Great tapas restaurant, fantastic
and attentive service, lots of diverse choices on the menu. Try the dates wrapped in bacon!"

We really enjoyed the food and the
wine. Great atmosphere. Superb service. The cocktail was not valué for money A bit difficult to find. It is not located in the main street."
Dined on 3/4/2014
Food was fantastic. Ordered the
paella when we got there as it takes time to prepare. Bacon dates were delicious as were black cod, and other dishes we ordered. Good spanish wines to choose from. Location tucked away in condo building; not easy to find."

I celebrated my wife's birthday
here and it went great! The food was great and the servers were super friendly. The manager arranged a Happy Birthday plate for us which my wife loved so much. We would definitely visit again!"
Dined on 2/24/2014
It was tucked away and had to find
the front door. Our food is either overly salty or overly greasy. The angel hair pasta was a disappointment. It tasted like greasy Chinese Hai Mun fried noodles. The 24 month cured ham was tasteless. Lots of hype but no substance. Some people might like the atmosphere."

Looking for a restaurant to take
an out of town client in the area. Patria was recommended. We loved the location and loved the atmosphere and ambiance. The wait staff were courteous and pleasant. Our waitress made an excellent selection for us. The food was great and the portions perfect for sharing. One of the best thing is that it was busy but we were able to speak with one another without yelling and having no problem hearing. Very enjoyable dining experience. Will definitely be back!!"

This was my 3rd visit to Patria
and I was shocked how our food wasnt good this time around. The octopus was a real disappointment as it lacks flavour and it was over cooked. The Paella was too moist for my liking and the seafood flavour did not shine through. Our bill was $250+, for this amount I expect at least good service - which we didnt get and most of all good spanish food. Very disappointed and most likely will not visit again."
Dined on 2/16/2014
I took my 3 adult children there.
We loved it and will definitely return. The tapas style allowed us to try many items and all of them were amazing. Highlights for me were the octopus, piquillo peppers and Cornish hen. But the star was the 48 month Jamon Serrano. Overall a place not to be missed."

I had never been to Patria but had
heard good things. It is a Spanish cousine spot with tapas and mains but best experienced on a share basis. The faetured food is Iberico ham and it is wonderful! Not inexpensive but worth a try."
Dined on 2/4/2014
A very beautiful restaurant in a
cute alley where you can eat lots of small dishes, all prepared to perfection, and taste lots of different wines (3 oz tasting). One advice, take your time ordering; start with something small, then order something else later and so on. Our waiter was nice but a little pushy on food ( "this will not be enough for both of you" but it was too much in the end). If you want paella order immediately at the start because they say it takes one hour (so you have lots of time to eat small dishes before)."

Love Spanish tapas at Patria.
Great bar and Cocktails. Ambience is just great"

The service was a bit hit and miss
this time but the food was off the clock good. Also. It's a great value restuarant value for money is excellent,"
Dined on 1/30/2014
I had high hopes for patria after
it's good reviews but it was too noisy and not very comfortable. Tables are too close together. hard to have a conversation but most important the food wasn't inspiring. Very nice artichoke salad but the brisket and pork belly dish was bland and the paella with lobster quite ordinary and I was hoping for something special. Would be good for a quick before dinner meal but not a special outing."
Dined on 1/27/2014
Excellent server (Devon) would not
hesitate to come back if all service was guaranteed on this level"

