were then over cooked to the point of a hard crust on one side and were tasteless. The fillet of fish special was warm not hot and contained unappetizing dark meat rather than the desired white flakey meat. The wine by the glass had to be sent back as it was clearly from a bottle that had opened days before. Noise level makes conversation difficult."

  • "The menu is amazing. There were so many great choices, it was difficult to decide what to eat. The service is very good! I admire restaurants that don't rush you and don't clear anyone's dishes until everyone in the party is finished eating their food. Excellent and healthy juices and smoothies are a must!"

  • "Disappointed with my entree. The lamb dish had one piece of lamb in it and it was the size of a gumball. If they were out of the dish they could have simply said so. At $24 for the entree alone it was disappointing."

  • "I took my mom here for lunch and the tomato bisque soup is SO delicious. Highly recommend."

  • "The food is great at Peacock Café but the juice bar option is a nice change from the regular iced tea or soda options for lunch beverages. Loved it!"

  • "We often go to The Peacock Cafe. Great service, neighborhood feel. Food is great, good menu. For this occasion it was a lunch meeting. Wanted to make a good impression, and we did."

  • "A diverse menu, even at brunch, will meet the needs of breakfast lovers or lunch lovers! One page of fruity, healthy smoothies tempts you right away with a great way to kick off a meal. If you prefer wine or a morning cocktail, they have that too! The Blueberry Island smoothie was perfect for me. We had the smoked salmon benedict, which was actually served on a bit of baguette or roll instead of the usual english muffin...loved it! Eggs were cooked perfectly and it was served with their beautiful shoestring fries that everyone craves. I had the salmon patty on a green salad with a light citrus dressing and red quinoa that hit the spot with me. It was served with two housemade crostinis. The salmon patty was delicious and a generous size."

  • "great food. I go here often. Staff attentive. If you need to talk without shouting this is also the place."
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "Amazing outdoor space for brunch. Ordered salmon eggs Benedict and corned beef hash. Both excellent. Only comment would be one of the eggs on both dishes were overlooked so when you break into the yolk, the yolk was completely cooked instead of poached. "

  • "The food was very bland, lacking flavors. Initially, the server was attentive; however, as the evening went on, the quality of service degraded. "

  • "I go here often for lunch at work. The service and food is always good. It's nice to sit outside (even though it can be a little loud when trucks go by or stop to make deliveries on Prospect St). It can be loud inside, unless you get a table just to the left of the entrance in the alcove. Co-owner Shahab Farivar is often at the host stand or visiting tables and is as nice a restauranteur as you'll ever meet. Oh, and you can get breakfast all day!"

  • "The food was delicious, however the service was only fair. Our appetizers arrived and before we put out forks down to finish ,our main courses appeared . No attention was paid to us . When we finally received the check no one bothered to pick it up , we left leaving it on the table."

  • "Peacock Cafe is an enjoyable place, but the entrees fall a little flat for some reason. I recommend the appetizers and drinks. This was our second visit and we dined outside, which took advantage of the beautiful day and a bit of the hustle and bustle of Georgetown, but suffered a bit from the loud, itinerant ramblings of an (apparently) homeless guy ambling back and forth across the street. Service was friendly but a bit on the slow side."

  • "Went with a group of 6 and had enjoyable evening. Food was very good and the service was also good. Restaurant noise level a bit high and not conducive to group conversations. That being said, I would still recommend to friends, but perhaps just 3/4 at a time."

  • "I'd only been here at lunchtime before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Everyone in our party was delighted with the food and the ambiance. "

  • "After hearing great things about this restaurant, I decided to take my mom out for brunch. We were extremely pleased with our experience at Peacock Cafe. Despite how busy the restaurant was, we were able to get outdoor seating, which was very comfortable. We appreciated our attentive service and the delicious food- we both had the eggs benedict Chesapeake and two passion fruit bellinis, which were on point. Thank you for providing such a lovely atmosphere and great service, it is really appreciated. "

  • "While the food was actually very delicious (we had a series of their small plates), the service really put a damper on our evening at Peacock. Throughout the meal we were ignored by three different servers despite the place being pretty empty. We were the only table that didnt receive bread with our meal and found it very difficult to get refills on drinks or place additional orders. Thankfully, we weren't in a rush. I wish it would have been a better experience, since the food was good, but I can't say I'd go back. "

  • "Great place to eat in Georgetown. It is off the main strip, which makes outdoor dinning more enjoyable. The food was great and the service was outstanding. Outdoor dining is street side, and can be a bit noisy. Inside is very nice and quiet. Kid friendly service and menu. We had a great experience and would recommend this place to anyone."

  • "I dine at Peacock Cafe often and it never disappoints. My last experience there was my favorite. My friend and I ordered their special fish of the day and it was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the friendliness of the wonderful staff. If you are traveling to Georgetown, this restaurant is a must!!! "

  • "Everything went fine. I was immediately seated, with courtesy. The service, albeit slow, was overall good and friendly. The food as well was good and a nice red Montepulciano d'Abbruzzo accompanied it by the hand. Therefore, a good experience although far from a thrilling one. I believe I will go back with the hope of finding somewhere that spark that would make it a memorable experience."
