Diner Reviews
  • "The food and the service are always excellent. It was the perfect atmosphere for visiting with good friends."

  • "All I can say is WOW! We dined on a Tuesday evening so the place wasn't crowded. We decided to try the Chef's Tasting option, 4 courses for only $55 per person- you can't beat that I had the foie and my husband had the duck 3 ways- AMAZING! Scallop entree was out of this world. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable. The farmers they use are listed directly on the menu and the location of each farm. We are excited for their move but will keep coming back to Fort Mill while they are here!"

  • "Passion8 has become our new weekly spot. I can't express enough how much this place feels like home when we walk in. They know what we are going to order as soon as we walk in from our sparking water to our favorite 007 martini. Our waitress remembered that my hunny loves Chocolate so brought him the new chocolate / peanut butter dessert for his birthday! This is a must try!!!!"

  • "I thought the setting was shabby and maybe that was why they kept the lighting so low. One patron got a flashlight for his elderly mother. The menus were on white copy paper and showed much use. Each item's ingredient was highly descriptive, as if to justify the price. The food was good but the cost was too high for the atmosphere."

  • "My husband and I have been to Passion8 Bistro 5 or 6 times over the years, and we have always had wonderful experiences. Friday night, however, was a different story. Our calamari appetizer was incredibly tough and chewy. I ordered scallops for my entree, which have always been great there. I am not one to complain or ever send anything back, but I actually had to spit it out in my napkin. The scallops were ice cold, gritty, and literally tasted like dirty ocean water. We will not be dining as Passion8 Bistro again, nor will we be recommending it to anyone."

  • "One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. This was our first time at the bistro. From the time we walked in the door to the time we left. Our server Megan knew every aspect of the menu and was extremely pleasant. The presentation was unique and something I would compare to New York City dining. To top off the evening Chef Luca made an appearance at our table, I love running into him at the markets on Saturday. They are planning a big move to Elizabeth Avenue this Fall so you won't want to miss a chance of dining at this fort mill gem! We will be back!"

  • "My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Passion 8 Bistro and we both had the chef's tasting menu with wine. We had four courses, each of which were beautiful in their presentation and delightful in their taste. Ingredients were fresh and local. The wait staff took time to explain each course as they brought it. All in all, one of the best meals we have experienced in a long time! Passion 8 is a gem!"

  • "The food and presentation was very good. The ambience is too dark - they gave you a flashlight to read the menu. The table were spaced in such a way that the table next to us required the waitress to have her backside facing us while we ate. They are trying for a sleek Manhattan neighborhood restuarunt look and failing. They should embrace what they have and open the windows, put tables outside and focus on great local farm to table dishes."

  • "Awesome dinner but was disappointed by the dessert. "

  • "Restaurant was off the beaten path in a small house, but they will be moving to the Elizabeth area in the fall. Menu doesn't have many items, but the food is delicious. Most everything is local and the waitresses explain where the food comes from. Had a wonderful and positive experience. "

  • " warm welcome on entering. service was exemplary. I had the chicken entre and my wife had the ham entre. both were done perfectly. "

  • "This restaurants niche is fresh food carefully prepaed. All food is sorced back to the actual farm. Everything has a unique taste that blends incredibly. A little bit costly but we'll worth it. "

  • "Our Easter lunch was fantastic at Passion8. The special menu for that special day was a great choice. My wife and I chose separate dishes and shared every delectable bite. The champagne alone was excellent, so when prepared as a mimosa was also crisply refreshing. Even the French pressed coffee was a rich smooth treat. We understand that Passion8 is moving to Charlotte at the end of the summer. We'll continue to enjoy this respite from the profit-focused eateries and then follow them to downtown Elizabeth St area in the fall. Very special place, with strong social and quality commitment. Service and commitment to quality was obvious from first greeting to the coffee and biscotti. Can't wait to return again."

  • "We were a group of 8 and were well-accommodated; no complaints from anyone, only praise. The hospitality and service were commendable; BRAVO! The menu choice well-rounded; everything was fresh, well prepared, appealing in presentation and delicious (the wine and Bloody Mary's included). No disappointments."

