  • "We ate at Pasta Vino Saturday night. It was busy and obviously the well-intentioned staff and kitchen couldn't handle it. We waited a very, very long time for any food. The waitress was very nice and offered us a free drink or dessert. They forgot our salad and charged us for it until we pointed out it had never arrived. The food was very good, but the bill pretty high considering the small to moderate portion of pasta. Big portion of veal. Gluten-free options great. Might have to try it again to see if they can get their act together"

  • "Very nice atmosphere, hip and cool with very average service and below average portion size. We have been twice and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit, so went back with a much larger party that we hosted for dinner. We dine out very often and are always looking for ago to place to bring guests and friends or for a night out for my wife and I. We had hoped that PastaVino was going to be our place since we are new to the area, but we have found numerous others in Boulder that are head and shoulders above."

  • "Reserved table three weeks in advanced for 5 people and initially seated at table for 10 in the middle of the restaurant. Waited 30 min for another table. "Dirty" martini's looked like lake water and tasted like straight olive juice. Host was rude and questioned our complaints about the drinks. Everyone in our party was very disappointed with the food and service. Will not return."

For a restaurant that post its pride and joy on pasta and wine he knew little to nothing. the restaurant was completely empty it was a rainy night in Boulder which is very rare and the service was awful"

  • "Being Valentine's Day, we decided to try a new restaurant in Boulder. The Prix Fixe menu in the newspaper advertised $50 for a 4 course meal. Upon arrival, we were told it was $59 for a 3 course meal. I thought that maybe I had been mistaken about the meal, so I did not say anything. When I got home, I looked in the paper and confirmed my suspicions. The food was mediocre. The service was horrible (the wait staff kept mixing up the orders - no one around us received the correct meal, the first time around) The floor also shook constantly as the wait staff loudly clomped by, going between the kitchen and the bar. Should have gone to Aji where our friends enjoyed their 4 course meal for $50 including a glass of sparkling wine."

  • "Although we really like PastaVino, it could be so much better. We typically like restaurants that focus on the quality of the food, not the quantity. However the portions at PastaVino are really too small; the entrée pastas are more like an appetizer portion. And it is very noisy, as they put too many people in the space. That said, we still enjoy it, but would like to see some change made."

  • "Have been here before and loved it. Chose this restaurant for vday and already knew what I wanted to order. No one ever said a thing about a pre-fix menu or that none of my favorites would be on the menu. Portions were insanely small even for them. Everything was bland. $60/person was a joke. On a regular evening there, I would have never spent that much on food and definitely would have never expected the portion sizes to be tapas sized. Still annoyed two days later. Won't be back."

Overpriced menu for the portions you receive, frazzled waitstaff and management that seemed disorganized, and food that was prepared incorrectly when asked upon ordering. Not recommended for anyone looking for a wonderful meal in Boulder, CO."

  • "Wow. Rarely have I been treated so poorly at a restaurant. The waitstaff literally looked me up and down and sneered! We made reservations for 5:30 on Valentine's day - even though their website says "happy hour everyday", they did not serve happy hour on Valentine's day. That was fine - but what was NOT fine is that several days ago their website listed their fixed menu as $50 for a 4-course dinner and when we showed up it was $59 for a 3 course dinner. When we asked about it, we were basically shrugged off. We ended up leaving and clearly they did not care nor did they try to accommodate us in any way."

  • "Recommended by colleague, not a restaurant where we normally could afford to eat PROS Great tasting appetizer but sauce was unremarkable Pumpkin and Butternut squash soup to die for Ryan recommended a wine for my wife that was PERFECT Scallops good CONS Bland salad (1st on menu---uninspired dressing) Tortelloni -- would not order again -- bland & undercooked Salmon not available Seared Ahi okay but on a mushy bed of sautéed onions BOTTOM LINE: The restaurant showed more promise than actual results, with the exceptions noted above. For us this was a real splurge so we came away slightly disappointed, but not overly so. We might go back but would mostly order different items. Without Ryan we would have probably left more disappointed."

