In a recent trip to NY, I decided after having the Waldorf salad all over the US, that I'd like to try it at its namesake location - and it lived up to its hype! From taste to presentation, it exceeded expectations! Also, the service was excellent, went above and beyond to cater to our original party and guests that arrived later with a 9 yr old.

We were pleased and excited to learn that Peacock Alley brunch was reinstated. We absolutely love everything about it. The atmosphere and service is very dignified and accommodating. The food is of the highest of quality, ranging from the wet bar of oysters, lobster/shrimp and little necks to the omelette station and the meat carving station. Certainly not to be overlooked is the assortment of desserts including the chocolate fondue tower. The complimentary champagne was a nice touch! Looking forward to returning in the near future!

Disappointed to say the least...we sat for 5 minutes before interrupting two waiters standing behind us chatting so we could order coffee. Then we headed up to the brunch. The bacon was cold, the pastry stale, the hot foods (pasta) dried out. The eggs Benedict was a disaster. A pre-formed cold base "warmed up" on the pan...cool and tough. The ice cream baked Alaska had a frozen hockey puck inside. Nothing but the fruit looked fresh. Even the tiramisu was just a plastic cup of cream with chocolate shavings. At $100 a head it was NOT acceptable. Two years ago I took 25 people to brunch here to celebrate my birthday. It was wonderful. The food was amazing and everyone raved. This time?? What happened, Waldorf?

I had read that this hotel had lost a bit of its grandeur but I could see no signs of it. The lobby and restaurant are wonderful and a perfect setting for lunch. The service is unobtrusively efficient as you would expect but our food was disappointing. The Waldorf salad was decorative but tasteless. My seared tuna was tender and moderatetly ok but sat on a bed of tasteless chickpeas with some non descript cucumber slices. so, if you want a dining experience this place is top notch but if you're hungry and/or are really into how the food tastes this place under-performs!

My husband and I wanted to try Peacock Alley for lunch, and with our babysitter unavailable until late afternoon, our 15-month-old had to come along. I was a little hesitant to bring her, but I didn't have a choice. Not to worry, our hostess and servers were accommodating. Our reservation noted a well-behaved toddler, who of course, was only moderately well behaving this day. I savored the Waldorf salad. My hubby had the turkey club. Both were delicious in their own right, and just enough for lunch, but the red velvet cupcakes were more than the icing on the cake...they were the standout of the meal. The icing and the moist red velvet cake were succulent. The mini chocolate topper- complete with the Waldorf Astoria logo were simply divine.

This restaurant isn't exactly what we expected. It is in the main lobby of the Waldorf, and is more of a "lounge" than a full-service dinner restaurant. FABULOUS "Peacock" cocktail and of course, Waldorf salad. Excellent artisanal cheese platter. Service was sparse, and our waiter was probably at the end of his shift, not very attentive. Perfect to sit back, relax and enjoy a small meal and cocktails after a long day out sight-seeing.

The only good thing they have going for them is that they are located in the Waldorf Astoria hotel. They do have the famous red velvet cupcakes, but $14 for 4 mini cupcakes is very expensive. The waiter was very neglectful and I had to wait considerably for the check although I was done dining about 10 minutes prior. Once I got the check, I was rushed out of there very quickly, as they came by the table immediately after I signed my name to the receipt and I was only 2 steps away from the table when they were already clearing off my table.

Had a great experience at the Waldorf=Astoria. We arrived 10:30AM to catch the Thursday tour. Our guide was delightful and did an excellent job narrating the interesting history of this Landmark hotel. The tour ended at the Peacock Alley where we enjoyed a world famous Waldorf Salad, Grilled Chicken entree and ended with a plate of cookies and coffee. Our waiter gave us a gift as we were leaving, a small jar of honey harvested form the Waldorf bee garden to take home.

Food left much to be desired. Truffle fries were served cold and over-salted--not worth the 12 or more dollars. Waldorf salad was tasty and beautifully presented. Specialty champagne cocktail honoring the Tour De France was delicious. Pricey, mediocre food, but you're paying for the atmosphere at one of New York's most stunning hotels.

visited for lunch and its in the lobby of a busy and noisy hotel; meal ordered took 25 minutes to arrive and the place was not busy- waiter came over to take order and returned to offer us coffee and dessert, not realizing we never received our lunch. Expensive and the food was not tasty. Not worth going back.

I have been going here for the last 5 years and while they finally figured out a better way to funnel the people through the buffet line, they made it difficult to pass since no one is going the same way (do they realize there are other people around them...a bit out of touch). When you pay about 150.00 for eggs and pastrys I guess that's the clientele you cater to. It is definitely something to experience once, but the tradition I was trying to start for my family, the desire is starting to wane to the fact that it is a burden to go there rather than a pleasureable experience. Also, the blonde at the host stand needs a personality...harsh and rude is the best way to describe her, but then again dealing with the clueless can be trying.
