  • "Not oriented as a Tapas place anymore. Food is still excellent. You can still take a Tapas type approach to dinner, but the selection is limited. Very nice selection of wine by the glass. Excellent service and nice ambience. Early in the evening the noise level is low to moderate. The seating on the first level is much more comfortable than on the second level, but on the second level the people watching is better."

  • "Pazo's never fails to please even though the menu has been changed. Menu now reflects an Italian flavor . A number of pasta dishes have been added. My rabbit ravioli with brown butter and peas sauces was outstanding; as was pasta with artichokes. Just the right seasoning. The lamb bresola was favorful. Chef Cano' cusiine continues to be innovative and creative. However, we did miss some of our favorite tapas like the wonderful crab shrimp fritters. Maybe a few traditional, seasonal tapas can be added to the menu Our server, Nathalie was excellent. Very helpful, attentive, friendly and warm. Like all the severs at the Tony Foreman's restaurants very knowledge about the menu. . The wine list has been reduced. Emphasis on Italian wines."

  • "The resaurant recently switched from a pure tapas menu to a Spanish/Italian Mediterranean menu. Many restaurants couldn't survive, but Pazo has and the change is for the better. We started with nice cocktails and had some wines that you wouldn't ordinarily see in a restaurant (aglianico and primitivo from southeastern Italy). Our food was very good (croquetas were a little bland, but nicely light.) with a nice tuna tartare and a terrific lamb ragu on my pasta. We had a Sicilian pizza that had a very nice bread flavor that can be lost in a thick pizza. Overall, a very good meal and an excellent experience with great service."

  • "An intriguing restaurant! Love the set up. The food was, as always, as high quality as we've come to expect from a Foreman/Wolf restaurant. The smoked mushroom bisque was amazing, as was the venison! Only suggestion: if the restaurant offers two different sized portions for such things as champagne. (I.e. 3oz vs 6 oz), the server really should inquire as to which size the customers want, rather than assume the larger of the two sizes."

PAZO is just another example of how to make it look so easy to put together an experienced & professional team of knowledgeable experts who understand how to treat a client to an exquisite dining experience. The knowledgeable suggestions re the wine list; the food was prepared exceptionally (blending of flavors was more than a marriage/partnership, it is is a true love affair); and, as always the service was beyond compare. (could not have been any more knowledgeable - about food, drinks, wine, etc., more professional and charming in the service, or a better listener to what we wanted for the evening. )"

  • "Pazo used to be one of our favorite places to eat when we lived downtown. When we returned last night, after a year hiatus, we were disappointed with the smaller tapas menu After waiting 15 minutes, even though we had a reservation and being told 3 times that it would be just a moment (which held us off from ordering a drink at the bar) we were seated and really enjoyed our server. Most of what we ordered was delicious-the pizza crostini pizza with bacon and forest mushrooms-yum! But the croquettes were somewhat bland and the filling of the empanadas was dry and needed a cheese to hold the filling together. The dessert menus has never appealed to us and we tried Chazz next door for a delicious flour less chocolate cake."

  • "I was very disappointed to see that Pazo, which used to be one of the best Spanish restaurants, is now a mediocre italian restaurant. FOOD - I did enjoy the venison and I would recommend it. It was very tender and the sauce was delicious. But the risotto wasn't a risotto. It was made of potato cubes instead of Arborio rice. How can you be an Italian restaurant and call potatoes Risotto? - The jamon iberico was below my expectations. It was not bad, but I wasn't impressed. - The espresso was undrinkable (incredibly bitter). A must fix for an italian restaurant. SERVICE Please ask your customer if you can take something out of the table before you do. Overall, the personnel is not trained to serve in a high-end restaurant."

  • "The unusual renovation of the building and the superb food make Pazo stand out. we ate grilled shrimp with chopped tomatoes/garlic - best dish of the night. Tried tiny manilla clams and they were served piping hot - it was a simple dish, but really good. I like the way the chef incorporates local food into the menu. Our waiter, Adam, was serious and sincere, not stuffy. He checked to make sure the olives on the pizza were the right ones. Nick, the floor manager remembered us from a previous visit and brought us a sparkling wine toast to celebrate our anniversary. Good restaurant to go with a large group of people with different food tastes and its equally fun for a couple. It always feels like a special occasion to us there."

