Peacock Cafégood for occassionsI just happened upon this restaurant when I was looking for somewhere for my birthday with friends. All the reviews talked about brunch, but dinner was great too. The staff was also very friendly and when I mentioned I was there for my birthday they wrote that around my lava cake dessert. It was a very sweet gesture and I would go back the next time in DC.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Family CelebrationsPeacock Cafe is my go to restaurant for family special occasions. I've celebrated mother's day brunches, graduation lunches, and birthdays there. The food is excellent for health conscious foodies, which we all are in our group. The wines are excellent and the atmosphere is relaxing so I never feel hurried through the meal. It feels much more like a European restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a delicious, relaxing dining experience. Let the festivities begin.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNoisy!Do not recommend this place for Sunday brunch if you are interested in carrying on a conversation. The noise level was so high, it was difficult to hear the others at our table. The food was okay, but nothing out of this world.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTime to dine Al FrescoThis was our first time to this restaurant and won't be our last. The lamb burger was awesome. It is a friendly atmosphere and we even saw the owner walk around and greet each table outside. Extensive wine list and cocktail menu. The mojitos looked yummy. Lots of options on the weekend brunch menu. Can't beat the location (off Wisconsin and footsteps from M Street). A parking garage right next door, and a pay parking lot in front of the restaurant. Definitely a must try if you haven't been.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat For BrunchVery nice informal brunch place in Georgetown. Service was great and very friendly. Food though was exceptional and the gem of this restaurant. Simple stuff like eggs were very well made. Pancakes were perfect done not too sweet or syrupy. Wish we had more room in my stomach then. A surprise was the chicken sausage, which was the best I ever had.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMProfessional, courteous, deliciousParents were visiting from Jersey where we have the world's finest restaurants.
Peacock has every reason to be proud!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an early dinner soWe had an early dinner so the restaurant was very quiet. Our waiter was attentive. Our food was well prepared and delicious.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, Gluten-free menuThe food was delicious and healthy! I had the cod with a sweet-sour sauce with figs and almonds and spinach on the side. My date had the veggie burger, which he said was good. I appreciated that the restaurant's menu highlights gluten-free items. It makes it a lot easier for dinners like myself with gluten allergies to figure out what to eat. We can eat more than salads at Peacock Cafe! In fact, even some of their desserts are gluten-free! We really enjoyed the ambiance at the restaurant. We were seated right by the window so could see outside without having to endure the heat and humidity. Service was also very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Dining Al FrescoWe've only had great experiences at Peacock, and the record continues! Shahab is the consummate host -- always warm and welcoming to regulars and new customers alike. Also, ask for Marija (pronounced "Maria") if you go. She's very knowledgeable about the menu offerings, and is more than willing to make recommendations if you need them. I enjoyed the lightly-battered fried calamari for an appetizer, followed by the shrimp and spinach tagliatelle with saffron lobster cream sauce and sweet peas. My friend had the Peacock salad and the "torsh-o shirin" cod. We shared the chocolate volcano for dessert. Everything was delicious. Oh...great cocktail menu and wines by the glass, too!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMMy family and I came to PeacockMy family and I came to Peacock Cafe for my graduation lunch. It was a perfect spot, a crowd-pleasing menu (that was gluten-free friendly!) with great ambiance and atmosphere. Perfect location in the heart of Georgetown without feeling like you're in the heart of Georgetown.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceGreat brunch place and terrific salads. Make a reservation on the weekends for sure!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AM50 B'dayThe food is adventurous and superb. The chef's pistachio soup is a culinary masterpiece. The service is attentive yet unobtrusive. W have yet to have a bad experience at this restaurant of any kind. They welcome you as a guest the first time and as a friend each time thereafter. Peacock Cafe truly defines what a fine dinning experience should be.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNext time, will get Paul NewmanGreat place for brunch and Georgetown scene. Didn't love the table we got outside, as it was tucked away on Mother's Day, but I always enjoy Peacock. Saw the Paul Newman on the menu, which was my favorite sandwich when I went to school in Georgetown -- have to get that next time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSatisfactoryFood was just okay. Service was great and I like the ambience. This time I went for dinner, but I've been there for brunch too. Brunch was much better.