Diner Reviews
  • "Very good Turkish fare in a relaxed setting, with good service, at very reasonable prices. Hard to ask for more."

  • "Terrific for pre-concert, but also a wonderful treat for out of town friends."

  • "The food was well presented but most importantly, was well cooked and seasoned. All the plates we ordered, and we were four of us with different taste, were delicious and a pleasure for the palate. We also enjoyed the calming ambience of the restaurant and the homy decor."

  • "Pasha is a reliable UWS place for good Turkish food. The appetizers are excellent, especially the eggplant. One could easily order a raft of appetizers and the apricots for dessert and would make you a satisfied diner. However, I was troubled when I arrived for an early dinner with a friend. We, both women, were seated in the unattractive, bleak side room when the lovely dining room was nearly empty. We requested the main dining room and were re-seated there. When we left the restaurant, I peeked into the side room and was not surprised to see that it was full of tables populated by women - so one wonders, why is this happening? Is there an undercurrent of misogyny in the management which sees fit to seat its women customers in Siberia?"

  • "Dined there before a Lincoln Center performance. The pr/fx offered a sufficient variety of delectable items. This was our first time there but we will be sure to return."

  • "Always enjoy dining here. In fact I have been there at least five times since January. Food is good, prices reasonable. Restaurant is spacious. One issue or annoyance is that this time we were still eating (people don't eat anyone, they enjoy) our appetizer/starter, when the servers came by with our main courses and proceeded to squeeze everything on the table even though we were not ready and while we we still eating. The table was crammed, making it difficult to negotiate the table. We finally had the servers pull another table over and we put the "overflow" there. This timing issues seems to happen frequently in NYC….one feels like one is being rushed."

  • "Always reliable with very tasty food. Prize fixe is a great deal. Vegetarian option delicious. Baklava highly recommended."

  • "Kemal and his team are great. We have eaten inside, on the patio and had them cater an event. The lamb patties are outrageously delicious. The dumplings are great. I love the apricots for desert. The turkish wines all wonderful. We will continue to come back."

  • "Service was attentive and prompt, the Prix fixe menu was a great value, and the food was full of flavor. The bread is the best I have ever had."

  • "This visit we really tested the Pasha staff to show us a good dining experience. Because of enormous traffic delays at the tunnel crossing, we arrived with only 40 minutes to enjoy dinner before having to leave for our Lincoln Center opera performance. We advised the staff of this situation when we arrived and asked them if they could pace the meal to achieve that goal. We selected favorites from the pre-fixe 3 course menu, a bargain in itself, and nice Turkish wine. The staff and kitchen shined. The goal was achieved, and never did we feel rushed! The dishes were each exceptional with rich flavors, and are difficult and time consuming for anyone inclined to try to prepare them at home. Well done, Pasha!"

  • "This restaurant has a good reputation though a little above the price range I usually pay, so I was disappointed that the food was good but not better than other Turkish restaurants that are less pricey in the neighborhood. More seriously, the waiter got my order completely wrong -- he brought me the same entree as my friends, though I'd ordered a different one -- and then gave me the choice of waiting for the correct one while my friends ate, or eating the wrong one which he'd already brought back to the kitchen. I chose the latter and he brought back the dish, a stuffed chicken breast, now lukewarm. NO ONE, waiter or manager, offered to compensate me until I insisted on a complimentary glass of wine. That's disgraceful."

  • "I had been here twice before and had better food. Just not that good this time"

  • "We had attentive survice and good food with hummus, and lentil soup entre's . I had the stuffed chicken breast and others had the chicken en brochette. The Pri Fixe menu was a great deal for New York City. We would definitely to again and again."

  • "We were a group of friends meeting for dinner and enjoyed our evening at Pasha. The service and food were both very good. Authentic flavors and tastes, and the food was very fresh! Would recommend to a friend, and will return there myself."

  • "We've been to this place a number of times over the years, and always had the same delightful experience whether pre-theatre or just special occasion family dining. Traffic through the tunnels made us about 30 min late for our reservation, so we called, and they no problem. When our waiter came, we asked him to ensure the cadence was set so we could finish within an hour, and that we'd choose from the pre-fixe menu. He wonderfully achieved that without us feeling any rush. The setting is pleasant. The food is excellent, and you feel like you've been transported into a different culture. Everything has unique flavors and beautiful presentation, and portions are generous but not gargantuan. Dinner for two is under $100 with wine."

  • "Service was impeccable, seating commodious, food plentiful, presented well, fresh and very tasty. If you can manage the dinner prix fixe, there are multiple choices for each of the three courses, including authentic Turkish delicacies and assorted teas and coffee. Since we share, we enjoyed many taste sensations including lamb, seafood, and all vegetarian. Water goblets were filled without asking, olive oil came with Greek olives, and even the pita was great! Pasha is a great way to launch a Lincoln Center evening...or to put you in a favorable mood for anything else."

