Diner Reviews
  • "The fresh fish was excellent, duck was great. Blue cheese spread with pate was outstanding.. Set at the kitchen bar, sous chef recommended entrees and was entertaining."

  • "I have eaten here a couple of times for lunch/brunch. Always good but sometimes the noise level inside is too much."

  • "Have dined here four times and the menu has been different each time. Always with interesting offerings and great preparation."

  • "My first experience here was dinner and the service was horrible, mostly because of being constantly interrupted by the waitress. The food wasn't anything special that night either, especially for the prices. But this time I went for lunch and the experience was much better. I was treating my sister and friend to a birthday lunch, so we lingered and was pleasantly surprised that we weren't pushed to leave. I think lunch is a better time to go but will give dinner another try now."

  • "Passarelle Bistro is located right next to Liberty Bridge at Falls Park on the Reedy, so already it started great by being situated at one of Greenville's most beautiful and fun places! The food and the service were excellent and so was the atmosphere. The French music in the background was an added plus! Truly enjoyed a small taste of Paris in Greenville, South Carolina!"

  • "We have just moved to Greenville and have been trying all the restaurants within walking distance of our condo. So far Passerelle is definitely the best by a large margin. The service is friendly but not overbearing. The view definitely can't be beat. The food is gorgeous and very well presented. We have not earn inside the restaurant so cannot comment on that but the outside patio is lovely."

  • "Very noisy with lots of outside noise. Our server was awful. She called me sweetie three times. She was slow to take our order, had to be prompted to let us know about specials, and would disappear for long, long intervals. When my wife asked for bottled water and we both responded, she brought one small bottle and said they were out of large ones and "oh, did we want two". Before we were done eating she asked if we wanted dessert. After we ate, when we did ask for the dessert menu, she brought one. The food was only okay - not worth the cost at all. We will not be returning here and could never recommend it to anyone else."

  • "Passerelle has an interesting menu, an okay interior and stunning views from the terrace. I'd say the terrace is where all the ambience is. Having just returned from France, my husband and I were delighted to extend the experience by having lunch at Passerelle on a recent day trip to Greenville. He ordered the Croque Madame, which he had first had in France; I had a roast pork sandwich. The pork was a bit dry, but the bread and slaw were tasty. It came accompanied by a small salad of fresh greens and a light vinaigrette. The Croque Madame suited my husband just fine. The day was dripping rain, so we opted to eat indoors. Next time I hope we can dine al fresco, to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Reedy River."

  • "This is such a wonderful place to enjoy the energy of the Falls Park and Reedy River.. Food and service were excellent - especially on a Saturday night. My only request would be for a wider selection of small plates to share with table and a nice bottle of wine."

  • "We were seated on their outdoor patio, but it soon started to rain. They moved us inside to the Chef's Bar, where we sat watching the chefs prepare the main courses. We had such a good time! All the employees got along really well and they engaged us in conversation. The food was delicious, including a wonderful Lemon Pound Cake dessert. This was one time we were glad that rain chased us inside a restaurant."

  • "This was our fourth time at Passerelle--each has been great. This time we ate outside overlooking the falls and it was absolutely lovely! Our dinner was great--steak frites and lamb provencale--and fab dessert--lemon blueberry pound cake. A bit noisy inside but outside was lovely!"

  • "Thanks so much for making our first anniversary special."

  • "Everything we had for dinner, sitting on the lovely patio overlooking the waterfall park, was delicious. The goat cheese appetizer was perfect as was the beet and berry salad. The mussels had a broth that beckoned for soaking up with the crusty bread served alongside. Wine list very nice. Great food at very reasonable prices."

  • "A perfect spot for Sunday brunch with friends, sitting on the patio overlooking the falls. Very much like sitting in a bistro in France. The menu offered some typical dishes with a French twist but also offered unique and delicious brunch dishes. My favorite was the Tartine. Service was excellent as well."

  • "This was our second visit to Passerelle and we were definitely not disappointed. The selections are creative, unusual, well prepared an quite delightful. I would recommend Passerelle to anyone who enjoys a dining experience out of the mainstream in Greenville."

  • " The menu on the website looked good, and I was looking forward to good french style food. The first slight problem was the cork in the wine bottle was dry and broke off, still in the bottle. The waiter finally got it out, but the white wine we ordered wasn't very chilled. The escargot was in a lemon cream sauce, which is not usually how it's served. The salmon was bland, and my lamb was fair. Generally the dinner was fair, but was not up to the quality that was expected for the prices charged."

