A word from Pascal's Manale
Founded in 1913, this family-run, Italian-Creole restaurant is located in uptown New Orleans. It is famous for creating barbecued shrimp.

This neighborhood restaurant is vintage New Orleans, from the service to the decor. The oyster bar always manned by a friendly shucker. The oysters are fresh, salty and delicious.

The old time oyster bar and cocktail bar offers raw oysters on the half shell and all types of cocktails. We offer fine seafood, Italian specialties and delicious steaks.

  • "This was possibly my worst experience in a New Orleans restaurant from what the kitchen produced and the management when confronted with problems. Apparently management could care less because they were doing business, but I was not a tourist and had brought national business representatives to dine. I apologized to my visitors profusely and said next time in we will dine at a restaurant that does not live off of one item for their reputation. This is not a new restaurant which makes my review even more critical."

  • "The last time I had a meal at Pascal's Manale was 30 years ago. I remember eating the best seafood dish I had ever had, BBQ Shrimp, a recipe created at Pascal's. My son and I were in New Orleans over the weekend and had dinner at Pascal's Monday night. The BBQ Shrimp was even better than I remembered. Great food, service and ambience! In my opinion, this is one of the best meals in America!"

  • "Reservations ready when we arrived. Pan Roast Combination was the best!! Drinks were crisp and clean, the way I like them. Waitor was pleasant and helpful. Ambience better than anticipated. Bar was cozy, lively, welcoming. Have had better oysters rockerfeller. Overall, it was well worth the drive from Baton Rouge and can't wait to return."

  • "I was there with my sisters and mother. All our food was wonderful! I had the bbq shrimp which they are known for. They were amazing!! Very messy but well worth it. They give you a bib which you do need. I would highly recommend this restaurant. My one sister does not like seafood but she found a wonderful filet on the menu which she said was outstanding. If I had a complaint, it would only be that it was a bit loud in the room and hard to talk at our table. Service and food made up for that and would go back on my next visit to New Orleans."

  • "Its been a few years since the last visit and will be many more before the next. First the restaurant did not honor its reservation time, and let freinds and locals without reservations take preferential seating delaying our reservation by over 45 minutes. That was anoying but we had a nice time at the bar waiting. The food was a great dissapointment. The signature dish, BBQ shrimp portions were half the size as they used to be and twice as expensive. Worse, many shrimp were small crumbly and soft. They were all swimming in butter. I remember when they were fresh, succulent and had a flavorful brown sauce. Sadly these days are over."

  • "My husband and I had been to this restaurant 20 years ago and remembered it fondly. Went out of our way to return when we were in town to have some of the BBQ shrimp we had enjoyed in the past. The shrimp were huge and cooked well, but the sauce was way too buttery with very little seasoning coming through.....so disappointing. Appetizers and fettuccine alfredo with crab cake dishes that our daughters ordered were also disappointing. Would not go back."

  • "We began with bloody Mary's and oysters on the half shell. I liked mixing just the right amount of horseradish in the catsup for my liking. Three out of four of us ordered BBQ shrimp. It was a large serving & I greatly appreciated the bibs! It was delicious! The other meal was the crab stuffed shrimp. I was surprised when it arrived breaded & fried but it too was very good & very rich. We did not leave any room for dessert. My only negative comment us that the bloody Mary's were in a small glass - seems most places serve them in a pint glass. Other than that, our meal was wonderful!"

It is located in the Garden District a couple of blocks off of St. Charles. 15 min by cab it I highly recommend hopping "Desire" on the St. Charles st. car line to Napoleon Ave. The staff here was courteous and friendly. They seated us in a very comfortable private room which was great because we could converse freely without having to shout and also without disturbing other diners. The food was excellent. Italian food with Cajun flare. They are celebrating 100 years in business this year and the place is an institution in the GD. The price/quality relationship is very high. In the FQ you would pay double what we paid at Pascal's Manale. Highly recommended."

Set in a quiet neighborhood, near the St. Charles Street Car, this 100 year old restaurant is the place to visit if you can only visit 1 restaurant in NOLA. The BBQ shrimp, is the original, heads and tails on, truly local food and absolutely delicious. The raw oyster bar has the best in New Orleans, and the atmosphere is unpretentious. Whether you are slurping down a raw oyster, elbow deep in bbq shrimp, or eating one of the traditional italian pasta dishes, no one is judging your table manners. Regular patrons, special occasion dinners, and tourists mingle in this unsophisticated first rate establishment."

  • "We had not been to Pascal Manale's in over 20 years and were looking forward to returning. We started with raw, Bienville and Rockefeller. The entire combo was awesome and the oysters were really nice sized. We also got the Combination Pan Roast as an entrée which was awesome. However, the BBQ Shrimp which what they're known for left something to be desired. It was shrimp floating in olive oil. I'd skip that and try BBQ Shrimp at Liuzza's By The Track. Bon Appetit!"

Families, business people, and friends can be heard laughing and chatting at a level that gives Pascal's Manales a nice ambience. Restaurants that are library quiet are too uptight for me. This is my second visit here and it won't be the last. The prices are reasonable and an adjacent parking lot and side street parking are available. Enjoy!"

  • "Been going to Pascal's for over 30 years and enjoying the food. This was a special occasion and we had a party of 5 so made reservations well in advance for lunch. When we arrived we were ignored for 10 minutes and once acknowledged waited another 10 minutes before being seated in a half full restaurant. The Maître di was very rude and left us with the impression he was doing us a favor to seat us. We came very close to walking out, as there are so many other good restaurants in NOLA. After being seated, the service was excellent and food met or exceeded expectations. The ravioli was outstanding! Off street parking is welcome, bartender very good and friendly."
