  • Special Events & Promotions: Paul Martin's offers several areas in the restaurant for cocktail receptions, group dining and presentations. Our Private Dining Room can accommodate groups of 20,30 and up to 60 guests. We have a semi-private wine room that can host up to 14 guests as well as a heated patio perfect for 20-40 people and a patio cocktail lounge that can comfortable fit 30 people for a social occasion.

Our founders, Brian Bennett and Paul Fleming, had a vision for a restaurant they wished was in their neighborhood — a place that serves you dishes made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients prepared simply and well, all offered at accessible prices. Embracing this concept and carrying these values into the restaurant kitchen, Paul Martin's American Grill was born.

Today our motto remains "Seasonal & Delicious." On our menu you will find the best seafood from sustainable fisheries, free-range and natural meats and poultry, artisan cheeses and cured meats. Alongside our food, we serve artisanal cocktails made with house-infused spirits, craft beers and a deep selection of over 100 wines, most of which are offered by the glass.

We encourage you to peruse our rich and varied menus, which are designed to foster sampling and sharing. Good times and thoughtful food are a way of life at Paul Martin’s.

  • "Ambiance is great. I ordered from the wine list and they were out of stock; on a second choice I got my wine. I was looking forward to a great filet mignon, but it was not on the menu. My girl friend returned her Lobster Bisque, and said she didn't have room for a main course, so I gave up on a main course too, and ordered the Seafood Platter Appetizer. This was wonderful, and highly recommended. A medium is a good size to share. Good service and attitudes; reasonably priced for a high-end restaurant."

  • "This used to be one of our favorite places to eat at, not after the last visit. The service by our waiter, Tim L. was the worst we've ever had there. He was more interested in talking with the other staff & young girls. We had to flag him down to get drinks & after waiting over 20 minutes for our food we flagged him down to ask for some bread, in the past was brought to our table after we ordered our meal. The music was too loud even on the patio so we could barely hear each other the entire time. We noticed everyone had to talk super loud at each table, which isn't why people dine out. The food was ok, but we think it probably sat for awhile before we were served. We are not in a hurry to return after that experience."

  • "I cook all of my daughter's meals from scratch because of her special diet. It is very hard to find restaurants that serve quality food and accommodate her needs. This restaurant is a diamond in the rough! Found it on google and was so excited to try. There was six of us and everyone loved their food! My daughter is not allowed to have marinades because of the sugars in most of them. There was only ingredients she could have in their marinades, she was so happy to eat like a normal person! Highly recommend to other foodies out there!"

  • "This is our 2nd time at Paul Martin's. We ate at their Westlake Village and their Irvine locations. Both times everything was excellent. The decor, service, food, menu choices, even the home made lemonade is excellent! If you just want a nice meal or are in need of a great business lunch location, Paul Martin's is it. We ordered the smoked salmon salad and the French Dip sandwich. Both were excellent and beautifully prepared and presented."

  • "... but be sure to sit in the crowded bar or patio between the hours of three and eight PM daily, or you'll be charged over double the price for it! I was dismayed that this was the case when I made dinner reservations based on their generous online offerings. Nowhere on this venue's site did it make that distinction and we sat less than 12 feet from those who imbibed for less. The food was OK. Service was slow and unengaging. I will be back for their Martini, but will skip the rest."

  • "My girlfriend and I met at PM's before the Go Fest Concert and we had a great dining experience. We had asked our server if they were still serving the biscuits and was told they were sold out from breakfast. We ordered our entrees and drinks and waited for our meal. Our server surprised us with two biscuits and boy were they delicious! Our server also presented our burger on two separate plates because she heard we were splitting the burger….I was very happy with the service. By the way - the burger is juicy and flavorful!"

  • "Husband and I started with super fresh oysters and split the kale salad. Delicious. For the main dishes he had the plank salmon and I had the mahi mahi. Both well seasoned. However my fish piece was the size of a fat fish stick. Disappointingly small portion. How sad. We've been here several times for the great happy hour. Good deals."

