A word from Patriot Steakhouse & Tavern - West Carrollton
The Patriot Steakhouse & Tavern is Southwest Ohio's newest and best option for Steaks, Ribs, Fresh Seafood, Pork Chops & Tenderloin, Grilled Chicken Breasts & Deep Fried Chicken Tenders. We also offer Fresh Salads and Pasta Dishes.

Our Bar is very comfortable, and our selections are very reasonably priced. We have a wine list that can best be described as aggressive. Our theory on bottles of wine? We'd rather sell them than dust them.

We have great food in a casual dining environment.

Our menu starts with numerous Appetizer options including Shrimp Cocktail, Crab Cakes, Potato Skins, Chili Nachos, etc.. All of our Soups are made from scratch and our Clam Chowder and Crab & Lobster Bisque are some of the best you'll ever have.

  • "Nice place great welcome. Ten close friends had a real nice time. Food was real good except both steaks were a little undercooked but we both do like rare but were definitely not med rare and chewy. We assume beef was your best but next time go another route not worth the cost to be honest. Bottom line all of us will come back. You are good for large groups and take reservations. Thanks"

  • "We were a group of 4. Here's what we think: The food was very good. The waitress was friendly and accurately took our order, however she could not recommend any item on the menu in particular, we asked about steak she told us about scallops as she preferred seafood, when pork was ordered she said asked how we wanted it prepared??? In our book pork must always be well done with no pink, end of discussion. The waitress discussed the new way pork is prepared, how trichonosis (sp) is no longer a problem with pork. Not very appetizing discussion. Also: more lighting as dark colored menus as hard for older diners to read: turn down volume of music, Simplify menu, sometimes less is more and offer a daily inexpensive special."

  • "We have never been disappointed at The Patriot! Food is excellent...portions are generous and staff is great!"

  • "I went with the basics. Salad, steak, and potato is see how it was executed. Nicely none. We'll come back to mine the menu of the other items, (sea food items) . Lots of talk about a high end salmon got me curious to see I can taste a difference."

  • "I made a reservation for my parents' visit, which was a plus vs. waiting elsewhere. The Patriot is in the Alex Bell strip mall, in the space formerly occupied by Grub Steak. I was MORE than pleasantly surprised. Space is well-appointed (American flair) with appropriate lighting and music. The menu is broad and reasonably priced, ranging from salads, hot dogs and burgers up to prime beef and seafood. Above-average beer, wine & liquor selection for establishment geared for dining (no bar area I recall). Our table ordered prime rib, scallops and grilled pork chops. Dinner entrees include two sides, one of which can be a salad. Service was prompt, courteous and professional. Skip the chains/wait (Outback) & support a great local place!"

  • "This is a special occasion restaurant due to the price of its steaks. Don't sit near the windows on a cold day. Place was a little chilly if you sit by the windows and not near the fire place. When making a reservation, you can ask for a table near the fireplace. Service was great. Food was good"

  • "The restaurant was empty at 6 p.m. that should have been our first clue to leave. I ordered the ribeye steak (which was $25) was informed that when I ordered it medium well that i was not aloud to send back if not cooked right. When my steak was brought to me it was burnt had alot of char on it and was so tough i couldn't chew it. I ordered sauted onions and mushrooms for my steak and they were also burnt. My husband had a burger with a loaded bake potato minus the sour cream, when his burger arrived it had everything on it (he ordered it cheese only) and there was sour cream all over is potato. The waitress left our food didn't return for 20 min. When we did ask her to fix what was wrong she was annoyed with us."

  • "Overall it was a good experience. We both ordered the surf and turf. The filet mignon was delicious and cooked perfectly, however the crab cakes tasted like they were made from canned tuna fish. Our server wasn't very experienced and our order took a very long time. I think we were there for a total of 2 hours for appetizer, salads, dinner and dessert. But the other tables around us received fast service and prompt attention and everyone seemed pleased with their meals. We would return again and give it another try."

  • "I ordered filet and salmon, my husband ordered prime rib. My steak was so hard they had to bring me a new one; and my husband's prime rib was not that tender. The disappointment is because this place used to be the Grub Steak and they had delicious food and wonderful service."

  • "We had a very wonderful experience at the Patriot on Valentines Day. The food and service were very good."