  • "Went to Pazo one year ago and the experience was so wonderful we decided to celebrate my niece's 30th birthday there. This experience was totally different. There was no chef's menu offered- last year we paired it with there wine pairing option. We were served expensive cocktails that tasted like fruit juice sans alcohol. The waitress was completely inept- she served the wine to when she brought a lit birthday cake to my niece after I told her to wait until we three returned from the ladies room. If my niece had not spoken up she would have sang Happy Birthday all alone to herself lol. Also, she attempted to sell us a bottle of wine while we still had a bottle opened. For a $300 tab for four there must be a better choice in Baltimore."

  • "This was my first trip to Pazo and I absolutely loved the decor and ambience. The restaurant is very open and inviting and was a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy a tasty cocktail. The service was perfect and the food was good! My only advice is don't go hungry. Pazo is the perfect place for small plates and drinks, and for trying and sharing lots of unique dishes, but the portions are on the smaller side (which is NOT bad!!). So go willing to try lots of new things and order lots to share!!"

  • "Ambience was nice. Must have been ladies night; lots of 'em in groups. (Note to all Players: This was a Saturday night. Happy hunting:)) Had to wait over 20 mins for our table even though we had a reservation. And we were the only people at the bar! That was a bad sign. Appetizer and pasta course were very good as expected, but the main course was compromised when there was a mix-up with her order and I waited almost 10 mins for utensils and, of course, the food got cold. Finally, the sommelier's recommendation was way off the mark; what we drank was better suited for hard Government cheese. We expected better from a Wolf-Foreman property but alas, this ain't Charleston. Not even close. Maybe next time."

  • "We were quite disappointed with our meals Saturday night. The food was unremarkable, bland, and unappealing. We ordered duck, calamari (definite yucky texture), tuna (excellent). Overall, we were unimpressed with the menu changes. Regarding drinks, I ordered a primativo wine (nothing extraordinary- but for $17). I think it was way over priced for the type of wine. The martinis and cocktails were very good. Historically, Pazo has been one of our "go-to" spots. Unfortunately, we will be finding a new go-to restaurant."

  • "I wanted to give it a 2nd chance after bad service on my 1st experience. We started at the bar, which was great. Awesome bartenders and great drinks. He knew his menu and what we would like. We should have stayed at the bar. Slow service on what was actually not a very busy night. The food was average, two of us had to send things back, and then some food didn't even come out. Getting a 2nd drink took 20+ minutes. At the end of the night, the bill was incorrect and we had to wait 30 minutes to look at our credit card sitting on the table while our waiter sat and talked to the cooks. This place is trying to be an upscale NYC style eatery, but the food doesn't deliver for the price, and the service is TERRIBLE."

  • "My boyfriend suggested this place because he had been here several years ago. He was pleasantly surprised it was even better than he re- membered. He told me how the building was an old warehouse and they had used that to create the ambiance. It's beautiful inside, like you are transported back in time to a more elegant period. From the maitre de to the waiter we were treated as special guests. Each course was tastier than the last. The staff split many of our choices so we could share.the waiter helped us select just the right wine and the right amount of dishes. Lamb pasta ragu to the venison, incredibly savory. Don't skip desert. We'd come back again!"

  • "I have been in Pazo twice. Fist time was for valentines 4 years ago. As expected the service was bad, because it was crowded. Now, it was not crowded, and service was slow. It's a pricy location and the service was below average. I struggle to get our servers attention many times. For our main course one of our four meals did not come out on time. Then we waited and our meals were cold when the right meal came out. The server did not apologize for it. They manager came out and apologize later. He did not offer anything to make up for the bad experience. The place where our table was located was so cold, none if us at the table could take our coats off. The food was good, but I am left disappointed on the second chance at Pazo."

