A word from Patrona
Patrona Restaurant and Lounge is located in the heart of beautiful Ukiah, Mendocino County, California. We are a family-run business and view the restaurant as an extension of our kitchen and living room. Our building served as the town grocery store for over one hundred years. Now lovingly restored, it is softly lit with warm brick walls, filled with hand crafted tables from local artisans and run by a staff that cares.

Bridget and Craig, two winery chefs, opened Patrona in 2003. The simple goal was to enjoy the great area we live in and share this with our family and friends. Our mission statement is simply “Happy People”. We need to be happy about what we do and how we do it. Our guests need to be happy and feel good as well as our neighbors and future generations. This means a thoughtful and sustainable business. Our menu changes are based on today’s catch from the gardens, ocean and local purveyors.

  • "GREAT GLUTEN FREE MENU!! Food was excellent, service was great. Very accommodating to my gluten free needs- I have celiac disease and could eat almost anything on the dinner menu!"

  • "Had their ribeye, and it was exquisite! The only complaint was that it was a bit small/thin for my 'Merican appetite. The Gorgonzola sauce, is perfect, and the veggies and potatoes were great as well. Didn't leave anything on my plate."

  • "The server was excellent and was very knowledgeable about the menu"

  • "I think the veggies served with my trout were leftovers, they didn't taste all that freshly made."

  • "Very good menu. They were very busy with a party of 16 near us. Still, the server was attentive, but clearly busy. Everyone was hustling. Great oysters on the 1/2, pork belly as an appetizer was great, as was the lamb."

  • "I went with my wife in Patrona for a dinner and we loved the service and the food. First, they explained us about the food menu that has a delicious choices. After, we asked to taste a wine and they gave us sample and other suggestion. At te end, we had a Belgium chocolate dessert that was outstanding!! We recommend this place for everyone that travel to Ukiah."

  • "The community meal is always a sytand-out and the evening of April 14th was no exception. the baby-back ribs over the chipotle potato saald was amazing! Loved it!"

  • "Couldn't have asked for a better place to dine on my anniversary. Both server and Manager exceeded our expectations. Don't miss this opportunity."

  • "Which was also my birthday lunch. Only a very limited ' brunch only' menu... mostly egg dishes. It was 1pm. No salads listed... asked if available & waiter said he'd check if they could do one... I decided against it. My choice was tasty [ seafood crepes], but came on large plate with NO accompaniment, just three very small limp endive leaves. Very disappointing. The 1 dessert offered-- a rhubarb lemon curd tart-- was tasty, but runny, not firm. All in all... didn't seem like much effort went into a special occasion. "

  • "Pleasantly surprised to find such a great restaurant. Food was very good and service was impeccable. The manager made a special effort to assist with recommendations for our upcoming travel."

  • "We had to get the wait staffs attention each time we wanted drink refills-1 or 2 times so not excessive, even getting up to ask the busboy who was cleaning a nearby table. Other than that the staff was polite and friendly."

  • "Visiting from out of town. Made reservations on my cell phone. The ambiance was great. The wine list impressive but the drinks are amazing!! The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and we'll presented. The food was seasonal with great flavors. Considering the whole experience the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend it without hesitation."

  • "Items on the lunch menu seemed fresh and modern, but there was more promise than delivered. We liked the batter on the fish and chips, but the fish was not fresh. The beet salad was delicious, but the calamari seriously needed seasoning. It wasn't until afterward that I realized the calamari was supposed to have been tossed with a sauce and someone must have forgot it. Will give Patrona a second chance the next time we're in town."

  • "I'm not sure they know what they want to be. From the decor to the ambience at the bar compared to the what the food and the level of service gives me the impression they're trying to get different sets of clientele in a small space. The food was decent. There were a few mishaps with our main courses. My partner had the steak and asked for it medium. It was rare. Her veg was all over the place. Some of it was slightly charred while others were raw. I had the duck special and everything was good except the sauce that was served with it. Seemed like it sat on the burner a few minutes too long. Both of our starters (mussels with white wine and a spinach salad) were excellent. The trio of chocolate was to die for...as well as the service."

  • "Patrona's is one of the very few nice places to eat in Ukiah. Their menu selections are good and the food nicely presented. They have a smallish selection of local wines which could be expanded in light of the large number of local wineries. We had a good time and left satisfied."

  • "We went on Valentines Day; had the couples "aphrodisiac" tasting menu. woo woo! 9 courses of love on a plate. Craig and his crew outdid themselves with this one. From oysters on the half shell, threw endive with a nice mousse; to spicy shrimp, to roe on avocado; then spicy lamb; and lovely (moist) stewy chicken breast. then there were the four dessert items. cocktails are always a winner here. had the "contrary mary" with tomato and celery "shrub" mixed with spicy vodka served in a martini glass, very nice."

  • "I took a friend to lunch here; her first comment was: "Wow! I didn't know there was any place like this in Ukiah!" I'm so happy to have such a place in Ukiah. It's both comfortable and elegant and food is always done right. Full bar, as well, with original cocktail ideas."

  • "We took a friend as a treat. I had asked her where she wanted, there were several other choices. she was emphatic about going to Patrona, and I was so glad, because that is where I wanted to go too (win, win;) service is always great, it is nice to be recognized and acknowledged by the staffers. They make you feel welcomed and the place is comfortable and homey. Tried one of the winter cocktails, any of them are a winner here. We tried different items from around the menu and shared tastes. that's the fun of this place. they always bring extra plates. Soups yum, salads, yum, appetizer was a panko covered shrimp cake that was enough for 3 to share, yum. cod, duck and crepes, yum, yum, yum."

  • "As I usually have a nice dinner, I was disappointed with brunch. Service took a very long time, and then when the food arrived it was the wrong entree. Having waited so long, we just ate and left. The dish I was served, which was an eggs benedict (not what I ordered), was mediocre. Sadly, I will not return for breakfast. Maybe I'll try lunch."

  • "This restaurant is a pearl amidst some rough stones. Actually, the street it's on appears to be gentrifying with a cool Enoteca nearby as well as a wood burning upscale pizza place. The menu was very trendy and every dish we had was well executed. We will got back for sure next time we are in the area!"

  • "My son just recently started working in Ukiah so I've been fortunate enough to have been to dinner at this restaurant several times and will continue to look forward to coming back. Great atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff and delicious food and drinks! Dont't miss the orange callamari and any of the dinner salads. Though a little on the pricey side, it's well worth it!"
