The Cowboy steak was amazing. My wife and I loved the Jumbo Shrimp appetizer, the shrimp were huge and the cocktail sauce was wonderful. We both agreed the sweet potato fries were the best we have ever had. The food, service, and environment was fantastic.

We've been going to Pauli's for special dinners for many years. Although it's been a while since we've been bowled over by a meal there, our latest dinner was quite good. Three of us ordered the scallops, which were properly cooked and very tasty. My husband said his pork chop was good too, not overcooked or dry. Have the bread pudding for dessert -- I'm sorry I didn't. Service was prompt, well timed and friendly. I learned that in some circles, apparently it's not appropriate to let a wine bottle cork pop as it's being extracted from the bottle. Our waiter apologized for this "error" a little more than necessary. We all enjoyed our time spent at Pauli's and will keep it in rotation for special occasion meals

We have dined at Paulies several times over the past 15 years. We have always enjoyed our experience. This time was not so good. The beef was charred in excess and over cooked. While I like to be served in courses, I think 3 hours is a bit long. Might have been an off night. Everyone has them!

We visited Pauli's for the first time on June 30, 2012. It was my wife's 40th Birthday and we wanted a nice romantic dinner. Pauli's made it happen. A nice corner table made it feel like we were all to ourselves. I had the ribeye (delicious) and my wife had the Chef's special for the evening which was the mixed grill (chicken sausage, quail and venison), whcih was very, very good! Good wine and beer selection. We were too full for dessert, but they all sounded really good.

  • I took a party of five there
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 6/13/2012
I took a party of five there for my wife's birthday on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was not all that crowded. It took an hour to get our entrees. We had two appetizers, five entrees, two bottles of moderately priced wine, and four deserts. One steak was ordered medium-well and came out closer to rare - we had to send it back. Overall the food quality was good but not exceptional. The place is certainly not in a premium location and the decor is less attractive than almost all restaurants in this price range. $375ish dollars? I think the cost-to-value is totally out of line. I don't mind dropping $375 for a special event, but if I am going to do it, I expect the decor to be amazing, and the service and food to be exceptional.

Visiting Huntsville and came across Pauli's add in a guest directory in my hotel. This place did not disappoint! Restaurant doesn't appear like much on the outside, but is a wonderful little gem inside. We had a member of our party who needs to avoid gluten, and the server was very knowledgable about which menu items were gluten free. Fresh dressings on the delicious salads, wonderful delicious entrees. We will definitely be back.

The food was amazing!! My husband and I both are culinary chefs. We've moved here from Atlant, Ga where the restaurants and food are hard to compare to. We have dined out in Huntsville, AL many times and we're always dissatisfied by the food, service, and prices. Pauli's was outstanding from the first second we sat down. I would recomend the Halibut. I had food envy when our dinner came because I ordered the Filet and my husband got the Halibut. The filet was perfectly cooked but his Halibut was phenomenal!! The only thing I would change is the prices. They could stand to come down about $3-$5 on the whole menu. I would love to frequent Pauli's but with the current prices, it will have to fall into the " Special Occasion only" category.

Food was very good. I had the crawfish cakes and the cheddar burger with fries. My wife had a steak--not sure which one--with mashed potatoes and broccoli. She really enjoyed it. She had her heart set on the Shrimp and grits, though, which we were informed that they were out of on this particular Friday night. That was a bit of a disappointment for her. We did appreciate the discount we had received via e-mail for our anniversary through their e-mail list.

We have been to Pauli's quite often, but last night was especially memorable. We celebrated our oldest daughter's college graduation and also the 21st birthday of our youngest daughter. Two very special events that we've celebrated earlier out of town, but nothing is like celebrating at home in a place we all love. The food was outstanding and our night was as perfect as life gets. Thank you to everyone at Pauli's for making it such a great evening.

My halibut was severely overcooked, althoo My halibut was severely overcooked although with a tasteful thin crust. While it has become the think to do in most restaurants, servers should not interrupt the conversation of diners asking hos everything is. In stead they should keep a close eye on their tables so that when a diner wants them he can just lift his hand and the server will respond. .

This was our first time at Pauli's although we have lived in the area previously for 6 years and more recently for 4 years. We decided to dine here when we received a Birthday coupon in the mail. Friends had dined here and said it was pricey but wonderful for special occasions. We were very impressed. The area we were seated in was intimate and quite. Drinks and food were served in a timely manner allowing us to relax and chat between courses. The food was awesome. We are seafood lovers and we were really impressed with the way the Trout and Haddock were prepared. Billy was an excellent server, very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the food. He was very attentive to our needs. We look forward to dining there again.

Pauli's delivered again. Our primary server, Kyle, was excellent. He was helped by another server who's name I didn't catch. Wife and I both started out with the creamy tomato soup which was excellent (and I'm not a tomato fan). For entrees, I had the trout, my wife had the scallops and both were very good. Serving sizes were larger than we could eat. We finished off the night sharing a piece of the key lime pie. We liked that the crust was thin and not soggy, which brought out the flavor of the lime that much more. Top it all off with a bottle of Whitehaven savignon blanc and how could you go wrong?

My Wife and I were both very impressed! Our table was available at the time it was reserved. We were greeted promptly with a kind and knowledgeable server. We ordered a glass of wine as well as a beer. They were brought to our table in under 60 seconds. Thats imnpressive. Our server had a great feel for our table and brought the courses out at the proper times. The food was everything I had hoped it would be. All of which was prepared in a aesthetically pleasing way. My wife's Filet Mignon was a perfect med-rare. My fish was light and flaky. The food meets their High Expectations but the professionalism of the entire establishment is what makes you feel like your money was well spent. We will be going back as soon as my piggy bank allows.

You will not leave this place hungry! They treat you like a guest, not a customer, and you will feel welcome. I have eaten here several times and have not had anything less than a wonderful experience each time. The attention is very personal, but you will not feel either stalked or abandoned. Although the atmosphere is elegant and cozy, you will feel welcome in jeans, and not out of place if you're more dressed up. There was a large party going on in the private room, but we weren't disturbed at all. Having been in one of those large parties, you still get the cozy ambiance and personal attention as in the main room.

This was a return visit. The food was not as good as previously, although better than the majority of restaurants in the area. The main course was turbot stuffed with crab, and they had a hard time getting the right mixture of heat for the cooked turbot and coolness for the crab meat. A warm plate would have helped. We had to send the dish back to have the fish heated. The server tried very hard to please but still missed details.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING!! I must relate our experience at this point. My wife absolutely loves the sautéed duck breast with duck sausage that Pauli's used to have on their menu. Unfortunately, it is no longer on the menu so I contacted Paul and he brought in some duck breast and duck sausage just for dining pleasure. Now I ask everyone, is that not the epitome of customer service? As usual, the meal was perfectly prepared and this is the reason I frequent Pauli's!

One of the servers finally noticed. Our table was in the path to the kitchen and every time someone walked by, which was constant, there was a very cool breeze. I liked my entree, my wife didn't enjoy hers. We were comp'd dessert due to the wait.

I was very surprised to discover that the restaurant still allows smoking. All restaurants in the area have banned smoking for some time now and you do not realize how nice it is to eat in a smoke free environment. My wife and I both smelled like an ash tray by the time we left. The restaurant crammed a few extra tables in for Valentine's Day and the atmosphere was very uncomfortable with other diners sitting way too close. It was impossible to have a private conversation at our table. The service was also extremely slow due to the extra number of people. Our waiter kept apologizing but it was obvious that the kitchen could not handle the number of people. The quality of the food was very good but it all tasted like cigarette smoke.
