Diner Reviews
  • "Four of us went here after a matinee. We're seated promptly at a quiet table, which I had requested. Service was good. Wine choices are great! Especially at the summer half price. Three of us ordered the maple glazed salmon summer special. It was cooked just right and the glaze had just the right amount of sweetness. Even the broccoli was yummy. Husband ordered jalapeño bacon wrapped scallops served with a sweet peach relish/chutney, and a mixed corn side. Wow! It was amazing! Sure hope they have this on the menu when I return! And I will return!"

  • "Once again enjoyed a great diiner with the addition of music while we dined. Nice touch which made the xoerience even better than before."

  • "Summer at Pastiche brings its amazing half off bottles of wine specials. And the food is still terrific and the service is still amazing. Why go anywhere else?"

  • "Pastiche has been one of our favorites for years. The food and service continue to be at the top. The recent remodel is awesome and opens the interior up making a vibrant eatery even better. A great place for that special occasion."

  • "I have been dining at Pastiche since it's opening. I always enjoy the menu and the room. I particularly enjoy having lunch meetings at Pastiche. I appreciate the bistro size options. Happy Hour options are fun. In both cases, the room is great for conversations - whether for business or just meeting with friends. Pastiche is one of my 'go to' places that I always enjoy."

  • "My friend and I shared salmon cakes or was it crab, couldn't tell. They were on the bland side. Presentation wasn't the greatest. I've eaten here in the past during snowbird season and the food was good. I am someone who lives in Tucson all year long and get disappointed when the restaurants slack off in the summer time. I doubt if I will go back to this restaurant."

  • "Pastiche was a trend setter when it first opened. Reliable service, good food and friendly environment. All things remain the same , except the new look. If you want something tried and true almost tired .... this is the place for you."

  • "We were very disappointed. My wife had ribs and her comment was, mine on our grill are 5 times better. I had pasta & shrimp. The pasta was over cooked, very dry and no sauce. I ate about 30% of the dinner. Your bartender does not know how to prepare a "slightly dirty" Grey Goose martini. As my wife said, I ordered a slightly dirty martini, no a glass of olive juice. I didn't have to taste the drink, the glass was a light green liquid. The replacement was slightly better. She finally ordered a plain martini. As for service, it appears that the wait staff is more interested in the regular customers. We rate the entire restaurant on a scale of 1 to 5 no more than a 2. We will not come back nor refer this to our friends."

  • "Pastiche was once an elegant place to dine. Now, just another sports bar. Food was mediocre, no bread or rolls served. honky tonk western music inappropriate. Service was okay, bus just barely. We will not return."

  • "great atmosphere and for a special occasion. We loved the fried avocado!"

  • "I must say that with all of the previous positive reviews, I was pretty disappointed in the food. The ambience and the service was great, as it was a great place to sit and have a nice conversation with friends without having to shout. However, the food was just okay. We had the fried calamari and the fried avocado as an appetizer, and they were okay. The dipping sauce for the calamari was pretty decent, though. However, when it came to the entrees, my quinoa crusted chicken was really dry, and my husband's cajun pasta wasn't super flavorful either. We also ordered an award-winning mac and cheese to split between our table, and that was REALLY good. It definitely deserved an award, as it is a must have!"

  • "Good food, interesting specials, potent drinks, and a friendly staff in a calm setting right in the middle of town."

  • "Pastiche never lets us down. The service, particularly if seated in the bar area, is amazing. The food is always great, but the desserts alone are worth the trip."

  • "This was the first time we had revisited Pastiche since it reopened after a remodeling and menu update. The surroundings were refreshed and attractive. The new menu had some wonderful choices. I particularly appreciated the many options that were offered in a smaller bistro size. The potstickers on the bar menu were outstanding. Perfectly steamed and with a wonderful spicy hoisin dipping sauce, they hit just the right note. Nice choice of wine and beer selections."

  • "Just perfect in every way. Our favorite special occasions restaurant."

  • "My wife and I have eaten at Pastiche several times over the years, but since the remodel, there has been a difference. I don't know of it's been a conscious decision, but the menu has changed (for the better, I think), the ambiance is improved, and the service is still excellent. The menu has always been good, but they've "cut the fat" and really focus on some excellent dishes. It's one of our stand-by's, but this time I was especially surprised at the quality of food."

  • "We have eaten here several times since we first discovered this restaurant about four years ago. One time we spent Christmas Eve dinner there. The wine list is good and the service is also pleasant. The food is very good; sometimes with unusual pairings."

  • "We have been coming here for years and the service and food has only gotten better. We highly recommend Pastiche to all our friends. "

  • "Four of us (mom, dad, son & girl friend) went for an informal Mother's Day dinner; we had a great time. We were given plenty of time (never felt rushed). The prosciutto crostini appetizer was great, the various entrees were very good, and julie's colossal cookie (split four ways) was a great capper. The wine and beer list was very good (and the wine prices were amazingly kind). Importantly, the 'ambiance' permitted conversation without shouting or straining. The newly remodeled space was very open and attractive, and half height walls permitted many tables (including ours) to be in their own little 'nook' while still being in the middle of the restaurant space. All-in-all, very nice (we'll go again!)."