  • "We have been to Paul Martin's both for lunch and dinner. Service is always good the food even better. At certain times of the year they have these wonderful Brussels sprouts they are to die for. The green beans were nice and crispy in garlic. But the steaks we had were excellent cooked perfectly. Dessert was fabulous chocolate cake."

  • "I like the ribs here more than any other restaurant- the meat is so tender and falls off the bone and it is not covered with gooey corn-syrup-like sauce. The steak salad was very fresh and the marinated skirt steak on arugula with heirloom tomatoes were also very good. The Mac n cheese had some interesting spices that may not appeal to everyone..."

  • "Met a friend there for lunch. A large very nicely appointed restaurant. Service was excellent as was the food. Great ambience even at lunch. We arrived early to beat the lunch rush and glad we did as the restaurant filled quickly at the noon hour. Food was very good. Paul Martin's was recommended to me by another friend, and I'm glad I gave it a try. I will definitely go back for dinner soon."

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food was outstanding from the appetizer to dessert, and the entire staff was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We will absolutely dine here multiple times in the future, and look forward to bringing friends and family to enjoy it with us."

The main courses are generous but not too large and have great flavor. The appetizers are fun and everyone I've been there with has enjoyed them. The cost is in line with what you're having, not an inexpensive place but the food is good!"

  • "We needed a restaurant near the Improv in Irvine and found this place on-line - and what a great find it was! There were six of us, and we all had a wonderful dinner. The food, the wine, the atmosphere and the wait staff were all excellent. Our server, Wesley, was not only everything you could ask for in a server, he was also handsome as all get out - which was a little added bonus for the three ladies at the table. Then the manager, Daniel, was also an absolute gem. We spoke with him at length and it became immediately apparent that this young man was THE right choice for a manager. We would all highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "My first visit here. Tried the grilled corn soup, really delicious. Then the grilled salmon with greens and quinoa and bulgar wheat. Everything was very tasty super fresh. Eat good, no guilt works for me! My only issue was that the chair seat distance from the table was so great that I had to request a cushion to keep from looking like "Edith Ann" at the table. Sitting at a booth was out of the question for me as I am not a tall woman."

The only problem was the patio. No ambiance at all and a screaming baby! We would defineitly return but would choose a table inside."

  • "First time to this restaurant and I was very pleased, I always have reservations about a restaurant in a mall but Irvine Spectrum has become a hot restaurant destination. Rarely do I find a restaurant like this that has a Vegan soup but it was on their Seasonal menu also with a delicious mushroom burger. My husband and another friend both had non Vegan options and enjoyed there Did as well. Definitely recommend, our waiter was very attentive and personable. Definitely recommend"

  • "We arrived around 6:45, but was told by the hostess that it would be an hour and 40 minute wait. Thanks to Open Table we got a table in less than 30 minutes. Our server took 20 minutes to inform us they were out of the beer we ordered (during this time he served other tables) We ordered, one meal as is the other with modification (two of us wanted to share it) and they easily complied. We asked that there be some modifications and the food came out incorrectly, they took it back, then brought it back 5 minutes later the same way. I decided to eat it but realized all of the modifications had been ignored, a sauce I can't eat was amply applied, the bacon wasn't cooked, etc. I then decided I would get something elsewhere. We won't be back."

  • "This is a great restaurant for a business lunch. Located at the Irvine Spectrum there is Valet parking right outside the door as well as plenty of self parking. The service is very good, the food is excellent and it won't break your expense account (unless you drink a lot of wine). It is also not too noisy so you can have a conversation without competing with big screen TVs or too many other conversations due to the varied seating layout, inside seating, bar seating and outside."

  • "This was the first time we went to this restaurant. We went on a Saturday night around 830pm and got right in. Service was slow but it seemed our waiter was very busy. We notice 3 waiter(s) standing around not doing much while our waiter ran around serving everyone. The food was OK and it wasnt quite my taste. Ordered the tacos and it had a tiny bit of fish and a lot of corn type mix with it. I would not go back again although everyone should give it a try."
