A word from Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant & Bar
In Italy, every meal is a journey… the same is true at Pazzaluna. Start with appetizers featuring a selection of bruschetta and pizza straight from our wood-burning oven; then move on to a traditional Italian dinner menu of antipasto or insalata (salad), to primi piatto (pasta course), to secondi piatto (main course), and finally a delicious dolce (dessert). Discover the truly Italian art of lingering over dinner with family and friends, making conversation, and enjoying wine in a setting that is both urban and relaxing.

Diner Reviews
  • "We were celebrating a friend's birthday. Not only was the food very good and the cocktails interesting and potent, but the restaurant went far beyond a simple free dessert: Everyone else got a free mini appetizer and end-of-meal palate cleanser too. Plus, the birthday girl was able to sign up for a free gift certificate and parking voucher for her next visit. Our server was very helpful and non-intrusive. All in all, we had a really nice evening, so we'll be returning, probably for our next birthday celebration."

  • "Met another couple for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our server Patty was wonderful - very attentive and knowlegable - and the food across the board was delicious. Look forward to returning soon!"

  • "In town for business and used open table to recommend a spot to catch up with an old friend. Pazzaluna was perfect. Great appetizers, broad menu offerings from pizza to steak, and everything was delicious. Reasonably priced, and a fun, lively, downtown location."

  • "We have gone to Pazza Luna for birthdays and randomly any time we were in the area for the past 3 years. My FAVORITE dish was the beef and porcini mushroom brushetta appetizer, this is no longer on the menu. We have recommended Pazza Luna to so many people telling them of the amazing food, great ambience, etc. My favorite drink was some blue drink, they no longer have that either. My husband and daughter always loved the scallops appetizer, they have a new one that has a mint pea sauce..not a fan. We ordered carpaccio brushetta?? We were not aware that this was a raw beef appetizer, it did not state anywhere on the menu that it was raw. It was just a very disappointing trip. Our dinner was great, the pre-dinner was not."

  • "Staff were wonderful and treated Ruth so very nice on her 75th Birthday (she remains a young woman in all ways). Thanks for the nice thoughtful touches to a day filled with theatre, family, and fine dining."

  • "I was not impressed with our meal at Pazzaluna. The portions were quite small and not very tasty. We did however receive very good service, friendly and very efficient."

  • "A wonderful evening, we were served two complimentary glasses of Prosecco and a beautiful dessert. The atmosphere is classy, just a perfect place for a romantic evening!"

  • "The food was excellent. The service was great. I thought the lights were way to bright. This is a very loud restaurant at times it was hard to hear each other speak."

  • "We went to Pazzaluna on a Saturday night with a group of 6. Positives: Wait staff was friendly, main dining room had a good ambiance, calamari and caesar salad was good. Negative: We made a reservation for a group of 6 and were disappointed with our seat in the back room (right next to the wait station and the back door) at a wobbly table. It ruined the ambiance of the dinner. My husband had the rabbit and was disappointed with the lack of flavor. Our group was overall dissatisfied with their meals. The meals (chicken picatta and chicken parmesean in particular) were very heavy and large. We will most likely not be back to Pazzaluna in the future."

  • "We had a wonderfull time celebrating our granddaughter's 16 th birthday! However, when we paid I didn't realize that they had included a tip so I paid it twice. I paid a tip on the tip. I should have looked or they should have told us that the tip was included!"

  • "This was a nice little find for our son's 19th birthday dinner!!! We had Fantastic service from our 2 lovely waiters! We enjoyed our yummy dinners and I will return to try others things on the menu."

  • "The food was very good, but the service was lacking. We had to wait too long for a server to take our order and to pay the bill. I had to flag another server to get our bill, which was surprising considering all of the time-sensitive events in the area (i.e. sports, theater, concerts, etc)."

  • "We were guests at the Saint Paul Hotel and were looking for a quick bite for dinner. We crossed the street and dined outdoors at Pazzaluna and shared the arugula salad and beet salad, both of which were delicious and very fresh. We followed that order with the homemade gnocchi in sage butter. The gnocchi was also very good but very rich (which kind of comes with the territory if you are ordering a butter sauce). Overall a great dining experience."

  • "Pazalunna is no longer offering a free bottle of wine on your birthday week. ( wine price equal to your age) This was a great feature that has been discontinued."

  • "We celebrated our son's 21st B'day with dinner and drinks. The staff was exceptional."

  • "Pazzaluna is a good place to meet friends and enjoy a dinner together. The food is good, wine list so-so. I had a half order of pasta, Caesar salad and glass of wine for under $40. A value in a nice downtown setting."

