PasteurNew EnergyPasteur has been closed for years. I had dined there before and had a good experience. So, I was pleasantly surprised with the re-opening. The menu is great, with lots of new features and a variety of selections. The new look of the space and the outdoor patio are quite inviting. There is a new energy and feel that charges the space now. I plan to return.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food and ServiceFrom the appetizers to the dessert, excellent food and service. There were 6 of us in our party with a variety of dishes...all excellent. The server and the bus staff were very attentive and on the spot....we'll be back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden gemFrom the moment you enter the beautiful space, followed by superb service and inventive cuisine, this is a great addition to the area. Although it was too cool for the patio, that space is equally inviting. We look forward to returning soon.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest In ClassHaving reopend a year ago after being closed for 5 years Pasteur has been completely redsigned and truly combines elegance with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Morgan was our waiter, He was extremely knowledgable about the menu and had some great recommendations for us. The Duck Wonton soup was a winner along with Crispy Tofu Dish and the Pineapple Calamari. The banana bread pudding was outstanding some of the best I have ever had. Street parking is easy. The new outdoor patio in back will be great when the weather is warm.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic and exotic!Charming Vietnamese spot! Dumplings as good as ones we had in Hanoi. Don't miss the gorgeous new garden. Our second time and we are still impressed. Fresh flowers, candles, soft lighting and excellent service. Go!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThere were four of us, threeThere were four of us, three too busy talking while the fourth did all the ordering. We did all vegetarian - 3 appetizers and 3 entres. One of the entres included tofu in a clay pot, but not having ordered I am not familiar with the names of what we got. But all agreed enthusiastically with all six choices and especially with the sauces which accompanied the appetizers. And the enjoyment of all six dishes was thoroughly enhanced by our wait person who was completely attentive without being intrusive. It was a wonderful evening of food, friends, service and atmosphere. We'll be back.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the decor. Very elegantLoved the decor. The place is a beautiful gem and had no idea this existed. Our Waiter, Morgan, was fantastic~really made our experience wonderful!
The Camute drinks were delicious, as well as the calamari Sa te.
The fish dishes were good, but could have used a bit more flavor.
Would return any day for drinks and appz!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting flavors... PhenomenalInteresting flavors... Phenomenal flavors. Some of the food was very tasty and other Waiting for labsfoods were completely flavorless. Cocktails were original with very good flavors. The service was very good . Even though a very nice setting, the cost of the bill outweighed the quantity a d quality of the food. Not sure we will be back soon4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place. This isI love this place. This is the first time we've been there for lunch and I was wanting more of a brunch, and there was nothing "brunchy" that I could see, but the food was very good as always, and the service could not have been more attentive.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMi had a great dinner at pasteuri had a great dinner at pasteur on saturday. the food was delicious, the waitress was lovely, the ambience was perfect, our bus boy was awesome. pasteur is a great place for many types of occasions and you can order more tapas style if you like or more entrees. lots of choices and amazing drinks to choose from.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood spotService and ambiance were exceptional. The food was delicious (the pho was exceptional). However, the cocktails should be reworked. Too many choices and 2 that I tried were too watered down and not worth even half was was charged.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent serviceWent to Pasteur on a Sunday night during winter, street parking was plentiful, and the restaurant was not too crowded at 8 pm. The server was excellent- thoughtful and provided excellent suggestions from the wine list and menu. The food was fresh and portions appropriate. For two people we had two apps, two small plates of entrees and a full entree and we took a small portion off that home.Additionally, we had a scoop of green tea and vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce.
the server was gracious and answered a lot of our questions about the interior, as well add the back patio. I'd definitely come back with a bigger group in the summer to enjoy the outside dining.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here was EXCELLENT!The food here was EXCELLENT! Will be returning soon!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, prompt, friendlyGreat food, prompt, friendly service. Lovely evening.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed the appetizers,We enjoyed the appetizers, desserts and soups most of all for the value. The entrées seemed a tad expensive for the quantity of food served.
The Nem (ground chicken cooked on sugarcane stalks) was good but too small, the shrimp and crab tempura was a big flattened shrimp with crab, then battered and fried. Our favorite were the Saigon crepe and the lemongrass beef rolls.
Soups are a great value.
The Bo Luc Lac was perfectly cooked beef marinated, grilled and served with a red wine butter sauce. The caramel glazes calamari were not too sweet. The curried beef was tender with a balanced flavor.
Their green tea ice cream was very creamy and no barnyard flavor. Fried bananas were delicious. Bread pudding tasted great - but a bit rub2/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