  • "Made reservations for Mothers' Day (dinner). It was my first time at the restaurant. We had overindulged in brunch earlier in the day, but I still wanted to order nearly everything on the menu--it looked so fantastic. I was slightly disappointed when I didn't see a steak salad on the evening menu, but as it turns out, I didn't miss it. Everything was absolutely awesome! I can't wait to go back to try other menu items. Should say that the service was also very efficient and friendly. Our server had been replaced (I think he was actually the bartender) sometime during the course of the meal, but both servers were very pleasant. "

  • "From other reviews, I thought the food was amazing but it was so-so. The cioppino was like having a tomato soup, really sour and the serving is not huge. "

  • "Service was exceptional. Very good presentation of menu item and quality of food. Definitely a great choice for brunch."

  • "This used to be the MUST-GO place in Tucson - and then a dramatic menu change in 2013 tripped the place up. This year's remodeling was not all that could have been desired. We went there in February and left with heavy hearts - this time was much better. Hopefully on the way back - the menu still needs to be returned to its delightful, eclectic days with special specials -- AND they need to lose the burger emphasis added last year."

  • "Check out the daily happy hour, which offers great deals on a list of appetizers and drinks. You may sit anywhere in the restaurant to enjoy this offering. Even two vegetarian options are available!"

  • "this is a very comfortable restaurant. we were welcomed and seated quickly, the wait staff was easy-going and attentive, providing answers to questions we had (ex: the menu lists that steak but not the salad, begging the question, but I was reassured the steak dinner did include a salad; what is definition of "fresh mozzarella?" sliced from a "ball" of the cheese that is in salted water, i.e., a brine). "

  • "Pastiche is our restaurant of choice for holidays -- the specials are always good and you can also order from the regular menu -- and it's a great place to take guests when you aren't sure what kind of food they like. They'll be happy with Pastiche. Food and service is consistently good. "

  • "I have driven by Pastiche a number of times and finally got the chance to stop in. The people were friendly and the food was great. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dining experience. Someone in our party also commented that the wine list was one of the best they had seen in Tucson. Bravo Pastiche!"

  • "I've eaten at Pastiche a few times over the past 10+ years hoping the food would be better and I support the efforts of the establishment in promoting local restaurants. It's boring and inappropriate pairings that don't work well. If you can't put a decent burger together, then why promote it too such lengths. No Shake Shack burger here. The server didn't even know if you had cheddar cheese as an accompaniment. And her sense of timing between serving the appetizer and the main course was approximately 45 seconds without a clue. If this was NY and fortunately for the owners it isn't they be run out of town in a week. In one word...Boring."

  • "I met an out of town friend at Pastiche because I was very confident we would get good service and great food. We were not disappointed! Pastiche is my go to place when I want to be sure I can have a normal conversation over a nice unrushed lunch."

  • "It had been too long since we had visited Pastiche. We love the new open look of the restaurant! The food and service still are impeccable, and the reasonably priced and fairly extensive wine list is worth checking out. Try one of the nicely priced appetizers during happy hour, or one of the great drink specials. You won't regret it."

  • "This is one of the best "American fare" restaurants in Tucson. We dine here regularly and have always been very happy with the quality of the food, the choices available and the friendly service."

  • "We love to go to Pastiche for pre-symphony dinner. The service is excellent and they offer smaller portions that they call bistro portions which are perfect in that you are not so full that you sleep through the concert. We had the salmon which was excellent and a cup of mushroom soup which my husband said was super. They catered to my gluten free needs. They just redecorated the restaurant and the ambiance is lovely."

  • "We were visiting Tucson from the Midwest and found this gem of a restaurant. Wonderful service. Food was well prepared and interesting - not typical fare. Loved the chipotle salmon cakes. The gigantic cookie and ice cream was super. My mahi mahi was great and my wife's tuna was good, but not better than average. The setting is clean and updated, but feels like a neighborhood bar rather than an upscale restaurant. Absolutely well worth the moderate prices."

  • "New renovation and color choices set a relaxing tone and the open bar offers seating that is just as nice as table. service was timed good, not pushing or interrupting. Food is presented well, the four different choices at our table, but nothing over the top, more simple, not afraid to touch due to picture perfect, but appealing. I personally have chosen Pastiche for a group setting of women, whether it be from the office or friends."

  • "We love Pastiche and make an effort to have dinner there once a week. I tend to order my favorites, but my husband tries new things and all the desserts. We both leave happy. The food is terrific, the service by Peyton is the best in town, and we are never rushed no matter how busy it is. There is no place quite like it in Tucson."

  • "Ordered Bourbon Salmon which tasted great. The portion was very small. The broccoli was cold and the basmati rice portion was so tiny you could hardly see it. Had to order and pay for a side order of rice. Salads were excellent. The new decor is colorful but somehow the restaurant still feels like a bi function too. Service was fine."
