  • "It must have been an off night for staff. There was only 6-8 groups and staff was bored. We had the fajita's and the condiments came after our food was delivered. Fantastic margaritas. I would give the restaurant another try after the summer events slow down."

  • "We have been to Paxia several times since it was recommended to us by a friend and it's become one of our top Mexican places to visit in the city. I made reservations there on Thursday night for my wife's birthday party, we were expecting 18 people. They seated us in our own private dining room, which was perfect. The service was fantastic all night long and the food was of course delicious. I recommend Paxia for anyone looking for delicious Mexican food, and it's also great for large parties."

  • "We had a group of 12 for Mother's Day, and we sat in the nice private-ish back room by the fireplace. I love this restaurant's food and decor--I've been a few times before. Excellent food, and great atmosphere inside and out. From what I've seen, it's not ever overcrowded but always lively. This time the food was excellent as usual, and the service was alright. The server was very nice but she began to run a little slow at the end and then one of our guests who came a little later and put in an order wound up waiting around 30 minutes for his food. We did have two infants with us so our table was a little crazy, and the place was packed--other times I have been the service was better. In this case it was not the best. But I will be back!"

  • "I love Mexican food. I also love authentic Mexican food that isn't just burritos and enchiladas. While Paxia offers these, they offer more traditional dishes from Mexico like Mole. We went at 6:30 and there was a live band very close to our table. I'm not a fan of loud music over my dinner conversation and 6:30 seemed like it probably wasn't the crowd a live band was in business for. Aside from my preference for not having loud noise the dinner was great."

The tilapia ceviche was excellent, they should offer that as a separate dish like the shrimp ceviche and not just on the trio ceviche platter. Can't wait to go back and try one of the Mole dishes."

They had the music blaring to a level that was uncomfortable and the waiter said the owner wouldn't let the employees touch the music. Food was ok. Presentation is great but (for example) on a quesadilla they had skimped on cheese. I'd like to see this place improve and hope it will."

Our server was helpful and cheerful, and we scored a seat next to the fireplace. We also appreciate that during restaurant week, we did not have to order from the restaurant week menu but could choose from it. Chocolate cake topped with flan and horchata is a treat we did not expect! Thanks."

  • "We were a group of eight and seated in the fireplace room at Paxia. A snowy and cold evening made the fireplace an appreciated surprise. The friendly waitress took our drink orders and promptly served them. Several in our party decided to order off the menu instead of ordering from the Restaurant Week menu. Those of us that did the RW menu were treated to a vegetable soup full of veggies or delicately spiced meatballs beautifully plated. We were pleased we ordered the pork entree . Tender pulled pork in a smokey, mild sauce. Dessert choices were a chocolate cake flan with rum sauce served separately or Tres Leches. Both were generous servings and a nice close to the meal. Delightful evening, suburb food. We will return soon!!"

  • "Wend for denver food week. their fixed menu didn't really hilite what they do well. the duck mole was dumped with sauce and overcooked. the steak was very bland and presented no different than far cheaper places to eat. desserts unremarkable. the mini peppers were like something I could order at costco. the poloma cocktail was good and the ceviche was excellent. I just didn't feel they paid much attention or care to the $30 dinner menu."

  • "We took a chance and visited this restaurant on Friday, February 7, 2014. In short, we were extremely disappointed. Having never dined at Paxia before, I sought the advice of our waitress for dinner suggestions. When I asked our waitress what she would consider to be the specialty of the house, she highly recommended the Carnitas. If that is the specialty, this place is in trouble. The cold plate that the meal was served on offered 2 dried out pieces of pork, a dollop of guacamole, and what I can only describe as a side of coleslaw. It was so bad I could barely wash it down with my Margarita. When the waitress asked how my meal was, I told her it was "pretty dry." Her response was to giggle."