  • "Pasha is a good but uneven restaurant. Excellent service. But the food can be great or it can be not so good. Most times it has been great."

  • "This is a very pleasant place to dine. The service is polite and attentive and the Turkish specialities are fresh and delicious. The price is moderate and the overall experience is a positive one."

  • "I had screwed up my timing and made a 6:15 reservation for a night when I had a 7:30 curtain at Lincoln Center. (I had assumed the concert began at 8, when the NY Phil usually plays on Saturday night, but a last minute check of my tickets showed 7:30.) When I arrived, I informed the staff about the need for expedited service, and they responded beautifully. My concert companion for the evening and I had a wonderful feast and got to our concert on time. Their flexibility on this was terrific, and I am never let down by the food at Pasha, which is a favorite place for a special dinner in the neighborhood."

  • "This resturant was an excellent combination of fine dining and matching ambience. The Turkish food was exquisite and the staff were professional and helpful. The setting was absolutely gorgeous."

  • "Pasha, which slumped a bit in the past couple of years, seems back in the lead again among Turkish restaurants in Manhattan. The large main dining room is very comfortable to sit in, not packed with tables like some other places, with dependably good food and some really good standouts among the appetizers, like their lentil soup and their version of Imam Bayildi."

  • "This restaurant used to have good food and good service. Well, nothing lasts forever."

  • "Have been to Pasha a few times. Always a good experience. Turkish food with a twist is the best way to describe it. They have a pre fix dinner from 5-7 (pre theatre). Fun for groups bc the appetizers are fantastic and good for sharing. The ambiance is average- I think the dining room can use a little renovation or maybe more of an authentic Turkish feel would give it more of a wow factor. But we come here for a great satisfying meal. definitely worth trying out."

  • "My parents were visiting from out of town, and we ate dinner here before the symphony. They come from a town with little restaurant diversity and they loved it. I thought it was pretty good. It was convenient and easy. I would eat here again."

  • "My wife and I eat here regularly. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. This most recent visit I brought a colleague who was visiting from California and we had a business dinner. We ate early and, to my delight, qualified for the early bird prix fixe, which has all of my favorite dishes - the Coban salad and the Yogurtlu Kebab. We started with a glass of traditional Raki. Delicious and moderately priced."

  • "Love the food at Pasha. We arrived almost 15 minutes late for our reservation but only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated & this on a busy Saturday evening. Started with the Shepard salad with feta, and then had the octopus salad as my main course. Also tried a special yogurt mint dish that made a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. My dining partner had the chicken breast stuffed with rice, pistachio and currants which looked and smelled wonderful. She said it was great and took home half the dish for dinner later in week. Service is good, the bread is wonderful."

  • "Went there for the prix-fixe menu from 5-7 PM. Excellent service and delicious food. The three courses were certainly a great value. Highly recommend the experience."

  • "I like eating in the small room at the front of the restaurant. Octopus salad is exceptional. Close to Lincoln Center which makes it handy if you are seeing a performance"

  • "No turkey at this Lincoln Center Turkish, but really good lamb, chicken and veggie dishes, especially imam bayaldi (eggplant, et. al. appetizer) and etli yaprak sarmosa (lamb stuffed grape leaves with mint yogurt)."

  • "The food was good. The service was attentive and prompt. A good choice for dining before Lincoln Center events, especially if you enjoy Turkish cuisine."
    Dined on 10/28/2013
  • "The value is terrific here. First, it is quiet, and the ambiance is wonderful - carpeting, soft lighting & a feeling of warmth. The service is very efficient - almost too quick. The food is ample and tasty although the salmon is a bit overcooked. The apricot desert is outstanding. I will certainly go back and have already recommended it to friends."

  • "In an area where it's easy to spend a lot a get a little, Pasha stands out with a combination of ambience, cuisine, warm welcome, and reasonable prices. Its prix fixe menu, available from 5 to 7, offers a selection of interesting and well-prepared dishes. Pick your table well and you'll have no trouble having a conversation. Definitely recommended,"

  • "We have always enjoyed this restaurant, which is inviting and comfortable. There are a very limited number of tables outside, but it is very pleasant in good weather, since it is quiet on the side street. Service is always attentive and cordial. The large chopped salad is generous when divided in half and refreshing. The fish on special was tasty but the chicken, which is usually good, was a bit dry. The atmosphere is appealing and colorful and the tables are spaced enough so that conversation is possible. Prices are reasonable for Manhattan."
