We were promptly seated and the restaurant has really interesting decor. As soon as the waiter arrived we ordered cocktails and an appetizer. We finished eating the appetizer and sat for a maybe five more minutes before our cocktails arrived. Once we finally got them, they were very good. The food is fine for the price and we like the variety of choices on the menu. Overall, it was just ok.

Good food, have been here many times before. I almost always order the lamb/beef dishes and the desserts are good too. Service can been slow sometimes but the food is always good. Don't forget to try the good desserts and the good hummus trio.

Have not been there for a year and it's become surprisingly disappointing. In the lounge, the middle sections were removed to make way for a dance floor. In the menu, a few appetizers that I remember I liked (especially the wings) are gone. Also their cocktail specials menu had shrunk, however, the lychee martini I had was excellent. Our 1st hookah flavor, white grape, was disappointing. It lasted way too short. The next flavor, Skittles, was much better. But quite frankly, my e-cig vaporizer gives way more flavor and body. Food was good. but the service was lacking, especially when it got busier (but not slamming). Overall, the cool vibe lounge I remember gave way to a techno EDC style club where you can't even hear your friends talking.

  • Good Food, not good service

This was my first visit to Paymon's. I was able to easily make a reservation through Opentable.com and upon my arrival the hostess was friendly and seated us promptly. Unfortunately, that's where the good service ended. I felt our server rushed us through our meal...she asked us if we were ready to order on her first visit to the table and brought me a box for my leftovers while my husband still had a lot of his dinner left to eat. I was happy with the menu selection and my dinner was very good. I recommend the restaurant if you are looking for good Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. I will most likely return for the good food...I just won't have any high expectations for good service!

Had a marvelous time with the family for Mother's Day, 4 adults and two children. As for the food….the Gyro's were assembled in an odd manner, salad on the very bottom of the pita, shaved meat and lots of tziki (sp) on top. They just split them open and ate like a salad. The tandoori chicken was good, the beef kabob ordered medium came out very well done and dry with salad on the plate. The rice was excellent as was the hummus and Athens fries. However my son in law and I were looking forward to the green bean/tomato combo on the plate. I commented to our server and he said "oh the beans are available you just have to ask for them as they added salad (lettuce & feta) to some of the entree's." Disappointing. The service was very good.

Vegetarian friends were visiting and I stumbled upon Paymon's...a great choice. More than enough vegetarian choices and more than enough that aren't, too. Interesting concept, truly Mediterranean with Italian, Greek, and more. Nothing one note about Paymon's at all. We shared appetizers which were great...really, really good hummus, I have to say. I had mousakka for the entree and loved it...massive portion, had it for lunch today, too. Ingredients were fresh, presentation was great, portions are plentiful, more than enough vegetarian options if you're so inclined. Service was really solid---David K, according to the check, present and knowledgeable but didn't hang on too much either, a great balance. First visit/won't be the last.

I was looking for good, traditional Greek food like I'm used to from Greektown restaurants in Chicago, and this isn't it. The saganaki was good, but the steak on my shish kebab didn't have much flavor and the rice was overcooked. My husband liked his gyros platter, but I thought the lamb was dry. Atmosphere of the place was fun and the service was excellent.

Had lunch w/a group of 5 people and it was a little slow in getting our food but I understand the meats do take time to cook though well worth the wait. The food is delicious but a little pricey as they do not have lunch specials. Service could've been better; our waitress was horrible.

We frequent Paymons on W. Sahara and service is usually ok. Sat eve 1/31/2014 however was an incredible disapointment. We saw our server 3 times from begining to end, food runner brought our food before clearing clear plates and just kind of pushed dirty dishes out of the way and when I said something, simply said 'yup'. He could have cared less and it showed. We waited for at least 15minutes for dishes to be cleared from table when we were finished. Several other servers and staff kept walking past our table and did nothing. Gave our server desert request and asked for another soda. After 10minutes we gave up, canceled our order, paid bill and left. Food was good but HORRIBLE experience and nobody seemed to give a dang.

I've been here countless times and it's always good, all around.I've been with kids and just with adults. The prices are good. Never a bad experience.Except for the other night. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre. There was a large party probably 50 high schoolers so I hope it was because of that, but really no excuse. The waiter nor the hostess could be found and when we saw a server to help he said "I'm off duty" and walked out the door. Once we got the check we waited a while then just went up to the hostess stand to pay and the hostess still couldn't be found.Maybe I watch too much restaurant impossible but it felt like paymons is headed in that direction.I hope that's not the case.

Second year in a row we chose Paymons for our office Christmas party, and we were again not disappointed (even though a few of my coworkers are pretty picky)! Wonderful food and service (ask for Judy for your waitress, she rocks!), something for everyone from Italian to Indian to Persian (imo the best they make as the owner is Persian). We went to the W Sahara location but either place would be great for a gathering. I live closer to the Maryland Pkwy location (LOVE the courtyard!) and I eat there a couple of times a month, so obviously I love eating at Paymons!

Great concept, unfortunately Paymons had only one person working the lounge area, who was acting as bartender, server, bus person and manager! She was overwhelmed but still managed to put out great drinks! Unfortunately it took 20 min before anyone took our order. With added staff this could be a great restaurant and lounge.

We are regulars at Paymons. They have Vegan options, a big bonus, and the food is always on point. The Hooka lounge is a great place to have a leisurely dinner and cocktails, where hours can be spent puffing on hooka after you've dug into their amazing stuffed grape leaves, Athens fries, falafel, and hummus. My one and only complaint is this: I quit smoking Jan 1st. We were in a group and the rest of the group was smoking hooka. I was told I wasn't allowed to use my e-cig. that really frustrated me because I'm a recovering smoker, and here I am sitting in a room full of hooka smoke while the group puffed and laughed away, and I couldn't use my water-based vaporizer. That's the first time they've ever said something to me about it.

How can I say this? There was nothing really bad about Paymon's, there was just nothing that was good--it was mediocre. The pitas didn't taste freshly heated, the hummus had little or no taste, the kibbee tasted OK but looked like a meatloaf sandwich with no bread, the chicken scalloppini was fine but the pasta was mushy and the sauce was too oily, the tables and chairs in the restaurant reminded me of those in a college dining hall. We will not return.

Took my girlfriend for her birthday and so noted in my Open Table reservation. EVERY restaurant I have gone to provided a special dessert for the occasion. Here, NOTHING! As I was leaving, told waiter and his only reply was sorry. Told cashier, who has the personality of a snail, and she said I should have told waiter. Owner not there. Food tasted as if had been prepared in advance and was heated for us.

This was my families ristorante visit to Paymons, impressed the host were expecting us thru the open table reservation. But disappointed the menu was limited at 930p on a holiday. They switch to late night menus at 9p but we were able to order what we wanted, made an exception. This was good service our waitress was sweet, but we sat for 5 minutes with no flatware to eat our salad until we flagged her down. Then we asked or water with lemon but was only given water no lemons. I liked the free glass of wine, and it was good. We will go again, but hope the server is more attentive to guests needs, and still be sweet.
