Paul Martin's American Grill - Westlake VillageExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. Very happy to find this restaurant!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat all around place!!!!Been here a few times before and always had a great meal. This time brought mom for Mother's Day brunch and she loved it! Said its her new fav restaurant!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, spotty service. My 4th time and the food is always fresh, delicious with large portions. Service is friendly, but not as professional as I would expect.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMclassyI felt this restaurant was was nicely laid out with a very high end modern feel atmosphere. Service was excellent food was pretty good and the wine and beer list was very good as well. Overall great experience and great date spot5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThank you!Paul Martin's went out of their way to accomodate us on Mother's Day which is arguably one of the busiest restaurant days of the year. Our reservation was for 4 and we grew to 6. They couldn't accomodate us inside when I called but offered to hold a table on the patio for us. We arrived and were pleasantly surprised to find that they had accomodated us inside. Food is always good and bar/wine list is excellent. Thank you again!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for Mothers Day, VeryWent for Mothers Day, Very nice menu. Manager came over and gave all of the mothers at our table a $25.00 gift card for a return visit. Outstanding. Our server Beth was totally accomodating especially since I am on a gluten free diet. Menu denotes all of the gf items as well. Very diverse menu!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely in the Fav 5The food service and atmosphere is excellent. There were four of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. This has become a new favorite and I will frequent this restaurant!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat valueWhat a pleasant surprise when my friend and I arrived at our reservation time to find you had a wonderful lunch special for $11.00
My friend has the enchiladas and I had the Salmon Sandwich, and both were excellent.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMRun don't walk to Paul MartinsService is fantastic.. Truly delicious farm house food. It's one of the few restaurants I've been too that I see so many things I want to try on the menu. Food and drinks took a little long but they were very attentive along the way and when my entree has to go back due to not well done enough the manager and our to apologize and to thank me for allowing them to fix it. Also... Host seating me heard me say I forgot my readers and he went and got me a pair ... They were cute too. Great addition to the area ... So happy it's in MY town... All the buzz!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI like this place. It isI like this place. It is unpretentious. The food is very good. The menu is constrained but varied and they seem to do it all well. There is much to be said for a smaller menu when each item is done well. Prices are reasonable.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI Keep Going Back...I hate to gush, but honestly, this place is awesome! The food couldn't be better, locally sourced (I'm not even a hippie), have been through three or four of the main entrees, all just outstanding.
Service is stellar, genuinely good folks. A very nice place, and on the lower side of pricey... pretty reasonable!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMService was excellent. TheService was excellent. The food is nothing out of the ordinary from other similarly priced restaurants.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThey have a great formulaThey have a great formula and they follow it. There are never surprises. Wait staff is knowledgable about the food and wine and very accommodating. Really a wonderful place. Some creative food ideas and a great Happy Hour seven days a week, although we were not there this time for Happy Hour.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful place to have lunchWonderful place to have lunch and dinner. The happy hour menu is also very nice. Drinks are great with a little extra to look at. The value of food is what we also come back for. I love this place. You can sit outside but your really sitting on Westlake blvd. I would put a beautiful screen up so that u can see out but it will reduce some of the traffic noise. Needs taller plants to block out some of the cars to. All and all it's one of the places to join with friends or have a date night. It's a winner in my book .4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat anniversary celebrationWe wanted a quiet table. The hostess sat us at a perfect spot in the wine bar.
Our waiter was attentive, informative and fun. All four dinners were delicious.
Couldn't ask for a more enjoyable evening!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food - they pride themselvesGood food - they pride themselves in fresh, sustainable fare. The salmon was wild caught and excellent! And the dessert (3 kinds of ice cream) was yummy, too. Restaurant is quite noisy so not a choice for a romantic meal but more of a family friendly place. Host & hostess were very friendly while the server was slightly inattentive. All-in-all a good place to go for a fresh, healthy, tasty meal.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGive it a try!The menu was varied and everyone in our group loved their choice. Everything was very fresh and had a lovely presentation. We only had cocktails with our dinner so we didn't look at the wine list. The ambiance was great. Our server was good - he did forget the salad that was supposed to come with the prime rib special and a hot tea at the end of the meal, but it wasn't the end of the world. Everyone in our party agreed that Paul Martin's is a keeper - we will definitely be back!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing place but ditch the ValetWe loved our waitress Ginger and the host and hostess were very lovely and helpful.