  • "My husband and I had our "Saturday Date Night" here. We were the only guest in the main dining area. However it was Extremly cold. Not because of the window but the temperature overall. We did ask the heat to be adjusted. Not much of a difference in the Hour and a half that we spent there. My husband steak a 32 oz Ribeye (not sure if I have the size tight. It was the largest and they refer to it as the "Cowboy") was cooked right, just no season whatsoever. Luckily the salt and pepper shakers on the table helped somewhat. But for the price paid for the steak, he should been able to eat it with seasoning it himself. We got the hint that they wanted to close at 11:15pm because the turned the lights up so bright it killed our mood and we left."

  • "Food was good, but service was slow and it took a long time to get our food."

  • "Took my wife to dinner for Valentines Day. We couldn't get into any other restaurant without a terribly long wait. We made reservations and was able to get in. We had a bottle of wine, I had the prime rib dinner. My wife had the surf and turf (Filet and Scallops). We couldn't eat our food fast enough. I highly recommend this place, definitely will be back."

  • "I made a reservation for 6:15 and when we arrived, there were quite a few tables in the dining room empty. Yet, the hostess immediately took us to a high top in the bar. If I wanted to sit in the bar to eat, I would not have bothered with a reservation. When I told her I would prefer a table in the dining room, she became quite flustered. It took another 10 minutes or more for them to figure out where to seat us. Other than that, our server was good, the food was very good for the price (we got the small filet and lobster tail -- both cooked to perfection)."

  • "I had read great reviews about the Patriot and because my husband loves steak, I thought this would be a great place to take him. The service was very good for our main course however,we were not offered a dessert menu (it was my husband's birthday and I told the waitress!). My husband enjoyed his steak very much and the rolls. Additionally, we enjoyed the music that was playing. I on the other hand was not satisfied. I ordered the shrimp trio and I only enjoyed the fried shrimp. The rice pilaf was over cooked and included sweet peas! Unfortunately, I will probably not dine here again."

  • "The menu on the steak side was a bit much for the type of restaurant this is. I have eaten at Mortons in Cincinnati and the steaks were very good and the price was more or less fitting for this type of restaurant. As far as the service , this was good but not outstanding had to remind the waitress about your own special. This was the buy one get the second at half price, you had advertised this for the West Carrollton location and when we received the bill it was for the full price so we had to have it adjusted. Will need to try for lunch and the less expensive portion of the menu."

  • "We have been to the Lebanon location multiple times, and we're excited they opened one closer to home. Same great food and even better service!"

  • "We were informed by the Server that the kitchen was running behind & getting our food may take a little longer than normal which was fine with us however the service was fair at best. The server seemed overwhelmed & "forgetful" - had to ask for items (bread, drink refills, salads) numerous times. Food was fair, "just okay" ~ my steak wasnt prepared the way I ordered it, I did not send back/complain since it took so long to get it in the first place & there wasn't much "flavor". I am glad I tried Patriot's but we will not go back again, there are many other steak houses including a few "chain" restaurants that offer better quality steaks. We had a variety (ribeye, porterhouse & filet); we all agree that Patriot's was disappointing."

  • "This place was very impressive. I rarely rate anything with the highest score possible, but this place did it. It is away from the hustle-bustle of the Dayton Mall, but it is not too far, nor is it difficult to find. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty! Prices were reasonable, especially when you consider how fantastic the food tasted!"

  • "First time here..very easy to make reservations online. Arrived 5:30pm on Saturday. I ordered 10 oz strip steak...the cut of meat i received was not good. Plate had way to much grease, meat was gritty, fatty, veins, etc. 1/3 of it was unable to eat. Baked potatoe had way to much sour cream on top."
    Dined on 11/23/2013
  • "Sure was disappointed. Food did not seem to be what was described on the menu....prime rib ordered was not prime rib and pork loin was not pork loin. Sides baked potatoes had been cooked too long and salads were lettuce with a huge ring of red onion...We will not be returning, too far for us to drive for a meal that is not what was expected."

  • "they have good food, a little higher price than some restaurants but the way I look at it you get what you pay for, in this case it was well worth it."

  • "Food was not bad. A little pricey for what you get. The "Reservations Only" approach was a good idea but the place was empty. I am sorry but we will not go back."

  • "Enjoyed this restaurant. A bit much on the "Patriotic" theme, however, very good customer service, well prepared food, nice salad and decent coffee. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly...not too hard and not under-cooked. We'll go back for more! The early dinner drink special was also a good deal."
