We spent our New Year's dinner there. Although there was a special meal already planned, they accommodated our dietary restrictions and the food wasn't compromised at all. We will definitely make it a special occasion destination the time in Dundee. The regular menu looks outstanding! The pace of the courses was perfect for talking and savoring. The portions were perfect, and the little amuse a surprise! Thank you again Paulee for a special evening.

Paule'e replaced Farm to Fork in Dundee but hasn't yet been noticed. If you're doing the Dundee crawl during the week, stop in and relax a while. There is an engaging fire in the dining room and a glass-sided wine cellar with an excellent inventory. The full bar boasts the best liquors. We had brunch on a Sunday. The food was superior and the service matched. We indulged in a dessert at the end of our meal - a gingerbread with lemon sorbet and cranberry compote - heaven. We intend to try these guys for dinner. Check the website for events and specials.

The food was delicious! It was definitely on the spendy side for what you got. That was my only biff. Your bowl of soup consisted of 3/4 cup of soup literally. $70 for lunch for three isn't even that expensive in downtown Portland at one of our nicest restaurants. I will mention to my guests that your prices are on the higher side. The service was perfect! Since I recommend so many people to your restaurant, I was hoping we could at least get our corkage complimentary. Thank you. Laurie Simms, Concierge at the Nines Hotel

We visited on 12/14/12 with high expectations based on Sel Gris experiences, but left disappointed. Service was very good - personable and well-informed. Wines by the glass were numerous and well-selected. Despite the light crowd and a reservation, we were sat in the lounge, and the time between courses was awkwardly long. Opening courses of hamachi and carrots three ways were exceptional. A simple arugula salad was actually underdressed (odd given the promoted banyul dressing). A pork belly dish was tasty, but the belly was overcooked. Most disappointing was the sablefish. Each component well-prepared, but so many competing flavors (sable, sweetbreads, chantrelles, cabbage, fennel, pomegranate seeds, sauce), that it was not enjoyable.

Overall a very pleasant dinner. Comfortable atmosphere. Felt the kitchen was trying a little too hard to show their skills at garnishing and missed delivering 4-star dishes We enjoyed the arugula and pear salad, the halibut was nicely cooked although the lemon mereingue was too difficult to separate from the plate to know if it was good or a gimmick. The veal steak was flavorful yet rather fatty and twice as big as necessary for a generous dinner serving. Pleasant waiter and polite wine steward.

If you are looking for a quiet evening out, I would not recommend this restaurant. Paulee' was very noisy with bad acoustics. To add to the noise impact, the sound system kept cutting in and out, so something that was supposed to add to the ambiance, detracted quite a bit from it. Paulee' is a large concrete and metal space that was converted to a restaurant and it lacks anything that could be considered cozy. In addition, we had to keep our coats for the entire meal given that it was very cold inside and we were sitting in a draft. As for the food - every dish was incredibly salty. I don't mind salt, but when every item is heavily salted, all you taste is salt and not the food. The lamb was excellent, but all else was just adequat

Great location in a very scenic part of Oregon. Service was excellent - very attentive, personal, and friendly. Our waiter made an effort to get to know us and even came outside to thank us in the parking lot. The food was of fine quality as well - reasonable portions, elegant presentation, and great tasting. Paulee is able to offer a menu that can go head-to-head with most top-tier locations in Portland or Seattle, but at the same time provide their guests with a more inviting and comfortable atmosphere. I plan on returning someday.

This was our first time to Paulee and the food was absolutely delightful: the coffee-rubbed elk carpaccio with yogurt & granola the most interesting, delicious combination; the arugula paired unexpectedly well with delicata squash; and the 42-day dry-aged ribeye steak one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. There were occasional check-ins by the chef, Daniel, which was a nice touch as well. A sheep’s cheese plate ended the meal with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Unfortunately, the only downside, was that the service was terribly slow. We arrived at 6:45pm and didn't leave until 11pm. Aside from the service, the food was amazing, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice place to eat in wine country.

We had a very enjoyable anniversary dinner at Paulee. The service was exceptional as our waiter was very helpful adapting to our vegetarian requirements. He even brought us a specially prepared vegetarian amuse bouche. The ambience has an industrial yet warm and inviting feel to it and it reminded us of the feeling of Healdsburg wine country. While the portions of the food were rather small, after tasting our way through a couple courses plus dessert we were quite satisfied. The quality of the ingredients and overall presentation were also very good.

Our first time at Paulee. Although the wine list is extensive, I found the wine prices to be high and very few choices of wines under $50.00 per bottle. Wines by the glass were pricey. being in the wine country, promoting local wineries one would hope that the pricing is more reasonable. On the other hand the food was well prepared and presented. We were 3 people for lunch and each entree, mussels in charred tomato broth, grilled cheese sandwich with avocado and reuben were all tasty. We did not have desert.

As always the food shines. They just added calamari on their menu. This is not your heavily battered, thickly sliced calamari. It was ethereal with very thin sliced small rings of calamari barely battered, but crispy. Served with an Asian spiked sauce. Delish! The next time I go, I don't want that "for the table". I want it for just me!

It was unfortunate that our dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday coincided with the restaurant having a large group on a long table down the center of the restaurant. The noise level was intolerable and spoilt what was intended to be a romantic evening. The ambience of the room is good, I've only rated it poor because of the noise. We both thought our food was excellent; my venison was very tender, and I know how easy it is to overcook and dry out this meat. The wine list is also excellent - a large selection from Oregon and an interesting selection from elsewhere. I'm in the wine business and taste many Oregon wines so appreciate "wines from elsewhere" when I go out for dinner. Please solve the noise problem and we'll come back.

My husband and I, along with another couple, ate lunch at Paulee. We were disappointed with the meal. Some of the items we wished to order on the menu were not available. We decided on the halibut fish and chips. The batter surrounding the halibut was heavy and bland. The seasoning on the taro chips was delicious, but the chips were very oily. The coleslaw with a curry dressing was good. The ice cream and sorbets were very good. The sorbets tasted like fresh fruit. The dining had a pleasant ambiance and the service was attentive and excellent.

We had great food, good service, and a very fun evening. The facility was beautiful and a great wine cellar. The food presentation was beautiful(almost too pretty to eat, but we did)!! We loved the idea of the fresh herbs and flowers decorating the plates. From the moment we arrived to when we left, we felt very special. The staff was very friendly and we love sitting at the chef's bar and watching them cook and watching the pastry chef work his wonders. The drive from Beaverton to Dundee was easy with no problem at all. It was faster going to Dundee that to some restaurants on the East Side of Portland.

Overall, we greatly enjoyed our dinner at Paulee. The portion sizes are pretty small though - our friend had the ravioli and I think got 5 for a portion. She was not happpy. The rest of us had the pork and it was delicious. The calamari appetizer was the best calamari I've ever had. We brought in our own wine because it was a special occasion and we wanted to share a specific bottle (corking fee was $20) but their wine list is extensive. The only other minor quibble is that it can get pretty noisy but that just means they are getting good word-of-mouth and staying busy. We will definitely be back again.

In a word, outstanding. I can't even articulate how fabulous everything was. While the ingredients and preparations seem complex, the outcome is poetry accessible by every palate. Puts every other meal I've had in my home state to shame. The server was attentive and knowledgeable if only a little haughty. Didn't faze us, because our focus was on the food: zucchini ribbons, calamari, borscht, halibut and a "sundae." Took a reviewer's advice and sat in the open kitchen area, which was cozy and had a nice energy. Can't wait to go back!
