A word from Patria
Patria is a Spanish tapas restaurant slightly set back from the road on King West. With many of our ingredients and wine being imported directly from Spain, we offer an authentic Spanish dining experience.

I've been living in Spain for a
few month and love the food. Until I finally discovered this restaurant I could not find any place in Toronto that was close to the real thing. The place is quite noisy, but that makes it exactly like if you were in Spain (except Patria has a clean floor!) . Ham is properly hand cut and melts in your mouth, the dates(datiles) were nicely paired with manchego cheese, and they have Pimientos de Padron, a rare item. They took a little twist on the croquetas de jamon and the ensalada rusa, but it was good and not too far from the original. Pan con tomate is also nicley toasted and fresh, just have it plain. Desert menu is not that Spanish, but original and very well executed. Overall a great experience."

If you like tapas you'll love
Patria. Not your typical tapas. If you can't decide what to have the staff always gives great recommendations and can put together the entire meal for you. The only complaint is that it can get quite loud."

Delicious brunch, beautifully
served, lovely interior design. A new favourite."
Dined on 4/6/2014
The food is simply terrific -
simple, high quality, excellent fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared. The setting is very attractive, service attentive without intrusion; could be noisy when crowded, as no soft textiles to muffle sound. My new favorite in Toronto, though."

One of the best in Toronto. Very
fun and fresh, great food, great staff. Varied menu, excellent wine list, beautifully prepared and presented. No attitude but good friendly attitude."

Patria's food was great. Unique
and well presented. My only problem was with the service. My table's waiter never came by to ask how we were doing and I had to constantly flag him down to order more items from the menu. When I asked the waiter to offer suggestions on wine choices, he was not knowledgeable. Also, I can appreciate that there may be a team atmosphere in terms of waiting on each others table, but I would have preferred my table's waiter (who took our food orders) to also process payment to round out the whole experience and not someone completely unfamiliar."

Ambience was not bad. For the
price, I expected the food to be freshly made. Sandwiches were not fresh...tough and stale buns. The red peppers that went with it seems like it came from a jar. Presentation of the food was not good. Omellette was just ok. Only saving grace was the pita. Overall...I would not recommend this restaurant if you want good food."

Patria was recommended to our
family by some Torontonians and we decided to try the restaurant for Sunday lunch/brunch. The food was fabulous! Lovely Spanish tapas. The whole Serrano hams are right there by the bar so it's a natural to order that after walking by them! Freshly sliced jamon Serrano - yum! We following it with the crispy potatoes with spicy tomato and fried egg and the poached eggs with asparagus, jamon Serrano and manchego. It was superb in everyway: service, ambiance and food."

Tapas style - great for trying out
multiple dishes. Food was amazing. Portions are not large, prices are not cheap, but for foodies, it's worth it."

The food was excellent, great
flavours, great presentation, but the dining experience was not quiet, nor intimate. We went for a special occasion and we left feeling that the restaurant didnt deliver. We are keen Spanish food and drink lovers. The staff were excellent; it was the regimented, tightly packed room without a cosy nook or quiet, semi-private table. The calamari were perfect and tasted as if we were in Cadiz eating a fresh catch. The artichoke salad was better than any salad you would get in Spain. The chorizo could have been sweating rather than Canadian room temperature. The cocido de madrileno was delicious, but we have never seen so little in a plate."

Great tapas restaurant, fantastic
and attentive service, lots of diverse choices on the menu. Try the dates wrapped in bacon!"
Dined on 3/5/2014
We really enjoyed the food and the
wine. Great atmosphere. Superb service. The cocktail was not valué for money A bit difficult to find. It is not located in the main street."
Dined on 3/4/2014
Food was fantastic. Ordered the
paella when we got there as it takes time to prepare. Bacon dates were delicious as were black cod, and other dishes we ordered. Good spanish wines to choose from. Location tucked away in condo building; not easy to find."

I celebrated my wife's birthday
here and it went great! The food was great and the servers were super friendly. The manager arranged a Happy Birthday plate for us which my wife loved so much. We would definitely visit again!"
Dined on 2/24/2014
It was tucked away and had to find
the front door. Our food is either overly salty or overly greasy. The angel hair pasta was a disappointment. It tasted like greasy Chinese Hai Mun fried noodles. The 24 month cured ham was tasteless. Lots of hype but no substance. Some people might like the atmosphere."

Looking for a restaurant to take
an out of town client in the area. Patria was recommended. We loved the location and loved the atmosphere and ambiance. The wait staff were courteous and pleasant. Our waitress made an excellent selection for us. The food was great and the portions perfect for sharing. One of the best thing is that it was busy but we were able to speak with one another without yelling and having no problem hearing. Very enjoyable dining experience. Will definitely be back!!"

This was my 3rd visit to Patria
and I was shocked how our food wasnt good this time around. The octopus was a real disappointment as it lacks flavour and it was over cooked. The Paella was too moist for my liking and the seafood flavour did not shine through. Our bill was $250+, for this amount I expect at least good service - which we didnt get and most of all good spanish food. Very disappointed and most likely will not visit again."
Dined on 2/16/2014
I took my 3 adult children there.
We loved it and will definitely return. The tapas style allowed us to try many items and all of them were amazing. Highlights for me were the octopus, piquillo peppers and Cornish hen. But the star was the 48 month Jamon Serrano. Overall a place not to be missed."

I had never been to Patria but had
heard good things. It is a Spanish cousine spot with tapas and mains but best experienced on a share basis. The faetured food is Iberico ham and it is wonderful! Not inexpensive but worth a try."