Having vacationed in Spain this
past summer, Patria was a real culinary flashback. The food was authentic and delicious and our server was very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list."
Dined on 1/5/2014
I have always been impressed with
all of the reviews & accolades surrounding, Patria and as a lover of Spanish cuisine you can imagine my desire to eat here. The atmosphere was energetic, and may I say very full considering it was the dead of winter on a Sunday. The wait staff were fast, friendly and accommodating. My only disappointment was the amount of salt used in the food; to the point where we couldn't finish some of the dishes. Further, it seems as though there is so much commotion in the kitchen that, on two occasions were served the wrong dish/ drinks. Despite the food falling short of my expectations it was a fun evening and I would return."
Dined on 1/26/2014
Great selection of wine! All the
food recommendations were excellent especially the bacon wrapped dates !"
Dined on 1/20/2014
Service was impeccable - from the
time we walked in to the time we left. I can't say enough about the food - if there's only one thing you want to eat off the menu, go for the paella. We had the Paella Patria and were not disappointed. Langoustine, mussels, monkfish - you just can't go wrong! Wonderful flavours that took me back to my vacation in Spain. The wine list is very Spanish centric as it should be and the prices are pretty decent. I was quite surprised by the older crowd but perhaps it's because the restaurant is tucked away on King Street rather than being front and centre like Weslodge. This resto definitely gets my vote."
Dined on 1/18/2014
Small plates dishes were ok but
not disappointing. Would recommend dates wrapped in bacon. Best dish thus far."
Dined on 1/16/2014
Place has a great feel. Food was
very good (Not amazing). Noisy but not crazy noisy. Would definitely go back."
Dined on 1/14/2014
We had a great dinner experience
at Patria. The food, authentically spanish was delicious and presented beautifully. Full of subtle flavour combinations, the high quality of the ingredients came through in all of our dishes and dessert."
Dined on 1/11/2014
I was at Patria twice in just over
a week -- the first time we were seated near the kitchen, and the second time in the bar area. All I can say is, avoid the bar. It just doesn't have the same feel as the main dining area, and I felt both squished (tiny cafe tables a la Paris cafes) and kind of out-of-the-loop of the dining scene. Although the service was great and the food just as good (I ordered many of the same dishes, they were really that fantastic), next time I'll specifically request a table within eyeshot of the kitchen (which is a lot of fun to watch, bonus)."

We went for New Years Eve! it was
my first time and from what i understand it was a smaller menu for the night. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT food and service."
Dined on 12/31/2013
The menu is filled with many great
choices and everything we ordered was solid. Delicious flavours executed well. Service on the other hand left a lot to be desired. Wine was ordered first but didn't arrive until we were on our fourth dish. When ready to order second round of plates the waiter was MIA for about 15 minutes. And all we got was a "sorry I'm so busy"apology. At the end we simply cancelled the coffees because we figured they were forgotten given that our desserts (awesome churros) were now gone. Again just a quick "sorry about that". Waiter was a nice enough guy but he just couldn't keep it together and we lost out because of it."
Dined on 12/29/2013
It was very good, but a little too
noisy and a little too expensive. But I would recommend that you give it a try because it is a popular spot with very good reviews. After you try it you can decide for yourself whether or not to go back."
Dined on 12/29/2013
This was a terrific meal, the best
tapas we've experienced outside Spain. The dishes came quickly, the wine was good, the service attentive. Surprisingly, although we stuffed ourselves, the bill came only to $50 per person, a bargain for high end Toronto dining."

We celebrated our anniversary with
lunch before we left our weekend in Toronto. The service was great & the food delicious. We would definitely recommend & return on our next visit!"
Dined on 12/16/2013
Even though there was a snowstorm,
and we changed the time of our dinner reservation, our dining experience was outstanding. The level of service, the fabulous food, the attentive staff, and the beautiful decorated room makes dining at Patria and experience not to be forgotten."
Dined on 12/14/2013
Patria was a great experience, I
had been once before but just had a drink and snack at the bar. Our server Devin was very knowledgeable of the menu as we left it up to him to guide us through it upon his suggestions while taking not to minor dietary/allergy related restrictions. We had a couple rounds of apps and share items then shared a main with a great bottle of red also upon his recommendation. Highly recommended if you like eclectic spanish cuisine."

