A word from Paul Martin's American Grill - Roseville
Seasonal & Delicious.

With Paul Martin's American Grill, Brian Bennett and restaurateur Paul Fleming have realized a long-nurtured dream to create the restaurant "we've always wished was in our neighborhood."

At the heart of all great food is fresh, local, peak of the season ingredients. Paul Martin's aims to serve diners the best ingredients with meat raised in a humane and wholesome way, locally sourced produce, the best of both wild and farmed fish, artisan cheeses and cured meats from small local purveyors. The deep California-centric wine list twists and turns, by glass or bottle, through the Golden State's vineyards, with an occasional stop for an Oregon Pinot Gris or a Washington dry Riesling. Behind Paul Martin's elegantly rustic bar is an interesting array of craft beer and spirited cocktails with fresh garnishes. Good times and thoughtful food are a way of life at Paul Martin's American Grill.

Happy to discover this restaurant for the first time recently. Nick, our server, was cordial, attentive and knowledgeable. The kale caesar salad with white anchovies was delicious and different, and the shortribs were fork tender and very flavorful. The ambience is very attractive with mood lighting and the noise level was quiet enough for easy conversation. We will be back and will recommend to friends.

Lived in Sac my entire life. Midtown for 30 yrs. I'm 54 and back "in the 'ol days" there was no reason ever to go to Roseville. But, when my parents moved to Granite Bay, life changed. My mother broke her hip(she's 84) and is at Sutter Roseville Hospital recuperating in luxury. So, I took my father to a restaurant recommend by neighbors near there....Wrong! It was Friday night! He's 88, a vet and well moves a bit slower than the crowd at PM's. Booked reservations through Open Table(thank you, technology) dropped him off at the door, so I could find a place to park in this madness. By the time I got there, he was already at the bar. Duh! The man needed a drink! Well, this must be the place to be on a week-end. The place was packed! Btw, where is the diversity? I felt like I was in "the valley". So, we ate at the bar. Two drinks, two ordinary appetizers and one more glass of a very nice pinot noir, for me......we forgot our worries for a bit and left. What I still can't figure out is why it cost over $80+tip? Really?

As always the food and service were excellent. My wife was very happy to see the artichoke back on the menu after disappearing for some unknown reason for months. Happy hour food menu is spot on. The street tacos were dynamite. Wish you had a better Premium Sparkling Water choice.

Paul Martin was a pleasant surprise. My friends recommended it and thought we would it a try. They recommended the cedar plank salmon. I was very happy that the salmon was not farmed raised as I refuse to eat farm raised salmon. And they have the best home made ice cream.....coffee mocha chip...yummy.

The wait staff here is exemplary, attending to your needs without being intrusive. The food is excellent; we tried the mushroom soup, steal and bacon tacos, and short ribs--all were delicious. We were a group of four women celebrating two birthdays, and our waiter brought two ice cream sundaes to the table. The ambiance is just-right for a romantic lunch or dinner, and I like that the restaurant runs special offers like prix fixe meals. Although somewhat pricy, the lunch specials at $12 were reasonable and varied. Love this place!

I have been here several times and this experience was terrible. We were a party of three and it took over TWENTY minutes to get our drinks. Ridiculous. My friend ordered the fish tacos and assumed it was white fish. When salmon came in her tacos, we were speechless. The menu makes zero mention of salmon in the tacos. It should be written in the dish explanation as many people do not enjoy salmon. The Manager came over to us and said it was the waiters mistake for not mentioning it. No accountability. She asked for the well done skirt steak instead. It came out VERY rare. My food came and my steak was very rare. I asked for medium well. It was awful. We ate what we could and decided not to return.

The food and ambience was as always just fine, but it took much longer to be served for lunch and as the host, had to leave my guests to have coffee without me or I'd be late for a 2:30 pm mid town appointment, and arriving at 12:15, would have thought we'd be done sooner. I'll come back, but if this happens again, I probably won't return.

I eat all over the United States and this is always one of my go to restaurants. The food is always excellent, fresh and local. I also appreciate that the prices are reasonable for the quality of food. A good value. My only criticism has been the wine list...I think it could be better. However, it is MUCH better than in was two years ago. Go to Paul Martin's American Grill!

Although the restaurant was very croweded on a Saturday night and our meals took a little extra time to come out, when they did, the meals were perfectly cooked...ranging from the succulent lobster tails to the brick chicken to the basic french fries. They were all perfectly prepared and well worth the wait.

I thought the restaurant was overpriced for the amount of food received. I ordered the short ribs. It should have been called the short rib. One piece of meat approximately 2 1/2 long by 3/4 of an inch wide of short rib. Oh, and a scoop of mashed potatoes. $25.00. Ridiculous. $9 for a kale salad. Two cocktails, two salads, and two entrees for $95.00 On the way home, I asked my wife where she would like to stop and get a bite to eat. I believe that when spending that kind of money on a meal, you shouldn't leave a restaurant satisfied. The food had good flavor and it would have been nice to enjoy more than three bites. Appetizer portions for slightly above average tasting food. I won't be back.

Our server was friendly, efficient and fun. The cocktails/appetizers/dinner/dessert were totally on point. I didn't like waiting 10+ minutes for our table even though we had a reservation (it wasn't busy). If it was going to be that long, an invitation to wait at the bar would have been nice. Our server and the rest of the experience made up for it though. We always have a great night when we come here. Oh-the chocolate cake? Omg. My favorite cake in the world.

Went to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night, the place was packed--You MUST get the Salt & Pepper Wild Prawns appetizer, we almost ordered a 2nd one. Also had delectable Wild Mushroom Soup, Butter Lettuce Salad, Prime New York Steak, everything was phenomenal & cooked to perfection. They also had a lobster special that was the absolute best lobster I've ever had...perfectly cooked, juicy and succulent, very fresh with the perfect amount of seasoning, really hope they make it a regular menu item. My son had their delicious mac n' cheese and then we finished the night with banana cream pie, homemade ice cream and the berry cobbler. Service was very good in spite of a packed house, could tell servers were doing their best to keep up.

We have been many times and this time was terrible. We asked for a dark or amber beer and the waiter brought an IPA, which we sent back. The calamari was okay but a bit greasy, not crispy at all. The oysters looked dehydrated and broken up and there were no utensils. I sent them back. We had to ask for bread twice. The lobster special was rubbery and the mahi mahi was cold and slimy. We were overcharged $14, sent the ticket back. I had my hand in the air trying to get the floor manager but ended up walking to him. I complained about the food a no dessert for my husband's birthday. He asked if anyone knew (yes, two staff knew). I told him this was a terrible meal and why. He said, it's usually good & that is how much he cared.