  • "We made reservations and when we arrived, still had to wait about 20 min for a table. Not happy- but they did apologize for the wait. Our food took a while after we ordered too. We ordered the dessert that said it took about 15 min to bake, and we were willing to wait because the description sounded amazing. When it came out, it was smaller than what we were expecting because of the price. (Smaller than a cupcake) All together we spent about 2 and 1/2 hours at the restaurant!!, but the food was amazing."

  • "We did not expect to find such a lovely dining experience here! Everything was deliciously prepared, and the server was mostly attentive to our needs. We dined with our daughters, age 6 and 8, and the wait staff was accommodating of our needs, including when the 6 year old spilled her drink. If we lived in this city, this would be a regular place to visit for amazing food!"

  • "My cousin and I so enjoyed our dining experience...We met for our birthdays and we both were running late. Your team was so kind in still seating us on a Friday night...and we still made it to our theatre on time. Wine and food were amazing, along with the awesome service."

  • "We attended this restaurant before a play performance at The Park Square Theatre. We made a reservation as the website recommends and rushed to make our 5.15 time slot as no 5.30 or 5.45 slots were available. Much to our disappointment, when we arrived, we found the restaurant only half full. The service was very good and our waiter, Jacob, allowed us to sample the wine first and even gave my mom a sample of a second one. This convinced me to purchase a full glass of wine for $12. The food was okay. My mom's linguini was al dente in fact, a bit undercooked, and she couldn't finish it. My spicy penne was not spicy and the sausage that I ordered with it were slightly burnt and crunchy. Nice atmosphere but not food only okay."

  • "One of the reasons for choosing Pazzaluna especially for a birthday gathering was for the complimentary bottle of wine offered to the person celebrating his or her birthday. It was such a good promotion and gave us good feelings for the restaurant, we always celebrated birthdays as well as just stopping by for a meal at Pazzaluna. They have now stopped that service. I no longer feel as compelled to drive from Minneapolis. If a free bottle of wine to match your age is no longer cost effective, perhaps a less expensive house type bottle of wine would be an option. It separates Pazzaluna from similar competing Italian restaurants. I would like it if you could bring back the bottle of wine!!"

  • "We've been to Pazzaluna many times over the years, and really like the place. But on this visit, our service was much poorer than during previous visits. Our waitress basically disappeared after taking our order. A couple of younger guys brought our entrees before we had completed our salads, while saying "Oh. sorry about that". I really hate that, because if they were really sorry, they wouldn't do it!! If you visit, consider ordering course by course!"

  • "I have not dined downtown for quite a while and was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant. Loved the extra tall windows and space between tables. Veal medallions were excellent. Too much cheese on the bruchetta. Desserts were excellent."

  • "Chicken saltimboca was good, but chicken was overcooked. Veal medallions were tough, but tasty. Arugula salad was excellent. Great bread.Someone in charge did come to our table to ask how our dinners were. Nice touch."

  • "The restaurant really extended its congratulations to us ... we were greeted with two glasses of Prosecco and brought a dessert with a candle lit, on the house! The gnocchi was amazing, as always, and I love that they split the dish with two sauces for me. We have made this an annual event and the restaurant knows us, but I would recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy really good Italian food or a special occasion!"

  • "Given the association with the St. Paul Hotel and it's outstanding reputation for quality, my family and I went to Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant and Bar with the highest of expectations. When we arrived, despite a small number of customers and a prior reservation, we waited 20 minutes for our table. When we were finally seated, we were treated to slow and inattentive service, followed by food that was limited in portion (particularly considering the price), and of average quality. Finally, when paying the bill, I was told that I would only be allowed to use one of two gift cards, forcing us to either forfeit the amount of the second gift card, or endure another mediocre dining experience."

  • "My meal was delicious -- chicken piccata with parmesan risotto. It was absolutely yummy. Very big portion. Would have liked a little less risotto and an added green veggie. Highly recommend Pazzaluna if you love Italian food."

  • "Our dinner here was wonderful! The food was excellent and the service was good. I have been here a few times and am always pleased. I will definitely return again and would recommend Pazzaluna to others."

  • "We generally love Pazzaluna but were exceedingly disappointed to learn they cancelled their birthday wine promotion. We typically go with a sizable crowd (6-8 people) 5-6 times per year and have told dozens of our friends what a great deal the wine promotion is (was). According to our server, they cancelled the promotion "because the economy is stronger" and they no longer need it to entice consumers into the restaurant. For us, that now makes Pazzaluna no different than any other special occasion restaurant. Please bring it back!"

  • "Two friends and I had dinner here before a concert at The Ordway. We were able to get a reservation at the time we preferred, and we were seated at once. We enjoyed wine before dinner, and we each had excellent salads. The bread served was delicious. Two of us had pasta and one selected pizza. We were pleased that so many of the pastas were available in smaller portions. Our server was aware of our concert time, and everything was served in a timely manner. We each enjoyed our meal and service, and will certainly return to Pazzaluna."
