Locally owned and operated, we at Pasión strive to use natural, locally grown meats, fruits, vegetables, as well as fresh, flown-in seafood whenever possible.

  • "My sister from the East coast saw the restaurant on "Restaurant Impossible" and when she came to visit last week, we planned to have dinner there. Our waiter was excellent and let us know some of his favorite dishes. There were three of us and we shared the tapas and ordered their fish tacos as our main course. Every dish we had was excellent, and although the restaurant was hosting a very large party, our food was brought to us hot and right from the kitchen. As stuffed as we were, we had to try the the chocolate bread pudding cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. This totally satiated us. We had a great experience and will go back and try many more of the tapas they offer."

  • "I was recommended Pasion Latin Fusion by my parents who had dined here previously. I didn't know what to expect from the location and exterior. I was however not disappointed. The location is not very good, located away from downtown and old town Albuquerque and the building it something of a fixer upper making it to be likely the last place you'd expect to go, but the food is delicious and unexpected. You have the choice of tapas or full plates. The place is reasonably priced and definitely someplace I'd recommend to others especially if you like plantains."

  • "We went since we enjoyed previous experiences. However, the food, the Cubano Libre, was extremely greasy. It slipped out of my hands. After several attempts, I had to use knife and fork. The inside tasted greasy. My wife's fish dish was okay. She did not mention particular reasons. After this visit, we will definitely reconsider patronizing it."

  • "Albuquerque doesn't have too many Latin food options besides Mexican. Pasion Latin Fusion has all the classic foods from across Latin America with a nouveau twist. Great staff and ambiance made for a nice dinner with my father-in-law. I'm not sure if it was just what we ordered or the whole menu, but my only delta is most of what we ordered was fried and a little too greasy."

  • "Visiting Albuquerque, we decided to eat at Pasion because I had seen it on Restaurant Impossible and followed the reviews. We were very impressed with the originality of the dishes and the intensity of flavors. We started with bacon wrapped plantain and goat cheese empanadas. The empanadas were the perfect texture and were accompanied by a relish-like pepper condiment, good combo. The contrast between the plantain and the bacon worked well. I had the ceviche - Wow! A spicy, beautifully seasoned dish. My husband had the Caribbean chicken with mashed sweet plantain; excellent. All in all, we were very happy with our meal and would go again."

  • "The shredded beef taco's were very good, as were the empanada's and seafood appetizers. The meat & cheese & Olive appetizer was not worth ordering. The quesadilla was greasy and the margarita's were too sour. Had to flag down our waiter who preferred to chit-chat at the front door instead of taking our order. The restaurant was not crowded at all on a Saturday night - which could have allowed our waiter to give good service which he did not do. Gave the guitarist a big tip & asked him to keep playing - then he quit after one more song. "

  • "Second time we have been here. Had the entrees this time...fish tacos delicious and the hamburger was enormous as well as tasty. I prefer to order many appetizers and share, but these were all good and I would order them again. Just a fun, reasonable, and tasty place to dine. I wish it was a little less noisy, but that won't stop us from coming back."

  • "I've been to Pasion several times since I discovered it just a few months back. Elvis Bencomo (chef), is a real talent, and at only 26 years old, promises only to get better. The food is beautifully done, with modern twists on classic Latin foods. The Croque Senortita is one of my personal favorites."

  • "I had eaten at Pasion prior to the Restaurant Impossible makeover and the food was wonderful back then but now the menu is smaller--but that is a good thing since a larger menu can be overwhelming. Also, our waiter was very knowledgeable of the food and was very attentive and friendly. Every item we ordered was absolutely delicious and very fresh! Will definitely be going back again! The new look of the restaurant now matches the food!"

  • "I have been a fan of Elvis and Monica's Passion Latin Fusion for the past two years. I've seen his menu and approach change with the arrival of Food Network's "Restaurant Impossible" visit. PLF was never "impossible" and was always quite good. While there was previously more of an emphasis on entrees, now it is on tapas. Both approaches were excellent and inventive. Elvis's ability to feed a full restaurant with many varied tapas in a short period of time is remarkable. My table enjoyed his Ensalada de Casa, marvelous gambodigas, superb empanadas, beautiful fried artichokes, THE BEST corn on the cob ever, and his signature fish tacos. He makes a great white sangria. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed on a busy night, but nice."

