Diner Reviews
  • "I heard so much about this restaurant so we book a reservation for a Saturday night.when we arrived a couple minutes early we check in and was told there was a little wait..Twenty five minutes later we were sat.At least the hostess asked if we wanted any drinks witch was good.when we got to the table our waiter came right over and took our order.once we got our food it looked ok but it wasn't nothing special for the price.my wife had some pasta with lobster on top and when she got it the lobster spelled so fishy that she didn't even eat the lobster.i had the pork pizza and that was ok but would not get it again if we went back.we had a pear salad witch was really good and the best part of the meal was the bread ."

  • "When we were seated the dining room has a pungent smell. It turns out it was fresh Parmesan cheese that was on the bar as soon as we walked in. It was noticed by other diners as well. Fortunately, the mait're d moved it. We have dined there many times and always enjoy this place and look forward to going back!!"

  • "This was my first time at Pasta Pasta, and my wife and I really enjoyed it, the food was excellent, service was great, would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family."

  • "The grilled monk fish was excellent with organic spring mix and light dressing. The pizza wasn't good, fresh tomatoes instead of a smooth sauce and low quality mozzarella cheese, I wouldn't recommend."

  • "We love Pasta Pasta and have always been delighted with the food and servers every time we've gone (we've been going for years). It never fails. It's very satisfying to know that when we go to Pasta Pasta the food and service are always consistently wonderful. The only issue that keeps us from going more often is the parking difficulties in Port Jefferson in the summer, winter seems to be easier to park."

  • "Unbelievable food. Great portions! Service was professional and courteous. It was my 21st anniversary and they welcomed us with Champaign and good wishes."

  • "Just a wonderful night out. My wife had the tortellini with lobster dish and I had the Seafood fra diablo both were to die for. The waitress although quite busy with a full house was very attentive. If in Port Jefferson don't pass up a opportunity."

  • "Me and my best friend have been dining at Pasta Pasta since it opened in 1991. When I met my husband, him and I have been going there also. Over the years it has gone through it's changes but has remained to be a great place to re-connect and enjoy a fabulous dinner. Pasta Pasta has a great dining atmosphere as well. The service is always great. We always recommend that Anthony serve us as he is always so welcoming, friendly and just great all around! So all in all, I give Pasta Pasta a 5 star rating and I have never had a bad experience in 13 years!"

  • "We found the place to be VERY cozy, the lighting was all amber tones and looked like a fireplace was lit somewhere. The ambient music was just loud enough for privacy. The food came out in a timely manner and was delicious!"

  • "No other way to describe it other than "average". The service was OK and attentive at times, but the appetizers took a long time to be served. The prosciutto with the mozzarella was tasteless and a bit chewy. Pasta with crab and lobster meat was very good. All in all not a bad experience but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. Chianti by the glass was just average, especially for the price."

  • "Great food, service, and ambience. I requested a specific table with my reservation, and the restaurant accomodated it graciously. Excellent, moderately priced wine list that included a great selection of local wines."

  • "Pasta Pasta is always great. Their food and service are consistently excellent. They never raise their normal prices for a holiday like New Year's Eve. They have holiday specials and again, their prices are not rip-offs. Their lunches are also very good."

  • "All of our food was absolutely delicious starting with the bread they serve the table! We ordered the ravioli parmesan and the filet mignon.. both were perfect! Seemed very crowded when we went but our waiter was attentive and very friendly!"

  • "We had a great table by the window on a quiet Sunday night. We never felt rushed while deciding on the wine or what apps and main dishes we were going to have. We settled on the Grilled Asparagus, Parma Prosciutto and shaved Romano over arugula and the blackened chicken and shrimp apps. Huge portions and so delicious. We had the Seafood Fra Diavolo and baked chicken cutlet as mains and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The waitstaff were attentive without being intrusive and we never felt abandoned. It was a great night."

  • "My experience at Pasta Pasta was great the other night. The bread is AMAZING! The wine was delicious and the food was great and fresh. The service was awesome and we had a great time overall. The ONLY issue was the bus staff asking WAY too many times to clear our appetizer plates. We had ordered the mussles and we were dipping the bread in the sauce and the bus girl was just too eager to take the bowl!. Anyway, that aside it was great!!"

  • "Other than waiting just a bit too long for the first beer and being a little cramped against the window / wall, we had our usual great experience at Pasta / Pasta. Side note... we also love doing take-out catering trays and private room parties."

  • "This is a 'go to' place for a quiet, delicious, dinner or lunch. It has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere where you have a conversation without fighting the ambient noise. The food is interesting and creative and delicious! Although it is Pasta, Pasta, they have an extensive gluten free menu too! I love it!"

  • "My first time eating at this restaurant and I was more then satisfied. The food was excellent and came out in a great amount of time. The waiter did not hover over us but he also wasn't too far away when needed. One of my concerns that night was being able to chat with my date and i was surprised at how quiet this place was. It was a nice scene overall. I would definitely recommend."

  • "My wife and I were meeting some friends for a birthday celebration ( friends bday ). Reservation was for 6:30, our friends were running a little late and we asked be seated so we could get a glass of wine or a beer. We were told that we should wait for the entire party to be seated. When we ordered a bottle of wine she poured and said the bottle will be on the other side of the room. Refills were a pain to get as we had to wait for the waitress appear. The food was tasty, portions were generous. Parking was a little tough. We will give it another try but not in a hurry"

  • "This was our 2nd try in four weeks to see if food was better. The bacon wrapped shrimp was awful. My husband ordered a tuna tower that looked more like overlooked old roast beef than tuna. Staff was told but didn't really look like they cared. Don't think we'll be back. We'll stick to the Fifth Season around the corner."

  • "Dinner was terrific, atmosphere nice...great location, you could walk off a heavy meal through downtown Port Jeff...Parking is a small issue in winter, big issue in summer. You can dress up or come in casual...loved this place."

  • "We have been here before and enjoyed this place; this was a big disappointment. Our table was jammed up against a wall, obviously squeezed in, and was on a tilt. The bus person was cordial and attentive; our waiter, not so much. We got bread, no refills. We ran out of drinks and the waiter appeared not to notice nor asked. The big problem was the food. Obviously cooked in advance and microwaved. Fried items were lukewarm and soggy. My chicken breast was thick, lukewarm, and unappetizing. Linguine was watery. The major catastrophe of the night was the crème brulee - this place is supposedly known for it. It was COLD. The "hard caramel crust" was like a layer of Elmer's glue. An average cost of $50pp -never going back."

  • "Food overly flavored with salt and garlic. Nothing lighter or heart healthy. Restaurant was too dark. Needed flashlight to read menu! This is third time we tried there. Won't be returning."

  • "I used to go here all the time. Always great. Good service and good food. I guess it's changed to terrible service(I felt like I was in a diner only less friendly). Food came out way wrong (filled with butter when I made it very clear no butter) I think the gave me the same meal back. Steak was low quality. Don't go to this place. Way overated. It may have been good 20 years ago. It hasn't kept up with the times. Z-pita is much better quality much better service and a much better value."
