A word from Paul Martin's American Grill - Scottsdale
Seasonal & Delicious.

With Paul Martin's American Grill, Brian Bennett and restaurateur Paul Fleming have realized a long-nurtured dream to create the restaurant "we've always wished was in our neighborhood."

At the heart of all great food is fresh, local, peak of the season ingredients. Paul Martin's aims to serve diners the best ingredients with meat raised in a humane and wholesome way, locally sourced produce, the best of both wild and farmed fish, artisan cheeses and cured meats from small local purveyors. The deep California-centric wine list twists and turns, by glass or bottle, through the Golden State's vineyards, with an occasional stop for an Oregon Pinot Gris or a Washington dry Riesling. Behind Paul Martin's elegantly rustic bar is an interesting array of craft beer and spirited cocktails with fresh garnishes. Good times and thoughtful food are a way of life at Paul Martin's American Grill.

My husband and I went to Paul Martin's after reading about it in an article in Phoenix magazine. We had the skirt steak and it was incredible. The roasted corn on the cob was fabulous. The desserts were amazing. We had wonderful, attentive service and didn't have a long wait for the food even though the restaurant was busy. We were glad we had made reservations; we were seated immediately. We will return there often; can't wait to try all the offerings!

Really enjoyed this restaurant. First time there. Love the ambience. Not too dark. Beautiful decor. Music was peaceful and not too loud. Was easily able to carry a conversation without having to strain to hear. Food was great. I had the mahi mahi. Friend had the prime rib. We also had raw oysters. Homemade ice cream with shortbread. Will definitely be back. Beautiful outdoor patio as well.

Went hoping to dine from the "Taste of" (happy hour) menu but nothing on the website - or the online menu - indicates that it is only available if dining in the bar - only found out from our server after being seated in the dining rm. Chose the Spinach Dip appetizer; a great choice, served w/ excellent bread! Unlike spinach dip at some larger large chains, there's no artichoke - but sundried tomatoes. Followed w/ the Bistro Burger w/ Cheddar & French Dip. Far too many fries to finish, but both sandwiches were juicy & a delight. We'll definitely be back!

Wait Staff - awesome service! Thank you Amber and team! Food -- fresh, vibrant and delectable. Paul Martin's is a wonderful place to wine and dine for a special occasion (on the night we dined - my birthday celebration) or any night when you want to be pampered and feast on creatively prepared and scrumptious culinary delights. Our thanks all around from the welcome at the front door to the very last moment. We look forward to our next visit!

My husband and thought the makeover looked great and the community table, near the bar, was a fabulous idea. The service was outstanding and a very nice waiter, named Mike, did an outstanding job serving us and checking on us several times throughout the evening. Our appetizer (cheese and meat platter) was very good. Our main entrée's left little to be desired. My husband ordered his steak medium rare and it was a bit more done. Mike offered to have this fixed as he quickly noticed it too. My husband cut into the middle and told him it looked rarer and it would be okay. The problem, very tough and chewy. My mahi mahi was just okay, not very flavorful and I could have done without the bed of green beans. Definitely over-priced.

Salt and pepper prawns were beautifylly presented and delicious. The calamari, on the other hand, was poorly executed. Very small pieces of squid that were overcooked and borderline tough, not too mention overbreaded. The calamari itself was nearly lost in the dish. Brick chicken was excellent! Strawberry shortcake featured a delicious homemade biscuit, though the macerated strawberries were tart.

It is lovely to have lunch when you have service from professionals. The food is good - a bit salty, but we eat a low sodium diet so that maybe our personal impression only. fabulous bread, and amuse of marcona almonds and olives won us over right from the get go. desserts are overpriced at 10$, but are very very large - they are not that tasty compared to the rest of the food. have had better desserts elsewhere. here though at Paul Martin's it is an all-around delightful experience.

This restaurant has great ambiance and a wonderful happy hour that ends at 7 PM. We went for dinner on a Friday night and sat in the dining room. We ordered a cheese plate from the appetizer menu that was wonderful. The cheese and assorted meats were excellent. We ordered bread as it did not come with any. My boyfriend had the ribs, which were excellent. I had the skirt steak. It was good, but it needed more flavor. The dessert was excellent. Overall, the food is great and a nice wine list.

The food was good. I had the Kale Salad w/Anchovies, and the Cedar Plank Salmon, which was cooked exactly to my specifications. The Salmon Entrée, was a bit too small of a portion for the price however. I'm a big "foodie", and I dine all over town. Will try something different next time around, as I will be back again. I'd made reservations for a birthday dinner for my partner and myself. Earlier in the day I dropped off flowers and card and asked for them to be on the table when we arrived. Well we arrived and NO Flowers and NO Card. I spoke with the MOD and he said "oh you want those now? We didn't know what you wanted us to do with them" I understand miscommunication, but in front of the dining party to give excuses and accusations was unprofessional. Yes the immediately brought them out and apologized with 2 $10.00 gift cards. Really? That won't even buy a cocktail for 2 people. Food was good, the service a bit rushed at first until we asked to take our time. Very Disappointed!

We've dined at this restaurant 3 or more times a month since they've opened - twice over the past weekend, we love the food. A bit disappointed in the service this past Friday night. We had to ask multiple times and waited more than 15 minutes for desert menus - when the manager came over and brought the menus he apologized and took our desert order and told us they were on the house. When the bill came - the deserts had not been comped. We just paid. We came back two days later, again, we love the food, and the same manager spoke with us and either did not recognize us or decided not to acknowledge the lengthy conversations we'd had just 48 hours previously. We're easy to remember, one of our party is on crutches and one in on a walker

Our meal here had lots of potential.....servers seemed to be trying to be attentive as did the 2 manageers walking around. But it did not come together for us. We had a bad, high traffic table near 2 doors that gave us bursts of HOT PHOENIX air every few minutes. And the service went from bad to worse as if we became invisible.

Probably did not need a reservation for lunch on a mid-July Monday, but we were seated at a quiet booth with attentive service. The nibbles along with Arnold Palmers made the wait time for our tasty salad entrees very short. Refills were provided without prompting the server. We had previously been to Paul Martin's on a Monday evening for the special wine dinner that was very good too.