  • "We joined some friends at Passerelle before a show. The menu was small but very nice, enjoyed some mussels, champagne and other appetizers on a beautiful night in one of Greenville's most wonderful park settings. Service was good, food was very nice."

  • "I am from Charleston, where there are so many great restaurants. Passerelle's food was awesome, plus the prices were very reasonable. Salads were fresh with delicious ingredients, and the mains were excellent, excellent, excellent. Service was the best - from the host to the server to the chef who came out during the meal to be sure everything was ok! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!"

  • "We gave been here numerous times and the food is pretty good. My burger was good and the wife's omelet was fine. But the service this time was horrible. The small waiter with no hair (sorry, I cannot remember his name) and thin beard is just pathetic. I has to ask 4 times for a drink for my daughter, get up and refill my own drinks, and go ask the hostess for the bill. "

  • "Had pre theatre dinner on 5/24/2014 with my wife, sat inside which wasn't our first choice but it was real nice anyway. Service was prompt and attentive and the menu although small had enough choices. The mussels were great so was the salmon croquettes and the baked goat cheese. I would definitely go there again."

  • "Food was excellent, waiter was good. The table was terrible. Pre-theatre reservations were made when we got there we were notified there wasn't anything indoors ( Husband was wearing a suit)which was exasperating as we had not requested outside seating. We were then asked if we were -pre-theatre , we said yes, and then we were then seated inside. The table was next to the hostess stand, and my husbands chair was hit EVERY time a wait staff person walked by. The aisle between the well and where the staff goes out to serve the patio is MUCH too narrow and it was very uncomfortable. When you think of French Bistro you think intimate and romantic, hopefully this isn't the atmosphere you are going for here, because it isn't. "

  • "Arrived at 1pm, time of our reservation. Table not ready yet. Offered table right inside entry. Opted for outdoors which was a good choice as inside appeared noisy and too crowded. Overall, experience was very good, however even though I realize plate charges are the "norm", we had not asked for separate plates; (had told server we would "share the chix salad sand" and when delivered, we were told "I went ahead and put this on separate plates for you) and after spending $30+ on a bottle of wine, plus small plates, I was offended by the $2 charge that appeared on our check. Birthday card signed by staff was a nice touch. Food a little pricey but worthwhile for the quality and flavor. "

  • "I will start by saying that the food was tasty, well prepared and presented. The goat cheese tart was outstanding! The dessert menu could use a little more punch. My reasons for not giving Passerelle Bistro 5 stars, however, have little to do with the food, and more to do with the atmosphere and table arrangement. We arrived on time for our reservation (which we had made over 2 months ago), and yet we were still given one of the worst spots in the restaurant. It was right by the front door, and guests hovered around our table with no consideration at all for our space. The 3 tables next to us remained open for our entire dinner, so I do not see why we were given the spot that we were. "

  • "Was able to park nearby and walk to both Passerelle Bistro and the Peace Center for Phantom of the Opera. Upon arriving, we were immediately seated by the hostess on the outside covered terrace and our waiter appeared very soon. We chose to order a delightful Riesling to accompany the small plates we ordered. Do not miss the goat cheese appetizer! The blending of flavors produced a wonderful experience for our palettes. The salmon croquettes were done to perfection with the horseradish sauce on the side adding an enjoyable "zing." The trout soup was tasty and the asparagus salad did not disappoint. It was a great launch into a romantic evening of food and the theatre. My wife and I would highly recommend it and will be back!"

  • "Ambiance very nice outside. Wait staff very good. Food good but not outstanding for price. Bread not up to par for French restaurant. Would go again but only for special occasion and would not pay $4 for bread."

  • "The food was excellent especially the trout, and our server; Bodie, was very attentive and offered several suggestions from drink to dessert which all proved great! I definitely will return."

  • "Passerelle is a fabulous addition to Greenville. The food is outstanding...Chef Teryi is always creating fresh, seasonal cuisine that is sure to please! The service is outstanding with friendly, knowledgable and attentive staff. The wine selection is great...... Perfect scenic spot for brunch, lunch or simply a glass of wine to soak in the views."

  • "Loved the menu! Very interesting choices and everything we had had great flavor. Really enjoyed our evening. And dress code is pretty much anything goes. Very casual dress from people just walking by, but we were more dressy and didn't feel out of place. Only downside is that chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Can't sit back, because you actually slide forward off front of seat! So have to lean forward and becomes very uncomfortable. Noticed all patrons were "perched" on their chairs! Sat inside, so hoping outside seating has better chairs, as we want to go back!"
