We recommend trying 4th, 5th and Grace st. for street parking and additionally there is a pay lot at 6th and Franklin for $6 all night parking after 6 p.m.

  • "We originally had a group of 8 that grew to 10 and felt welcome (although we did have a 5:00 reservation). This is one of the few venues in Richmond that can accommodate 10 people and allow them to not shout to hear each other. Then there is the food - fresh, tasty, great combinations that you would not see elsewhere. We relaxed for over 2 hours and never felt rushed. "

  • "I went to dine there with high expectations. From word of mouth and reading reviews, Pasture shared high ranks with some other notable top end and up and coming restaurants. I think the experience started out great due to atmosphere and anticipation but fell short due to lengthy periods of time waiting for service. Appetizers were good. Craft cocktails were awesome for the most part. The consensus about dinner from my group and I were, average and bland. The food wasn't bad by any means, it just lacked that " wow " factor that I ve read about. Service was polite but at times absent. I will go back in the future so I hope to see thing s turned up a notch to make this a great place to go not just average. "

  • "We dine out a lot and Pasture is by far our favorite place in town. Food is outstanding as is the service. Cocktails are always delicious We love the surry(smoky bourbon and ginger) and the Amelia ( lavender lemon drop). We were there on a very busy Tuesday and the bar was hopping. Always a good time at this place. Try the peanut hummus!"

  • "I'd been to Pasture once for lunch and enjoyed it, and finally made it here for dinner last Friday night before the opera at Center Stage. The food was good, but nothing memorable. The best items were the "snacks" - both the black-eyed pea falafel and the pumpkin seed hummus were unusual twists on their standard preparation. But the fennel on the winter greens salad was over candied, and the greens were tough. The sirloin steak entree (had by someone at my table) was also ok, but unremarkable (the side of brussels sprouts and squash was much better than the broccolini that came with the steak). Needs more wines by the glass. Service was similarly just ok. With so many other wonderful places in Richmond, Pasture isn't on the top of my list."

  • "My husband and I ate here the other night and our first impression was not the best, we walked through the door and announced we had a reservation and they sat us at a four person table which already had two people sitting there. Really family seating at a restaurant of this quality? Needless to say we requested another table. The actual seats are extremely uncomfortable! I get the farm to table theme but wooden chairs with no cushions and the bar has metal stools that I remember having in art class when I was in middle school. As for the food, it was just okay not what i was expecting from previous ratings. I would consider this very over priced especially for the country style they are going for."

  • "From the outside it looked like a typical restaurant, but once inside I realize this was a nice cozy place. The kitchen was open so you could watch your food being cooked which I liked. Everyone at that place stayed busy. I don't think I saw anyone standing around. The drinks, well the "sweet" tea wasn't sweet at all and the lemonade that I order caught me for a surprise. Its wasn't the normal sweet lemonade, but more like lemon added to sparkling water and spritz. It was different, but in a good way. I found it interesting that every refill I got came in a different looking mason jar with a straw. My cheese burger came hot juicy! The portion of the sandwich and fries I ordered was just right for me. I left there full! overall nice place"

  • "We were in Richmond to go to a concert at The National. We heard about Pasture and since it was close to the theater we decided to give it a try. We decided to try a fish special. The fish was fresh, but it was a little dried out. The vegetables seemed overcooked and were unappealing. The beer selection was good. Service was acceptable, but was a little slow even though the restaurant was almost empty."

  • "Loved it! First date and it was great! The friendliest staff I've encountered in Richmond. They went out of their way to accommodate my needs. I have lots of allergies and most places make you feel like a pain but my server could not have been more pleasant. She recommended things from the menu and then had the kitchen modify a few things. Everything was delicious. I can't say enough nice things about this place. Get the candy bar for dessert!"

  • "Four of us before CSN show. Place was slammed, so you expect service to slow a bit. However, more staff could have been added to handle the crowd. Ritz / Pimento a must. Roasted Pumpkin Hummus solid, also. Winter salad damn good. From there it went downhill with a 45 minute wait for main courses. Pork Chop ($18) dry, dry, dry! Two flounder meals also dry ($21). Additionally, we almost missed the show.Beer list decent, but certainly not a point of difference. Paying $8 for a pint beer is about 25% above other spots.So, four guests get four small plates, three "entrees" and 10 craft drafts ($72) and spend over $200 total....case and point.Friendly staff doing their best, but on this night should not have gone out to Pasture."

  • "We were visiting from out of town, so I don't know how long this place has been open, but they were doing a very solid business on Saturday night. Everything we ordered was delicious- southern flavors but without the grease. I also appreciated the VA-centric beer list. Would definitely visit again the next time I'm in Richmond."

  • "Don't let the looks deceive you. This place is sort of a "diner meets warehouse" look, but the food was fantastic! We had the fish and the pork chop entrees. Both were excellently prepared and very moist as well as amply proportioned. We would definitely return the next time we come to Richmond."

We had a fun evening at a great table, with good service provided by various members of the waitstaff. Nice vibe throughout the evening. Notables: winter greens salad, warm vegetable salad, crispy clams, seafood stew and a butterscotch pudding to die for--we were sharing and a friendly fight broke out over the last bite!"

  • "Really enjoyed the food. Made a reservation for valentine day because of this location being a block from the Carpenter Center. The menu is not over the top, they keep things simple. The beer listing is amazing! It's all craft beer and about 75% of them are from Virginia. Service was good. Be sure to make an reservation, place fills up quick! Plan to go back for lunch soon."

  • "Strange layout in the restaurant. Request a table in the back half of the restaurant so you'll actually feel like you're dining there. Much too cold by the door, unless you enjoy a cold breeze on your back...maybe in the summer? Husband had to put his coat on as well as people dining next to us. Gave the food an overall "good" rating, but very heavy handed on the salt in some dishes. Debating whether to give restaurant another try."

  • "Pasture proved to be worth the hype. We enjoyed several small plates including the Duck Confit Salad, Smoked Trout Rillets, and the Crispy Ham Pork Ribs. The food came out quickly and all plates were really good. Our server was extremely efficient and attentive. The decor was a little odd but grew on me throughout the evening. All in all a great experience."

  • "We started out with the fried pickles which were so good that I only got a few. My wife got the Palmer and I got the beer sampler. They had so many beers to chose from that I had to go with sampler to find the right one for me. For dinner she got the pork chop and I got the burger, which both were not only cooked to perfection, but were very enjoyable. To finish the evening we shared a piece of chocolate cake and coffee. It was very reasonably priced and the atmosphere was enjoyable. We would definitely be going back with reservations made through Opentable."