Everything was perfect but we did have one suggestion. We don't understand why there is a valet, complimentary or not, we don't like to leave our cars with valet. My husband just got out of the hospital this past Tuesday and this was the first time we could get out in 3 weeks. He has a bad heart and wears a portable defibrilator. We had to park far and walk because all of the close spots were blocked off with markers for valet and EMPTY?! Maddening.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat!First time visting Paul Martin's. Food was amazing, service great. Noise level high with very active bar centered in dining area. If I return I would request an outlying table. Food the most fresh I have ever had. Prices...moderate to high - but - an exceptional experience.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMNice decor, very upscale withoutNice decor, very upscale without feeling pretentious. Food is all prepared fresh and the portions are generous. Very nice bar and above average wine list. Highly recommend it for lunch or dinner.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMTop notch in Thousand OaksThis is a new restaurant in town and it doesn't disappoint. This was my 6th visit in the last 45 days. My only complaint was where we were seated - as every time someone came in the door, I had a cold draft of air blow on me and my guest. Won't sit there again. It was also close to the bar, so it was hard to have a conversation at times.
On the plus side, the food is UNBELIEVABLY good, service is top notch - and I will be back soon. I highly recommend this restaurant.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOur new fav restaurant inOur new fav restaurant in town!! LOVE the organic, farm-fresh food! It's about time! Our waitor, Scotty gave us amazing service! The last time we were there-the restaurant was VERY, VERY noisey like a lot of reviews claim. We made reservations early at 5:30 this time and the noise didn't affect us. Our party LOVED the salmon fish tacos, burger and the philly cheesesteak sandwich! We all agreed that we can't wait to go back!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was terrific. We hadFood was terrific. We had the Hanger Steak and the Short Ribs. Also the Mac N Cheese was crazy good. Haven't been yet, but I hear the Happy Hour is a home run.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service was excellent,Food and service was excellent, if u are looking for a quite romantic date night this is not the place, decibels are quite high.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAny time of day -My husband and I met a friend/business acquaintance for lunch and this was the perfect spot to impress him with someplace new in the neighborhood and have a quality uninterrupted conversation. We have been there several times for dinner and love it - lots of energy. Lunch is a much different atmosphere. Seems like you can't go wrong either way.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place!!!This was our 4th visit to Paul Martin's. Every time we go we enjoy it more and more.We went about a week or two ago and loved it, this time was even better. Great food, Great service. Would recommend it highly! We all drove over an hour to meet for this family event- well worth it. Great location!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough advertised by OpenAlthough advertised by Open Table if you dine on 3/31/13,I never received the $25 gift card from Paul Martins American Grill .3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service and food was excellent. The service and food was excellent. The manager stopped by more than once to check how everything was. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgable. We had wonderful, relaxed dining experience . No doubt that we will be coming back soon.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat job, all aroundPaul Martins delivers creative and well made drinks, tasty food with an emphasis on house-made, and service that is friendly, inobtrusive, and (surprise!) deferential (more on that in a bit). Splurge on one of the house specialty drinks - the bistro champagne lemonade was very good. The calamari was outstanding and uses a combination of corn meal and cake flour for the breading -- unique combo. The lunch steak salad and polenta dishes were well seasoned, well cooked, and were well portioned. The service was tremendous with our waiter offering tips on drinks (ok, he has a vested interest) and asking us how long we would like between our courses because he saw we were having a great conversation. Great job, all around.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Food was great! FreshThe Food was great! Fresh Farm food to the table...nothing is frozen. We really enjoyed the dining experience and plan to go back.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA few problems with gettingA few problems with getting a food order correct from the kitchen and the martinis can be a little too sweet (Cosmo) so be warned. Other than that, food was good, service was very good and attentive; nice to see a good white wine list since many restaurants focus on reds these days.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my 4th time diningThis was my 4th time dining at Paul Martin's. Their food is consistently fresh and cooked to perfection. Our Server Juan was always anticipating our needs and took excellent care of us. All of the staff at Paul Martin's are well trained. It is becoming one of my favorite Restaurants. Only complaint is I wish they are a few more choices on the menu and offered more sauces to compliment dishes.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food not only was localThe food not only was local and healthy but was absolutely delicious. And they made the best Lemon Drop Martini I have ever had! Will definitely recommend to friends....3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm a regularI am a regular at Paul Martins particularly for lunch. The food is always excellent, the staff attentive and they really love working there. The $11 lunch is excellent and a great value. Happy hour is another great value. The burger is great, grilled vegetables/polenta is a favorite and the arugula steak salad wonderful.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOutr third tiime there. ItOutr third tiime there. It was the best yet. Staff friendly and knowlegeable.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGive your review a title (optional)Great Fresh local food. Everything made from scratch.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe people that work at Paul'sThe people that work at Paul's seem to care about the experience and yet they are not too stuffy. There seems to be a team spirit there where as everyone helps each other, and it makes the experience relaxing. The food was outstanding and cooked as we requested.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe farm-to-table food atThe farm-to-table food at this new-to-the-neighborhood restaurant is quite good. The menu is varied and everything is fresh and made from scratch on site. The wine list is extensive and the bar scene is active. Their grilled artichoke, short ribs and cedar planked salmon are real winners. We made the reservation a full week in advance and requested a booth for the four of us which was denied when we checked in although there were two booths available and then given to parties of two. The noise level made conversation difficult so we might opt for a night other than Saturday. Service was excellent and staff was friendly.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