  • "5 members of our family enjoyed a wonderful evening! Service was great! We each were very impressed with quality of the food including the presentation. We looking forward to out-door dining this Spring/Summer. Only hope the quality will remain when the restaurant moves in the Fall."

  • "Once we entered the restaurant we felt like inside a story book. The ambience was lovely. We felt that the waiters danced around the tables presenting a mix of wonderful colors and flavors. The salad was fantastic and the fresh fish extremely tasteful."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary by enjoying a romantic dinner at Passion8 Bistro! You would never know by driving by the outside of the building that a quaint restaurant was hidden inside! Food was great and the cocktail menu was very unique and delicious. We will definitely return to Passion8 Bistro."

  • "My wife and I have dined at Passion8 twice. The food is delectable, and their NY Strip is the best I've eaten. The cab/sav they are presently serving is phenomenally aromatic and smooth with a flavorful aftertaste. The ambience is sublime."

  • "Except for being seated right next to the door, everything about the experience was exceptional."

  • "My husband and I had been trying to get reservations for Passion8 for awhile but never made reservations early enough to get one during prime dinner hour (6-7pm). We were lucky to get one only a week ahead of the date, but have had difficulty finding an available reservation several weeks ahead at times. So definitely plan ahead. It was well worth the wait. The food was delicious. Our server was very attentive but not smothering. Our only complaint was the noise level was very high which made it hard to hear each other at times."

  • "Passion 8 Bistro is one of those gems that locals know about and has yet to hit the scene for the astute food connoisseur. Amazing daily menus and a well informed staff makes for a real treat as you can never be steered wrong in choosing a meal that right for you. The pork chop cooked to medium perfection was amazingly satisfying and the scallops were cooked and seasoned well. I expected a great meal and they did not fail."

  • "We heard of this place from our real estate agent who recommended it for special occasions (read: expensive) We went for our Valentine's Day celebration and were very pleaed with the entire experience. Great, ever-changing menu with lots of European touches (eg, fois gras, sweetbreads, etc.). They are allegedly moving to a new location in uptown Charlotte this spring so recommend getting to the Fort Mill location before they move out of town."

  • "The best restaurant in the Charlotte area. Changing menu with creative food combinations and taste that never disappoints. The staff is always friendly making this my number one go to place for a party of 1 or 10."

  • "I hadn't been to Passion8 in maybe a year and it used to be one of my favorites in the greater Charlotte area with their creative seasoal offerings based on regional products. Unfortunately I found that menu and creativity has stalled a bit, in my opinion. Food was still good but I was not wowed like earlier times."

  • "The food and service were fantastic. Our waiter was attentive and made great suggestions. He knew the menu well. The food exceeded my expectations. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the special snowy grouper was great."

  • "It has been a while since the wife and I have been here. I had the duck, which was very good, a little light on the portion but, very good. My wife ordered the New York strip medium, and it came out well done. The wait staff was very attentive and very friendly."

  • "I took my wife to dinner at Passion8 Bistro. It was the first time for both us. It was a wonderful experience! The food was delicious; the service was excellent! The wine was delicious! It was an experience that filled our senses in every way. The restaurant is a romantic getaway. We really enjoyed our night out!"

  • "Food was very good, but service less than expected. We were rushed to our table and then saw no wait staff for 10 - 15 minutes, even for water and to light our candle. Surprised, as this is a small restaurant. Overall good experience, but very pricey for what you get."

  • "Passion8 is a delight on many fronts. The food is gourmet at its finest, the wine list suits all pallets, and the service is top notch.I have been there on several occassions and it only gets better each time. This last time was made special by the assistance of Kaleila who helped make my proposal the perfect memory. If great food, wine, and ambiance are what you seek, this is your place. I will always return to this wonderful fine dining gem!"

  • "Went here during Queen's Feast. I believe the point for restaurants should be to offer food that will bring people back and I think they succeeded. Didn't have the beef cheek as listed but short rib was still great. Portions could be considered small but if you aren't used to 3 courses , were perfect for not feeling stuffed. Great flavors, presentation and unique concepts. A great place outside of uptown for high-end cuisine with a romantic/quaint setting."

  • "A group of 9 went during Restaurant Week, the food and service was excellent. Portions were smaller due to the special, but still tasty. I would not recommend going with a large group, 4 people max."
