PassionFish - Reston VABest seafood in areaButternut lobster soup....delic....beet salad, good but small serving for the price.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFlounderI had the crispy flounder - skin on - perfection. Mothers Day so I sprang for a Merseult - great pairing. Mom got the Icelandic Haddock. Desert was a rhubarb strawberry crisp. Worth writing a review on, need I say more?5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Mother's Day DinnerWhat an amazing dinning experience. Our server Goulnara, was perfect. She explained the dinner menu flawlessly. Stopping to explain details of each dish. We had appitizers of Oysters and Sushi. Both were perfect. My wife ordered the broiled scallops with pasta and bacon. I ordered, on Goulnara's recommendation, the Bronzini. This Mediterranean Sea bass is served whole and filleted table side by the server. It was delicious!
This was the third trip to this restaurant and again were not disappointed. It's one of the best sea food restaurants I have ever experienced and has kept the personal service and quality of food at the highest levels.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day 2013I took my wife and teens here for a special Mother's Day Lunch. Everything was as perfect as could be, the atmosphere, the food, and the service. I'll be sure to take out of town guests and family here, at least the ones I want to spoil.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evening saved by greaserviceThis is a great restaurant and this was a return visit. The food was as great as ever. The restaurant a little noisy but enjoyable none the less. A potential evening spoiler, a full glass of water spilled over my wife's setting, plate, dress and chair, was rescued by a great waiter. He was there immediately, no questions, he went into recovery mode. Everything was done so quickly, quietly and perfectly that we were back at our dinner in moments - with a replaced entree for my wife. Our waiter saved the evening - thank you.

Very nice looking place inside, wonderful and knowledgeable servers, and good food. Prices were about $28-$38 on average for entrees. And a moderately priced Gruner V. topped it off!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, excellent serviceI took a customer and some of my employees to PassionFish. The food was excellent and the service was phenomenal. Very attentive server and bus staff. Our wine glasses and water was always filled. They make you feel like you're the only table in the restaurant. Had the lobster and butternut squash soup which was great. I also had the Mahi Mahi special which was cooked to perfection. We also ordered some sushi rolls which my guests thought was very good. I highly recommend the restaurant for a special occasion or impressing clients.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Small PortionsThe quality of the food is high, but the portions are small. It remains one of the better restaurants in the Reston Town Center though.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe frequent this restaurant. We frequent this restaurant. He is creative and passionate about the food his kitchen sends to each diner. Clearly the best sea food restaurant in the area.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent but Missing the SalmonI had the Miso glazed arctic char. While good, I wish they had kept the Miso Glazed Salmon on the menu. It was my favorite place to eat salmon.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMRepeat CustomerI am a repeating customer to this restaurant. Crab cakes have no filler-all crab and
halibut was cooked to perfection-moist and flaky. Asparagus were best
we have had in a long time. Service likewise is outstanding. Makes
for a perfect dinner.
Best seafood in NVA!!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousNothing to criticize but at the same time I can't say I was blown away by any particular dish. This should not be interpreted negatively - everything we were served was delicious, well cooked, well seasoned, etc - it's just that I can't say anything was a revelation. We'd go back in a heartbeat.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPassionFish is always veryPassionFish is always very busy on Friday evenings & this one was no exception. I had forgotten how difficult it is to talk because it is so noisy. There was a woman sitting behind our table who was yelling to make her table companions heard; very unpleasant for us. But the food here is always very good; our server was great at accommodating our extensive needs (my husband & I are both dieting and had very exacting requests about what we could and could not eat). He made suggestions about what to consider that would be better for us and then easily modified everything to suit us. Our friends, who didn't have all the dieting considerations, loved the crab and corn soup and the crabcakes and a chocolate dessert.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBig FishThe flounder was as huge, very nicely prepared, and presented.
The Collards with Bacon was a nice Southern accent and complemented the dish well. You don't normally see Collards in an upscale DC area restaurant.
Overall a bit pricey though.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, Passion Fish isAs always, Passion Fish is a great location in Reston for a business lunch. The chef's special appetizer of asparagus wrapped in prosciutto was outstanding, and the service was spot on as always.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely loved this place!Absolutely loved this place! Awesome sushi! We had the cold water lobster for dinner. It was spectacular! Overall a 5 star experience. I will be back!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrated wedding anniversary.Celebrated wedding anniversary. Menu was personalized with our names. Nice touch.
Greeted with "Happy Anniversary" by host and waiter. Offered comp beverage or dessert.