Patria was a great foodie
experience, the Oxtail Rellenos were the highlight of our evening!"
Dined on 12/5/2013
Title says it all. Very attentive
staff. And as good as it was, reasonably priced."
Dined on 12/4/2013
I was surprised that the paella
wasn't really available for fewer than 4 people, but after that initial shock I was delighted with almost all the small plates that we had. I thought that the octopus, although delicious, wasn't sufficiently special, but the fried goat cheese and Iberian wrapped dates were outstanding. So was the pepper-wrapped oxtail. The small plate of peppers with sea salt -- the simplest of the evening -- was my favorite. The setting is perfect -- busy, moderate noise, but tables set far apart enough to permit private conversation."
Dined on 12/3/2013
This is small plate dining with
excellent Spanish-style tapas. There's a wide range of tapas, but nothing really inventive. The wine list was very good with lots of Spanish wines covering a wide range of styles and price points that pair incredibly well this food. If you don't know Spanish wines, just ask the sommelier. The room is very modern and tastefully done, but it's big and loud so don't go there for a quiet dinner for two. Service was very good generally, and our only real complaint was that the food came too fast. Our group did the tasting menu and often food was coming fast and furious, creating confusion about what was being served. A minor issue, though, in what was a very good dining experience."

Great spot. I would totally
recommend. I have been wanting to try for months but so busy to get a reservation on the weekend. So with a Monday night opportunity before National Geographic Live, I was in and it was surprisingly busy. I love the decor and vibe and the food was interesting, flavourful and tasty. I would order again the dates, octopus, the first salad on the list with fennel, the potato dish with fried egg. The only 2 dishes that were quite disappointing were the Spanish version of brushetta and the lobster croquettes, both of which were very bland. I think the waitress could have used a little panache and more knowledge about the food to add to the experience. But otherwise, looking forward to going back."

We went on a Wednesday night and
were amazed at how busy it was. The Tapas was very good, as was the wine. They were also accommodating when a third paerson in our party showed up unexpectedly. For a restaurant that has not been all that long in operation (I believe about a year, and it was our first visit), it was a pleasant surprise. My only negative comment - The restaurant was a little hard to find...no signage that we could see on the outside or near the street."
Dined on 11/27/2013
Phone service was repeatedly very
unaccommodating when trying to make changes to the reservation. However the service at the restaurant was very good. My only complaint is that the waiter didn't properly guide us in choosing the right amount of dishes to share. We ended up with waaayy to much food. In terms of food and atmosphere, it is one of the most consistent and best restaurants in the city."
Dined on 11/22/2013
This place impressed me when I
walked in, the decor was beautiful and the hostess was prompt. But our server never introduced his name or even cracked a smile. When we were asking him questions about the menu, and how we were supposed to order. He never took the time to explain the menue to us and when we did ask hio list items he liked....he had no idea what he was really describing, when we asked where on the menu was the item he was describing, he just stood there and ignored us. He had no food knowledge and had to get other servers to come by and explain the dish to us as well as how to eat it. He did a great job with water top-ups though."

I absolutely love Patria! Dinner
was fabulous! From the delicious wine to amazing tapas to scrumptious dessert. We had another wonderful night at this restaurant. The service, as always, was impeccable!! Must try the Bacon wrapped dates, asparagus, brocollini, cheese, and Pan Con Tomate. All we did was order the smaller tapas plate but we were so happy after. I look forward to coming back!!! I am still thinking about the bacon wrapped dates. I found the wine list a bit pricey but I guess it was worth every cent!! A truly magnificent meal."

2nd time dining at Patria, and was
as good as the first. Wide variety of delicious authentic tapas, great wine and sangria. Not the most inexpensive option, so I wouldn't go every week, but well worth it."
Dined on 11/16/2013
This restaurant is tucked away on
King W with no indication that it is totally buzzy and packed with diners until you enter through the inner curtain. The decor is gorgeous. High ceilings accented with large statement art pieces and massive light fixtures. The menu is tapas style and everything we ordered was delicious. Simple flavours combined to great effect. We absolutely devoured the steak with roasted garlic bulb. Very convenient to make reservetions through Open Table, a fantastic service."