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFine Family BrunchPeacock Cafe offers a fine dining experience and good value. The food combines inventive treats with reliable standards. The wait staff is polite and reliable. The chef and the maitre'd visited the table displaying a caring attitude that is gratifying. We had five for brunch and it was a memorable experience.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorites in DCWe often go to the Peacock Cafe. It is very consistent and good. So we continue to come back. Our four guests also enjoyed it.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the reliable qualityI love the reliable quality of the food, creative cocktails and lively, attentive wait staff at this neighborhood staple. It is hip and happening while also warm and inviting thanks to hospitality of the friendly and talented Farivar brothers - Shahab and Maziar! Perfect place. Perfect food. Great experience. Every time.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLocal Gem for dinnerFood was very good and different. I had the ravioli with spinach which was excellent. A very large portion of spinach and the ravioli appeared to eb home made. My wife had the salmon and it was very tasty.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWent on a recommendation ofWent on a recommendation of a friend and found a delightful meal.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved our evening her. GreatLoved our evening her. Great food. Best mussels I have had. Great charming service. One of my favorite georgetown experiences. Loved the lamb stew!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMParking is a problem but it'sParking is a problem but it's Georgetown. We ate lunch here and it was good. I had the CaryGrant sandwich and my husband had the meatloaf.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed everything we ate.We enjoyed everything we ate. The lamb duo had a lamb shank that melted in my mouth! Would definitely come back again.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBest BrunchThe Peacock Cafe has the best breakfast/brunch in DC. Recently Chef Maziar has added Persian fair to the brunch menu (as he has to the dinner menu - the pistachio soup is absolutely fantastic and the Thursday all-Persian menu is a dining delight). For brunch, the egg white omelet with black beans provides protein in a different milieu. The Eggs Benedict (choice of traditional ham, salmon or crab) come with the famous Peacock fries. French toast is smothered in a warm strawberry-balsamic sauce and the pancakes have a banana-walnut syrup. If you like Bloody Marys or gin fizzes, the morning bartenders are some of the best in the business. Oh, and they have a formidable juice bar as well!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThough the three loud womenThough the three loud women beside us were distracting, the flavor of the food was enough to drown out their Sirenian screeching. The nachos with vegetarian chili was a prefect non-meat appetizer that was able to somehow simulate the filling qualities of a hearty chili without killing Lenten observances. My huge Hawaiian swordfish was cooked to perfect yet served on a pallet of overly-aromatic rice with an over-powering smell in itself. My father's portion of pistachio encrusted cod looked and he assured me it was wicked good. The prices seemed pretty high, but the staff was super-professional and seemed to genuinely like their job, which makes up for it. I would definitely recommend and come back with parents when I move here next year3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpectedly delicious food.Unexpectedly delicious food. The Persian menu was outstanding especially the pistachio citrus soup. I still crave that rich find!!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGeorgetown GemPeacock Cafe is a must for anybody who is in the mood for a great meal and a wonderful dining experience. A Georgetown gem!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for lunch & dinner!Had lunch here with two friends, and one infant. We made a note in the reservation that we would need room for the stroller and they were extremely accommodating. The server was fantastic and responsive, even helped when leaving to get the stroller up the steps and out of the restaurant (for parents with strollers: there are two or so small steps to get into/out of restaurant).
The food was fantastic for lunch, if a little pricey (but it's to be expected for lunch in Georgetown). I've had lunch here once and dinner twice (once for my birthday, oh my goodness was the filet delicious!), and it's been fantastic every time.
Truly a great place to eat, and we even get catering from here for my office sometimes.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a dinner for two.We enjoyed a dinner for two. Great food and service. Always fun to go out to dinner in Georgetwon -- on a week night or on a weekend. The manager was especially professional and welcoming.