  • "This is a fantastic little local gem of a place. The food is fantastic, a great accomplishment considering the chef is in his mid 20's. I've been there now 3 times and have not had a bad, or even mediocre meal there yet. Prices are reasonable as are portions. The menu is split into Bocaditos or "small plates" and Principales or "main" courses. If you order the Bocaditos, 2 will easily feed one person. If you order the Principales, you'll be taking food home for the next day. Regardless of how you choose to go, you will be very well pleased."

  • "Went on a Tuesday right when they open for dinner. It was a great time to go because there was like two other tables being occupied. Fast service and amazing food! Definitely worth trying! We ordered three appetizers, three entrees, two desserts and the passion fruit with wine. Sounds like we ordered a lot of food but the portions are kind of small and we shared everything. $115 well spent."

  • "We have dinner with my parents a couple times a month and this time I wanted to try something new, I was interested in this place after seeing it on Restaurant Impossible. The restaurant was clean and looked nice but the woman who greeted us at the door immediately told us that service would be slow because they were expecting a 14 top table, so our 1st impression was that we weren't welcome. The service was in fact very slow. The flavor of the food was amazing however we all ordered dishes that had pork, I couldn't even chew through some of my meat and barely finished half my plate. Every dish was way over cooked and way too dry. The dishes had potential to be wonderful but the execution was terrible. "

  • "We have been here twice in recent months, both times discovering new tastes and enjoying favorite ones. The first visit, we stayed mostly with the entrees, which were very tasty, enormous, and just different enough from the mainstream to be memorable. Our most recent trip, we were a group of seven, two of whom are 3-year-olds. It's a very kid-friendly environment, with tatami mats to cushion the concrete subfloor, and a basic but serviceable kids menu. It's faster to get the small plates than the entrees, as we discovered. Everything is prepared at the moment it is ordered, so it all tastes wonderfully fresh and at the proper temperature. We enjoyed all the small plates, though the duck taquitos were a bit on the dry side. Try the ceviche!"

  • "Our experience at Pasion Latin Fusion was just ok. The service was ok, the menu selections are pretty limited. We chose the Caribbean Chicken which was seasoned really well - very tasty - but had bones and was messy/challenging to eat gracefully. We had bacon wrapped plantains as an appetizer and they were very good. The place was well attended the night we were there - it seemed from the parking lot that there might be some kind of event happening. No event - just well attended. Wine selections are extremely limited although the red sangria was tasty. Overall experience was mediocre and I'm not convinced we will return."

  • "They did all I asked in setting the mood and making a perfect night go off without a hitch! I live in NC and was worried about everything correct in how I needed it set up. I arrived in NM and could not call to confirm in front of my date. Showed up 30 mins early and yet in still, they were ready! The service was great and the date went PERFECT! Didn't even know that would have live music that night... A++++. Would love to eat there on the regular if I lived there. There was a father and his 6-7 yr old, both nicely dressed, enjoying a great meal- having just as much fun as we were, so yes- VERY kid friendly!"

  • "I discovered this small Latin "fusion" restaurant on UrbanSpoon. I was in Albuquerque at a conference, and alone for the night. It was not crowded, but the service was great, and I felt welcomed and not self-conscious about eating alone. Good salad, wonderful oysters, interesting Jalapeno margarita!"

  • "My husband and I wanted to have lunch together on Valentine's Day. This was near our daughter's school so we thought we could grab a bite before going to her Valentine's Day party. THe Empanadas were great. We split the Caribbean Chicken which was nicely roasted and surprisingly tasty with the bacon bits. For dessert, we split the Pasion Platain Cake, which was delicious served cold. Think banana cake... We plan to return. Our server was absolutely the best. Can't remember her name right now. But she worked at Capos on Central for many years."

  • "a party of 4-we ordered 6 plates of bocadillos plus wine and water. The first plate came before the drinks. The drinks finally came but no water which we requested. We asked the server, manager and another server for water. After we were almost done with 5 of the 6 plates, the water was served. The server kept asking us how w were doing and we kept telling her we still didn't have our last plate. After sitting about 15 minutes, again with her asking how we were doing, we cancelled the last plate. Food was good but not sure if we'll go back due to service"

  • "The restaurant has a new menu which I did not care for very much. Lot's of small plates add up to one huge bill. I do not think that I will be returning to this establishment anytime soon. Also, I had asked several times to speak with the owner and he kept blowing me off. That is not a good sign of a business owner that cares."

  • "The food was delicious with very creative blends of flavors. The plantain crusted fish tacos gave the fish a sweet taste and then the pickled cabbage gave the entree a tangy flavor. Perfect blend of flavors. The co-owner waited on us and gave very detailed explanations of each entree which I needed due to my weird food allergies. Much appreciated."