  • "I had a wonderful dinner here with a few friends on a business trip whom I hadn't seen in a while. The noise level was perfect, quiet enough for us to talk and catch up, but energetic still. Portion sizes are great, and the food was fantastic. The last time I had pasta this good was in Italy itself! Good for romantic atmosphere as well, I would definitely want to bring my wife out here on her birthday or our anniversary."

  • "My sister and I come to Baltimore for an annual event and have dined at Pazo every year for the past several - there's no reason to go anywhere else. Menu is a nice combination of small and larger plates; suggested wines are excellent. We did the chef's tasting menu with paired wines this year - five courses. Jamon with fruit mostardo; a manchego treviso salad; swordfish with braised fennel and capers; hanger steak with vegetable gratin and haricots verts; and a banana zabagloine. Delicious. The restaurant has changed slightly over the years, and for the first time this year, there was not an absolute crush at the bar; hopefully this is not a lack of interest in Pazo, but a reflection of good options elsewhere."

  • "Pazo has gotten a lot of hype from my friends and I had high expectations. We got a lot of small plates, so we could try as much as possible. The things I enjoyed most were the pasta - Lamb Ragu and Artichoke Ravioli. It was too expensive for level of quality though. Also, our server was all over the place. I'm usually pretty easy to please but unfortunately Pazo didn't really do it for me."

  • "I'm a Baltimore local and was a big fan of your restaurant. So I was very excited to bring my out of town guests on Saturday Feb 22 for dinner. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The server accidently spilled 1/2 bottle of water all over the table and me. She apologized profusely and brought napkins but was not the person who took our order. The head server handling our table order did not acknowledge the incident even though there was a visible napkin on the banquette to soak up the remaining liquid and I moved seats. She mentioned she knew about the accident after prompting but made no offer to make the situation right. I will not be going back nor recommending anyone to this restaurant. They do not take care of you."

  • "Pazo is not the same old Pazo that we knew and loved. The menu's focus has changed from tapas to more entrees. Many of our old favorites are gone from the menu. We love to try new things but miss our old favorites. The service was not up to par....our water glasses did not get refilled, when we asked our server, it took another 5 minutes before they were filled. Inexcusable!"

  • "Terrible service,overpriced drinks,so-so food.The only thing Pazo has is atmosphere. It's noisy, so not the place for a quiet dinner. We went with a group of friends & had to wait about 20 minutes even with a reservation. Ordered drinks in the bar, but the drinks didn't come until we were about to be seated.Ordered mojitos ($11) and they came out in a small 8 oz. or so glass that was all ice. 2 sips of the straw and your drink was done.My friend complained & waiter just said she could order another & he would tell them to make it with less ice.Courses were not brought out to the table at the same time.Pasta was bland.Fish was good.Waiter did not want to accommodate someone w/ nut allergies.Coffee came way after dessert. Long wait for check."

  • "After heading to Pazo with the intention of ordering from the restaurant week menu my friends and I decided to stick with the regular options because we happen to be big seafood lovers. I ordered the tuna tartare and the stuffed calamari and tried my friend's steak tartare as well. Everything was cooked to perfection, prepared very well, and extremely fresh. The dirty blue martini was also spot on. I will definitely be going back again and highly recommend Pazo. The ambience was great. t's a dark and loud lounge-like spot perfect for a late night dinner with friends or a romantic date."

  • "Dropped off our son for a weekend event and were looking for a downtown place for a relaxed but "nice" dinner during Baltimore Restaurant Week. We've been to Pazo before but this time was even better. Got there early and it was nice and quiet. Great cocktail to start, were seated upstairs and enjoyed friendly service and super food. The veal shoulder melted in my mouth. We'll be back!"

  • "Went there thinking that we would get a chance to taste some great dishes for an even better price. The dishes they served were good, just not that impressed. I did like, however, the large noodle the use in a lot of their Sicilian dishes. Probably wouldn't go back outside of restaurant week with as many good restaurants that are in the Canton/Fells/Harbor East area."