  • "I love carpaccio so I was sold when the appetizer got to the table. I had the Carbonara and it was excellent, just perfect in any way. Portions are on the smaller side, but more than enough for the quality and richness of the food. Ask for the cellar if you want a quieter spot. We will certainly be back for more."

  • "The homemade pasta is incredible. Great texture, flavor. The prices were very reasonable, and the staff was fantastic. The hosts were very welcoming and extremely accommodating, the floor manager took terrific care to welcome us and make us feel special, and the waitstaff was attentive but not obtrusive. I haven't had an overall terrific experience at a restaurant in a long time, and these guys nailed it. I left feeling very impressed, and am looking forward to going back!"

  • "This was not a good experience. We went on NYE with a group of 7. Checked the website to see if they had a required menu for the occasion, it did not warn us that we had limited options. Got there, it took them a long time to just get us water. Our server was barely around. On multiple occasions he would fill up a couple of water glasses then leave the rest empty and not bring any more till the next course. He barely talked to us at all. The food was alright. They did have gluten free options which was nice, but they charged us extra for a small plate of gluten free noodles and did not tell us until they gave us the check. None in my party were very happy with this place. It was overpriced for what we got"

  • "My Spaghetti Alla Carbonara was just ok...I've had this dish in two other restaurants (both neighborhood restaurants in Paris) and your version was "sauce poor" In other words, the spaghetti was fairly dry which is a pity because just a bit more sauce (white wine based) and you might have a for sure return customer. The Sauvignon Blanc, for its price, was actually not bad. The meat balls (my wife's choice) were ok but nothing to create headlines. Whether a gamble on you part to up the quality a wee bit in the expectation of drawing in more customers would work or not...but you might consider trying it. The physical character of you restaurant is reasonably attractive so you wouldn't have to spend any extra money there. Jim Faller"

  • "This is a large high room and not in any way romantic or cozy.... but that's not what I think this place is about. It is pure and simple: completely excellent food and very attentive service and great wine and great cocktails. So, while I feel neither the decor, nor the layout, are conducive to a romantic tete-a-tete, for families, parties, groups of friends, the office oh (!) - what the heck - just about any other occasion - this place ROCKS. Plus I feel that, compared with several other competitors close by, the prices are actually pretty reasonable and certainly a bargain when one thinks about the very high quality of the food. Simply outstanding."

  • "I have eaten at the restaurant previously and enjoyed the food immensely. This time i felt the portions were too small and the tuna my friend ordered was way over done. I thought the lamb was excellent and prepared well. I just would have like a little more food. The wine prices were too high as well. We paid more for our wine than dinner which dident seem appropriate."

Ambiance was fun, noise level was perfect to converse with everyone at the table. Even the hostess came around and asked how we were doing and even poured us more wine. Would definitely return."

  • "It's hard to imagine that a restaurant West of the Pearl street Mall in Boulder could be overlooked by hordes of discriminating diners....But this one doesn't get the full attention it deserves, mainly because it is sandwiched between Salt and the 3 very popular Kitchen properties. You ought to try it when you are next in town for a special meal. The cheerful and bright interior is very welcoming, along with the staff. Food choices were varied and well executed. Desserts were especially creative and delicious. I'm definitely going here for Happy Hour when first the occasion presents itself!"

  • "The restaurant cannot handle a large crowd. We were there on a Friday night at 7:30. By that time they were out of several entrees and salads. Orders were confused, wrong and forgotten. We were brought the wrong bottles of wine, wrong salads, wrong entrees, and, in one case, the entree was forgotten and when the waiter was reminded he know longer had the entree. Another was substituted but it was poorly cooked and had no vegetables in the vegetable pasta. The waiter was not apologetic and the service was slow and poor. The manager did make adjustments on the bill and provided free dessert to the table but I would never go back to this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone else."

  • "We had a spacious table by the front window for our party of five. Loved the option for gluten free pasta, however the pasta was a little undercooked and the boar ragout was nothing special. Highlights included the sea bass appetizer and pistachio creme brulee. We had a lovely time though we all agreed it was a bit too loud in there. I think we were all hoarse at the end of the meal. Aside from the noise level, the restaurant has great ambiance and interesting, delicious specialty cocktails."
