  • "My friend and I shared salmon cakes or was it crab, couldn't tell. They were on the bland side. Presentation wasn't the greatest. I've eaten here in the past during snowbird season and the food was good. I am someone who lives in Tucson all year long and get disappointed when the restaurants slack off in the summer time. I doubt if I will go back to this restaurant."

  • "We were very disappointed. My wife had ribs and her comment was, mine on our grill are 5 times better. I had pasta & shrimp. The pasta was over cooked, very dry and no sauce. I ate about 30% of the dinner. Your bartender does not know how to prepare a "slightly dirty" Grey Goose martini. As my wife said, I ordered a slightly dirty martini, no a glass of olive juice. I didn't have to taste the drink, the glass was a light green liquid. The replacement was slightly better. She finally ordered a plain martini. As for service, it appears that the wait staff is more interested in the regular customers. We rate the entire restaurant on a scale of 1 to 5 no more than a 2. We will not come back nor refer this to our friends."

  • "I must say that with all of the previous positive reviews, I was pretty disappointed in the food. The ambience and the service was great, as it was a great place to sit and have a nice conversation with friends without having to shout. However, the food was just okay. We had the fried calamari and the fried avocado as an appetizer, and they were okay. The dipping sauce for the calamari was pretty decent, though. However, when it came to the entrees, my quinoa crusted chicken was really dry, and my husband's cajun pasta wasn't super flavorful either. We also ordered an award-winning mac and cheese to split between our table, and that was REALLY good. It definitely deserved an award, as it is a must have!"

  • "This was the first time we had revisited Pastiche since it reopened after a remodeling and menu update. The surroundings were refreshed and attractive. The new menu had some wonderful choices. I particularly appreciated the many options that were offered in a smaller bistro size. The potstickers on the bar menu were outstanding. Perfectly steamed and with a wonderful spicy hoisin dipping sauce, they hit just the right note. Nice choice of wine and beer selections."

  • "We have eaten here several times since we first discovered this restaurant about four years ago. One time we spent Christmas Eve dinner there. The wine list is good and the service is also pleasant. The food is very good; sometimes with unusual pairings."

  • "My wife and I have eaten at Pastiche several times over the years, but since the remodel, there has been a difference. I don't know of it's been a conscious decision, but the menu has changed (for the better, I think), the ambiance is improved, and the service is still excellent. The menu has always been good, but they've "cut the fat" and really focus on some excellent dishes. It's one of our stand-by's, but this time I was especially surprised at the quality of food."

  • "Four of us (mom, dad, son & girl friend) went for an informal Mother's Day dinner; we had a great time. We were given plenty of time (never felt rushed). The prosciutto crostini appetizer was great, the various entrees were very good, and julie's colossal cookie (split four ways) was a great capper. The wine and beer list was very good (and the wine prices were amazingly kind). Importantly, the 'ambiance' permitted conversation without shouting or straining. The newly remodeled space was very open and attractive, and half height walls permitted many tables (including ours) to be in their own little 'nook' while still being in the middle of the restaurant space. All-in-all, very nice (we'll go again!)."

  • "Made reservations for Mothers' Day (dinner). It was my first time at the restaurant. We had overindulged in brunch earlier in the day, but I still wanted to order nearly everything on the menu--it looked so fantastic. I was slightly disappointed when I didn't see a steak salad on the evening menu, but as it turns out, I didn't miss it. Everything was absolutely awesome! I can't wait to go back to try other menu items. Should say that the service was also very efficient and friendly. Our server had been replaced (I think he was actually the bartender) sometime during the course of the meal, but both servers were very pleasant. "

  • "This used to be the MUST-GO place in Tucson - and then a dramatic menu change in 2013 tripped the place up. This year's remodeling was not all that could have been desired. We went there in February and left with heavy hearts - this time was much better. Hopefully on the way back - the menu still needs to be returned to its delightful, eclectic days with special specials -- AND they need to lose the burger emphasis added last year."

  • "I've eaten at Pastiche a few times over the past 10+ years hoping the food would be better and I support the efforts of the establishment in promoting local restaurants. It's boring and inappropriate pairings that don't work well. If you can't put a decent burger together, then why promote it too such lengths. No Shake Shack burger here. The server didn't even know if you had cheddar cheese as an accompaniment. And her sense of timing between serving the appetizer and the main course was approximately 45 seconds without a clue. If this was NY and fortunately for the owners it isn't they be run out of town in a week. In one word...Boring."

  • "We love to go to Pastiche for pre-symphony dinner. The service is excellent and they offer smaller portions that they call bistro portions which are perfect in that you are not so full that you sleep through the concert. We had the salmon which was excellent and a cup of mushroom soup which my husband said was super. They catered to my gluten free needs. They just redecorated the restaurant and the ambiance is lovely."

  • "We were visiting Tucson from the Midwest and found this gem of a restaurant. Wonderful service. Food was well prepared and interesting - not typical fare. Loved the chipotle salmon cakes. The gigantic cookie and ice cream was super. My mahi mahi was great and my wife's tuna was good, but not better than average. The setting is clean and updated, but feels like a neighborhood bar rather than an upscale restaurant. Absolutely well worth the moderate prices."

  • "New renovation and color choices set a relaxing tone and the open bar offers seating that is just as nice as table. service was timed good, not pushing or interrupting. Food is presented well, the four different choices at our table, but nothing over the top, more simple, not afraid to touch due to picture perfect, but appealing. I personally have chosen Pastiche for a group setting of women, whether it be from the office or friends."

The food is terrific, the service by Peyton is the best in town, and we are never rushed no matter how busy it is. There is no place quite like it in Tucson."

  • "Ordered Bourbon Salmon which tasted great. The portion was very small. The broccoli was cold and the basmati rice portion was so tiny you could hardly see it. Had to order and pay for a side order of rice. Salads were excellent. The new decor is colorful but somehow the restaurant still feels like a bi function too. Service was fine."

  • "New configuration is attractive, and it is still possible to converse in a normal tone. The food is still good, menu more limited and snacky. Fried avocado is quite delicious.Highly recommended is the "gluten free" torte. Seating was odd.Made a rez for 4 with a 5th a possibility later on. Wanted to seat us at a table for four and move when the fifth showed, not thinking about moving table settings, food and drinks if #5 moved mid meal. Inexperienced! Pushed and got a larger table. Server was attentive and helpful, but on-and-off .So, it's still a nice place, and I will still come here, especially since they have a good record of supporting charities, but it's not quite the special occasion place it once was."

  • "Our reservations were for 6 p.m. and we were not seated for another 45 minutes. We did get a chair for my sister as she can't stand for long periods of time. The corn beef my sister and I had was very fatty and we didn't eat it. My brother had lamb and he liked his. The Irish soda bread was like a brick, and that too was not eaten. We did enjoy the dancers and they did very well. We did not see them last year. So this was a plus."

  • "While Pastiche remains one of my favorite restaurants and the service was great, hamburgers may not be their strong suit. My 'medium' done was rare (which I love in a steak), but not a burger) and the spicy cheese I requested as a substitute was not. I was with a friend for lunch and did not want to interrupt our time by having the order re-done, a request I am sure they would have accommodated. The sweet potato frys were excellent!"
