Really enjoyed our meal here. I had the goats cheese and strawberry salad which was delicious. Really appreciated the extra blackberries on it soaked in port. Would recommend Pats. Good, honest food in a relaxed environment. Lovedit and would definitely go back.

This is a comfy place with incredibly friendly service. We went for dinner and it was not crowded so it was quiet and easy to talk - which was very nice. Food was good for the value, and there was creativity, too. For example, the grilled romaine salad is unusual.

Food was very good, not great, but prices were good also. The service was slow, and we had no idea why. The atmosphere was cozy, with almost a retro feel to it.

My wife and I happened across this gem randomly for dinner since it was so close to our hotel. The service was A+, the food was to die for, and overall this was one of our most remembered dining occassions. Our dinner was romantic and the (off the menu) wine recommendation by the server paired with our food flawlessly. We actually wished we lived nearby just so that we could visit all the time. The steak was amazing but Pat's special beef was astounding. Such a great night and we will be remembering this place for a long, long time. I honestly couldn't recommend it more highly!

I had a number of issues with our meal for a party of four. First, the place was freezing. It was cold outside on the evening of January 1, but they had only two plug in radiant heaters to heat the whole place and it was not working. I asked for advice from the waiter as to what I should order. He highly recommended the Seafood Wellington. I should have thought otherwise, but took his suggestion. I swear there was only about a tablespoon of seafood in the entire dish. There were one of two small bay scallops, maybe three tiny shrimps and no other seafood such as wild salmon, etc. as advertised on the "specials" menu. The rest was couscous. My companions had better meals, but please, turn on the heat!

Our food was delicious. My husband ordered a Salmon/Corvina fish special. He said it was marvelous. I ordered the Beef Bourguignon circled in piped (very pretty) mash potatoes. I ate everything on my plate as it was so scrumptious. We will definitely be going back. Oh, yes, I forgot we also ordered dessert which was ice cream with fresh berries and chocolate cake with a devine white frosting. The waiter was superb, very attentive. We sat at the table at the window which was not only very private but we also got to watch the cable cars coming by and the passengers debarking. Great Fun!

Pat's Cafe does it again ... The special for the evening dinner was scallops with prawns in a beautiful pesto sauce. The accompanying fresh vegtables were steamed to perfection. They are just al dente and great flavor. Dinner is always a pleasure but this evening's special was the best yet!

  • Pat's Cafe is ever as good
    dinernybaby

Pat's Cafe is ever as good as the Nob Hill Cafe (if not better!) The quality of the food is excellant and beautifully presented. The wine list is a good one and pairs nicely with the menu. If you need a break from the North Beach Italian or the Wharf's fish food, go to Pat's. The menu is comfort food with a gourmet flare. You can hear yourself talk and many evenings can meet some nice people from the neighborhood or visitors from other places. Parking is limited due to location, but it is on the Cable car line for Mason/Powell or the 30 Stockton stops just a block away. The 47 VanNess stops at Jones/Northpoint and then walk up two blocks to Pat's. Then after dinner take a stroll down to the Wharf!
