  • "We frequent Patina often and always enjoy our meals. The food is consistently good; and with the addition of Chef Mike, we were excited (and hopeful) the menu would change a bit. We were so pleased when we visited on Wednesday for dinner to see an entirely revamped menu. It was difficult to make a menu selection but the specials which, as our server reminded us, "won't be around for long" were fabulous. I had the gazpacho and the tempura squash blossoms. The gazpacho was tomato-based, topped with crabmeat and so thick I could eat it with a fork. The squash blossoms, stuffed with pimento cheese, melted in my mouth. My husband had the wild mushroom salad and the salmon and he claims it was "out of this world". Definitely worth a visit!"

  • "The menu looks promising and we were really excited to try Patina Grill. The pork belly app was ok, not outstanding- pork belly was chewy but the egg and hollandaise sauce were both on point. The fries underneath were horrible- tasted like freezer burn. We ordered filet and roasted chicken- both of which were unappetizing. The filet was overcooked, served over chewy and under-seasoned greens. The chicken had a chewy skin and was surprisingly bland. The sauce that the chicken was served in was disgusting and off putting. The greens and mushrooms were as unappetizing as the sauce. Our server was fantastic, handled our displeasure well and checked in with us at appropriate times."

  • "For the price I paid, our meal was disappointing. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable. Atmosphere nice. Appetizers: the cheese plate was intriguing and tasty. Entrees: ribeye was excellent and huge. My cheese-and-spinach-stuffed trout was very ordinary. Looking at the online menu, I had been won over by the panna cotta on the dessert list, only to find out that, though it remains on the menu, it is no longer offered. My substitute crepe dessert was dry and ho-hum. Same with my wife's chocolate cake. Considering that we paid over $100, I think we could've expected more. In retrospect, we would have gotten the cheese plate together, then had ribeye and lamb, skipping dessert. "

  • "We arrived on time and were immediately seated for our reservation. Our server paced the courses so that we were able to leisurely enjoy our experience. She even worked our order around a large group that had arrived shortly after us. We started with a couple of drinks where our server was able to make helpful suggestions. As usual the food was top shelf. The Charcuterie appetizer was a new choice for us and we look forward to ordering it again. A wonderful mix of texture and flavor. The wife's tuna special and my rockfish were both cooked to perfection. Patina is clearly our go to place not only for excellent food, but also for a relaxing, intimate, and romantic dining experience!"

  • "The atmosphere and layout for this restaurant really was quite nice and made me very optimistic when we arrived. Unfortunately, the rest of the dining experience did not meet expectations (I'm really easy to please, too!). The service was not welcoming at all. Not that servers were rude, but there certainly was a lack of good service. It took over 30 minutes just to get our drinks. The server was overwhelmed and had to return several times to confirm our order. Not to our surprise but the salad was wrong. That's ok though (again not picky). Once our food arrived, it just finally hit that there are much better places to go. All of the food was either under cooked or over cooked and covered. And lastly, it is too expensive. Never again."

I would go back for special occasions, but it's a little pricey, so my budget won't allow Patina's to be a regular dining establishment. The general ambience was nice, but I only gave ambience 3 stars because I thought the seating was a little uncomfortable. There were several tables positioned along a shared bench that ran across the back wall. On our next visit, we will request a booth. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic restaurant to take your date, Patina's will score high!"

  • "We decided to try Patina again- it used to be a favorite. Our service was great, but the portions were very small and we're not big eaters. My husband's stroganoff portion had very little meat. I ordered short ribs. Strange, they had cut them off the bone. In doing so, they cut off cartilage which was attached to the meat and more difficult to separate than if it had been left on."

  • "I chose this place to take my brother, who has eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world. We wanted something nicer than the usual fare-- in Short Pump, which is filled with chain restaurants. Our waiter was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Everyone's dinner was delicious and just a little bit out of the ordinary. No pretentious combinations of ingredients no one ever heard of, but interesting. My brother declared the beef short ribs one of the best things he's ever eaten. My lamb shank was delicious. I would definitely go back!"

  • "I loved the ambience and setting, very nice for romantic dining. The Manakintowne Arugula was light and refreshing, with delicate hints of country ham. The stuffed quail was done to perfection, and the flat iron was good, although a tiny bit tough. The braised oysters were wonderful, but the portion was tiny. All in all, a good dining experience, but the portions are a bit small and pricey."
