Service not so much. Waiters forgot napkins, forgot requests right after having a long conversation about it. Someone had to dodge a napkin being handed to the person next to her. Servers were all congregating and talking to each other when some guests were trying to flag them down. Bread server was slapping the bread really hard while offering choices. A little weird. Servers convinced not to get a course because it's too early for it (we ended up just not getting that course). Hop these all could be improved! His ahi tuna appetizer and my mosaic vegetable signature dish were outstanding. He said his scallops entree was very good. I had the poached salmon, which tasted fine but looked colorless. The flourless chocolate dessert we shared was indescribably delicious!!! Service was excellent and the decor was lovely. Highly recommended! Be sure to allot at least 2 hours for dinner before seeing a show at the Ahmanson, Disney Hall, or Mark Taper e.g. so you don't feel rushed.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI have always loved Patina.I have always loved Patina. I moved away from LA in 2001 and heard it had closed down. I was just there for a business trip and was amazed to find it was open and right near Disney Hall. I made a reservation for dinner on Sunday night, and it was just as fantastic as I remembered it. The food is really fantastic with beautiful presentation and amazing flavors. Service was wonderful and attentive. The first thing they ask is which event you have tickets for and then they do their very best to get you out the door in time. We arrived a little late and were seated immediately and the maitre'd suggested the food choices that would fit into our timeline. The Turbot was a beautiful plate and was delightfully delicate. The complimentary amuse´bouche and small dessert were sufficient to fill out our menu. The valet parking is reasonably priced at $8 and can be added to your bill, and your car will be right outside the restaurant after the theater event.