A very beautiful restaurant in a
cute alley where you can eat lots of small dishes, all prepared to perfection, and taste lots of different wines (3 oz tasting). One advice, take your time ordering; start with something small, then order something else later and so on. Our waiter was nice but a little pushy on food ( "this will not be enough for both of you" but it was too much in the end). If you want paella order immediately at the start because they say it takes one hour (so you have lots of time to eat small dishes before)."

Love Spanish tapas at Patria.
Great bar and Cocktails. Ambience is just great"

The service was a bit hit and miss
this time but the food was off the clock good. Also. It's a great value restuarant value for money is excellent,"

I had high hopes for patria after
it's good reviews but it was too noisy and not very comfortable. Tables are too close together. hard to have a conversation but most important the food wasn't inspiring. Very nice artichoke salad but the brisket and pork belly dish was bland and the paella with lobster quite ordinary and I was hoping for something special. Would be good for a quick before dinner meal but not a special outing."

Excellent server (Devon) would not
hesitate to come back if all service was guaranteed on this level"

Having vacationed in Spain this
past summer, Patria was a real culinary flashback. The food was authentic and delicious and our server was very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list."
Dined on 1/5/2014
I have always been impressed with
all of the reviews & accolades surrounding, Patria and as a lover of Spanish cuisine you can imagine my desire to eat here. The atmosphere was energetic, and may I say very full considering it was the dead of winter on a Sunday. The wait staff were fast, friendly and accommodating. My only disappointment was the amount of salt used in the food; to the point where we couldn't finish some of the dishes. Further, it seems as though there is so much commotion in the kitchen that, on two occasions were served the wrong dish/ drinks. Despite the food falling short of my expectations it was a fun evening and I would return."
Dined on 1/26/2014
Great selection of wine! All the
food recommendations were excellent especially the bacon wrapped dates !"
Dined on 1/20/2014
Service was impeccable - from the
time we walked in to the time we left. I can't say enough about the food - if there's only one thing you want to eat off the menu, go for the paella. We had the Paella Patria and were not disappointed. Langoustine, mussels, monkfish - you just can't go wrong! Wonderful flavours that took me back to my vacation in Spain. The wine list is very Spanish centric as it should be and the prices are pretty decent. I was quite surprised by the older crowd but perhaps it's because the restaurant is tucked away on King Street rather than being front and centre like Weslodge. This resto definitely gets my vote."

Small plates dishes were ok but
not disappointing. Would recommend dates wrapped in bacon. Best dish thus far."
Dined on 1/16/2014
Place has a great feel. Food was
very good (Not amazing). Noisy but not crazy noisy. Would definitely go back."
Dined on 1/14/2014
We had a great dinner experience
at Patria. The food, authentically spanish was delicious and presented beautifully. Full of subtle flavour combinations, the high quality of the ingredients came through in all of our dishes and dessert."
Dined on 1/11/2014
I was at Patria twice in just over
a week -- the first time we were seated near the kitchen, and the second time in the bar area. All I can say is, avoid the bar. It just doesn't have the same feel as the main dining area, and I felt both squished (tiny cafe tables a la Paris cafes) and kind of out-of-the-loop of the dining scene. Although the service was great and the food just as good (I ordered many of the same dishes, they were really that fantastic), next time I'll specifically request a table within eyeshot of the kitchen (which is a lot of fun to watch, bonus)."

We went for New Years Eve! it was
my first time and from what i understand it was a smaller menu for the night. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT food and service."
Dined on 12/31/2013
The menu is filled with many great
choices and everything we ordered was solid. Delicious flavours executed well. Service on the other hand left a lot to be desired. Wine was ordered first but didn't arrive until we were on our fourth dish. When ready to order second round of plates the waiter was MIA for about 15 minutes. And all we got was a "sorry I'm so busy"apology. At the end we simply cancelled the coffees because we figured they were forgotten given that our desserts (awesome churros) were now gone. Again just a quick "sorry about that". Waiter was a nice enough guy but he just couldn't keep it together and we lost out because of it."
Dined on 12/29/2013
It was very good, but a little too
noisy and a little too expensive. But I would recommend that you give it a try because it is a popular spot with very good reviews. After you try it you can decide for yourself whether or not to go back."
Dined on 12/29/2013
This was a terrific meal, the best
tapas we've experienced outside Spain. The dishes came quickly, the wine was good, the service attentive. Surprisingly, although we stuffed ourselves, the bill came only to $50 per person, a bargain for high end Toronto dining."
Dined on 12/17/2013
We celebrated our anniversary with
lunch before we left our weekend in Toronto. The service was great & the food delicious. We would definitely recommend & return on our next visit!"
Dined on 12/16/2013
Even though there was a snowstorm,
and we changed the time of our dinner reservation, our dining experience was outstanding. The level of service, the fabulous food, the attentive staff, and the beautiful decorated room makes dining at Patria and experience not to be forgotten."
Dined on 12/14/2013
Patria was a great experience, I
had been once before but just had a drink and snack at the bar. Our server Devin was very knowledgeable of the menu as we left it up to him to guide us through it upon his suggestions while taking not to minor dietary/allergy related restrictions. We had a couple rounds of apps and share items then shared a main with a great bottle of red also upon his recommendation. Highly recommended if you like eclectic spanish cuisine."
Dined on 12/11/2013
Patria was a great foodie
experience, the Oxtail Rellenos were the highlight of our evening!"
