  • "I was disappointed last Friday night at Passion Fish. The place is beautiful, menu is flawless in its balance/offerings, and the ambiance is nice. We sat upstairs, away from the bar which was really hopping! The specials sounded so appetizing that I had trouble making a choice. I settled on the grilled octopus appetizer and the red curry lobster clay pot for an entree. The octopus was covered is sauce and mushy. My entree was expensive ($45) which didn't seem out of line until I got the food. It was canned pineapple and 2 medium sized lobster claws that were swimming in a pool of red curry... so much so, it looked like soup. There is no way this dish was worth $45. My mother ordered the fried clams - all breading and few clams :("

  • "Our experience was mixed. Mahi with macadamia nuts was excellent as was the beet salad, but the octopus and the sushi were underwhelming - the sushi at Sweet Ginger in Vienna is much better and less expensive. We expected a much better dinner given the cost."

  • "The Passionfish is a place that my wife and I visit for some special occasions. We went on a Friday night and my wife says that we better make a reservation through OpenTable. We reserved about 1.5 hours before our reserved time we chose. When we got there we heard 1.5 hour wait....boy were we happy that we had a reservation. Not only that, the table was ready for us the minute we got there and seemed to have one of the best seats in the house. We will always use OpenTable!"

  • "We've dined at PassionFish several times before, but this night was truly memorable. From the appetizers to dessert, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. And the atmosphere was charming. The meal was in celebration of my fiance's birthday and when making reservations, I requested a window seat, and got the PERFECT corner table; very romantic and secluded. We'll most definitely be back! Make it a GREAT day, Tony Palm"

  • "Passion Fish - Was incredible. My wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. First, they call earlier in the day to confirm our reservation. I mentioned we would be celebrating our anniversary. They said we are honored to have you here. As we came through the door, the Host confirmed our reservation and said Happy Anniversary, then they took us to a great table that was private and our server - immediately came over - congratulated us and brought us a Champaign Toast. The cool part was the Menu, they provided us a custom menu that said Happy Anniversary. Our server was incredible - Jon, he knew anything and everything about their menu. Hats Off to Passion Fish - They did an incredible job! Thank You!"

  • "The service at Passion Fish was excellent. The ambience was very inviting. However, the food was insanely salty. They use salt as their main ingredient. There was rock salt in their salads. The sushi was also very salty. If one dined here too often, one would definitely develop hypertension. Like all of Jeff Tunks' restaurants, the kitchen uses way too much salt. It is a lazy and unhealthy way to season food. Maybe they can try some different ingredients to season their dishes?"

  • "dinner was very good but maybe not GREAT, which it has been in some of our past experiences at PassionFish. My Dity martini was a highlight..perhaps the best I have ever had. The oysters were fantastic. The Spider Roll was a bit of a disappointment, which is unusual as I have enjoyed it there before. Hubbie and I both had fish dishes that were excellent. They know what they are doing when it comes to sauces. Lemon buerre blanc and red curry thai are amazing on anything & everything. We will go again!"

Always delightful and combine that with an excellent staff and I wonder why we we'd go anywhere else for great fish. Nice ambiance easy parking and great experience."

  • "Great experience -- we were getting together for my sister-in-laws birthday lunch and it was snowing outside. As my sister pulled up in front of PassionFish I dashed outside to help my 84 year old Mother out of the car -- and immediately a very nice man appeared to help usher my Mother inside out of the snow -- I'm thinking either a manager or the maitre'd --- an unexpected and kind gesture. I had asked for a quiet table by a window if possible -- and we had the perfect table. Our waiter was wonderful -- attentive but not overly so. The food was delicious and the complimentary birthday dessert for "the birthday girl" was just perfect too."

Shared their very tasty and unique Blue cheese caesar salad for an appetizer. Caramel creme brulee was perfect conclusion to a great meal--and service was just right-attentive but not intrusive!!!"

But I think $38 for two medium size crabcakes is a bit too much. Otherwise, I guess the prices were pretty typical for a mid-level restaurant."

The sushi is very good and the raw bar extensive. The menu has remained pretty much the saker over the years and might benefit from some new dishes.   • "Great business lunch spot. Up stairs was nice and quiet and the shrimp and grits were excellent. Service was efficient and courteous. The wait staff let us linger well after our meal was over to discuss business retuning to fill our coffee and water discreetly. I love this restaurant and their selection of fresh fish and sushi as well as the variety. The sushi is a little on the pricey side but I think the lunch specials and other entrees were reasonably priced."

  • "I looked forward to bringing my daughter for her 16th birthday. We were seated upstairs next to the door for the wait staff. The traffic of them coming in and out was very intrusive and not at all a good feeling. I felt like I was in a train station. The waitress was pleasant in a very fake way. She kept trying to up sell our food. Because we ordered Sushi she made a statement like it wouldn't be enough food that they were appetizer sizes. I had to ask for a napkin and when she didn't bring it I finally asked for one from a kitchen runner. Honestly the menu and the attempt to be somewhat fine dining did not mesh."