Very nice evening.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMostly excellentFood excellent, menu original, all fresh. Service very good until they starting cleaning the floor behind us at around 9:20 p.m. and we were treated to waiters' discussion of their plans for the weekend (take it somewhere else, please). It felt as if they were hurrying us, which was irritating. The 20% service charge on parties of 6 and over tends to make this place one for special occasions only. In fact, the food was pricey as it was, so 20% was onerous. The American system of forcing waiters to rely on tips, amounts to passing their salary on to the diner, a questionable employment practise as it is. Worse, though, is that it completely skews the concept of gratuities: you tip if you're satisfied, not out of compulsion.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe atmosphere at PassionThe atmosphere at Passion Fish is conducive to both business and personal dining. The staff was accommodating and professional and the menu offered a great variety from whihc to choose. Service was very good and the experience was pleasurable.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently reliableMy go-to restaurant in Reston Town Center for client lunches. I highly recommend the Tuna Nicoise salad paired with a delicious glass of Andrew Rich Pinot Noir.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMYou might mention that parkingYou might mention that parking is across the street when people make reservations. t. I did not know that and parked three blocks away.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took our dear friends ourWe took our dear friends our for their birthday and had a wonderful time. We had sushi appetizers which were outstanding and each of our fish entrees were excellent!. Highly recommend it!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are never disappointedWe are never disappointed at Passion Fish. The presentation is beautiful.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Blah ExperienceFood was fantastic. Calamari and fried clams for appetizers, which were delicious, but I was confused by the lack of Calamari. I don't need a mountain of calamari, but I'm pretty sure there was more lettuce, carrot trimmings, and sauce than actual calamari.
My friend had the halibut, I had the scallops - both were perfect in every way.
Atmosphere was good, but our server was poor. She was combative and condescending about things like upsells and timing. Not a big deal, but certainly a distraction and a cloud over the experience. Her helpers were very attentive and pleasant, the hosts/hostesses were too.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Seafood - A Repeater.I relied on other reviews to dine at this restaurant and it was great. Our server was perfectly attentive, none of those uncomfortable waiting times for anything. The lobster & butternut squash bisque was excellent, full of an abundance of succulent lobster meat. Our meals were great and the cocktails inventive. When our server poured my cocktail and it came up a smidge short in the glass, (neither my husband of I said anything) she immediately noted it and got and additional perfectly mixed portion to add to it.
The restaurant was almost full when we arrived but they seated us immediately, which we appreciate. Great place to enjoy a meal, we will definitely return.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPassion Fish is one of myPassion Fish is one of my most favorite restaurants for meeting with colleagues. There is enough privacy for dicussions that don't require yelling over noise. There is enough patronage so the ambiance is energetic and upbeat. The food is terrific. Eating good food is the perfect backdrop for productive and creative planning as well as strategic thinking. Service is excellent, timely, courteous, respectful and inobtrusive. Great place overall.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for special occasion,Great place for special occasion, private dinner, or a work lunch or dinner. For special occasions they will personalize the menus - nice touch. Food always great.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Passion Fish, and it did NOT disappoint. The food and service were par excellence! From our arrival and being greeted by such a warm and friendly staff to the departing attention from Chris, our server, dining there capped off our Easter Sunday. This will definitively be one of our go-to places to dine.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Sunday brunch selectionsEaster Sunday brunch selections were wonderful. We had two of the specials, a grilled aspargus salad and a crab cake benedict, as well as the tuna tartar and the halibut from the main dinner menu. Everything was prepared to perfection and exceeded our expectations. Our waiter provided outstanding service.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough more expensive thanAlthough more expensive than competitors, the difference is there. The quality of the food and the service was excellent.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was fabulous and ourFood was fabulous and our server was wonderful --meal was paced slowly which we wanted at no time did we feel rushed through our courses --Bravo to our server Yanka--thank you for a great night3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server was outstanding! Our server was outstanding! She knew every dish we asked about which helped us to make choices we were all pleased with. The sushi was delicious; glad that crab legs were in season.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPlus Points: We enjoy thePlus Points: We enjoy the meals here b/c you can select your fish, select a sauce, and select side dishes - all very 'individual'. And the salads are truly great!
Hope management will consider: dinner salad/vegetarian friendly options. Also, there are NO diabetic friendly desserts. We were unable to get plain berries w plain cream - our server was kind enough to explain even the berries are sugar washed, and there is no 'plain cream'. '
Special cocktails' were top shelf priced with bottom shelf liquor (with one exception) Wine markup is tolerable...
We do enjoy dining here - but don't frequent as often as we might due to the limitations...3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways AmazingPassionFish is one restaurant I frequent. The food is amazing, the décor is amazing, the service is amazing... PassionFish is AMAZING!!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were great. I'm deducting a star because I ordered my salad without dressing and it came dressed, which they did replace, and I also declined having a sauce for my fish, but it arrived with sauce all over it.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe made the reservation withWe made the reservation with a note stating we would like a booth, and that it was for a birthday celebration.
We received our booth, and they brought out a special treat for the birthday girl with no request from us. It was a surprise for everyone at the table.
Service was absolutely amazing.
Sushi was awesome.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service, butGreat food and service, but noise level too high for us.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food .... dress warmlyLots of interesting choices. We both had fresh fish prepared very nicely. I wish there had been a dap of of rice or a nice soft roll on the plate to enjoy the sauce and possibly help keep the food warm. Nice that you get to chose a side dish from an interesting assortment. Sides come in their own dish so there is nothing to keep the food warm. I would suggest they turn off the AC and turn up the heat. I had to keep my coat on the whole time.... I would have liked to try some oysters on the half shell or sushi to start but needed somthing hot. I guess Reston had become "uptown" since prices were the same as their DT restaurants. No one minded, the place was packed.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
