Reliable. Lovely prix-fixe
lunch. A bit of Parisian "attitude" at times. Very crowded at lunch and dinner. Excellent duck confit . Usually pleasant experience. Tiny, cramped dining room at street level. Low ceiling small dining room up stairs."

The menu is always delicious and
varied. The staff is welcoming. We eat here whenever we don't want to cook at home."

Pascalou had some great food
options for a Sunday brunch. The service was fine, but the real issue came when I tried to use a restaurant.com coupon. I noted in my opentable reservation ahead of time that I would be using it, but then received an odd voicemail telling me that I could not combine it with the Prix Fixe Brunch options, since it was a "promotion" and the coupon said that it cannot be combined with a promotion. In my mind, Prix Fixe is not a promotion and I thought it was a little shady of them to try and pass it off as one. The table next to us encountered the same issues with coupon + promotion and eventually the mgmt agreed to apply it, but it will really make me think twice about eating there again. A little awkward to argue."

Pascalou is a favorite for it's
wonderful service, good menu, wine list and cocktails."
Dined on 6/15/2014
The waitress had an attitude and
gave us poor service."
Dined on 6/17/2014
This is our fourth time eating at
the Robert and not once have we been able to sit at a window. I asked how long in advance must I call to make a reservation and sit at a window and the reply was at least one month."
Dined on 6/14/2014
Small, tight and delightful. A
neighbor treasure that consistently delivers a wonderful meal. You can go for dinner every day for a week, have something different time, and enjoy every meal."
Dined on 6/10/2014
The food is delicious and well
priced. Go!! It is a lovely lunch or dinner spot. Always busy."
Dined on 6/9/2014
I am never disappointed at
Pascalou. The food is always excellent. The service could be a little better, but in general it is always an excellent choice."
Dined on 6/4/2014
I've had lunch here from time to
time over the years and I always like it. I always order the same thing and it's always prepared well."
Dined on 5/29/2014
Reliable Upper East Side French
restaurant has been in the neighborhood for years and always ddliv era good food and service in a relatively quiet atmosphere."
Dined on 5/26/2014
An absolute gem. The menu is
enormous for such a small place, the prices are reasonable and the food is well prepared and well presented. I have eaten there several times and each time is better than the last, if that's possible. Highly recommend it of you are in the neighborhood."
Dined on 5/23/2014
I had hoped to discover a "
neighborhood gem", but instead just found a place to eat. Nothing special, although not terrible. Our dinners were fair - I ordered veal "Milanese" which I was surprised to see came as a scaloppine cut instead of one big flattened chop. The sauce was tasty but the meat was was about 50% fat. My husband said his steak seemed like an inferior cut as well. On the positive side, the service was good and very quick."

We started going to Pascalou about
20 years ago. It has gotten better over the years with An expanded menu. The pre fixe menu is a great value. "
Dined on 5/17/2014
This is our go to reataurant. We
are never disappointed. Great prices, great variety, perfect!"
Dined on 5/19/2014
Great neighborhood restaurant with
wonderful service. Varied selection on menu which would please anyone."
Dined on 5/15/2014
I have eaten here many times, both
for lunch and dinner. Over the years the menu has become more and more interesting. The service is attentive and friendly and the food is always superb."
Dined on 5/16/2014
We were attending an event in the
neighborhood and found Pascalou quite by accident on Open Table. What a wonderful surprise! The food was inventive and excellent. And the prices are most reasonable. This is clearly a neighborhood place with a strong local following. No wonder! Almost made us wish we lived closer to Carnegie Hill. Highly recommended!"
Dined on 5/13/2014
The tall, skinny guy who seems to
be the owner is not very nice to the customer. He doesn't like it when we take pictures in the restaurant. He seams to be discriminating Asian, especially when he chat with every table except us. Food was okay, the duck the only dish that we think is good and very true french dish."
Dined on 5/11/2014
Always a pleasure with very good
food presented enticingly. The prix fixe is great, but the regular menu is delightful. Its only drawback is its size…tables are close together. However, I am a repeat diner and will continue to be."
Dined on 5/8/2014
The menu is always superb and the
specials keep it interesting so we eat there're at least once a week. "
Dined on 5/10/2014
Cute little bistro--very small. A
little noisy. Best table is by the window. Food was good. If you need to be near Mt. Sinai, this is a nice place to have lunch."
Dined on 5/9/2014
Pascalou is our go-to lunch
destination whenever we visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This is one of the few places within walking distance of the museum where you can have a reasonably priced three course lunch. The soups are excellent and change with the seasons. There's a choice of entrees and a couple of dessert choices. The ground floor room is small and tables are close so it tends to be noisy. There is another dining room on the second floor. Service is friendly and it is a popular place so reservations are recommended."
Dined on 5/2/2014
We eat here 1 to 3 times a week,
because it is wonderful in every way. "
Dined on 4/27/2014
Pascalou is definitely a
neighborhood gem, but its shine goes far beyond the 'hood. The food is prepared to a quality level that far surpasses the typical eatery. The short ribs are clearly slow-cooked and the fish is fresh and paired with fresh, not frozen vegetables. Add to this their great wine selection and you have a real jewel."
Dined on 4/25/2014
I've lived in Carnegie Hill for
over 20 years and have never encountered such rude service in our charming neighborhood. The food is very good but this is true every other restaurant on the stretch of Madison. "
Dined on 4/27/2014
Handy to Museum Mile and just
right menu and atmosphere for lunch."
Dined on 4/14/2014
We eat here at least once a week
because the food and service are fabulous. It's an adorable place and it's reasonably priced. "
Dined on 4/21/2014
Pascalou is our favorite go-to
restaurant on the Upper East Side. The food is aways delicious. This is the place to go when we go to the Met, the Conservancy Garden in Central Park, and a few other small museums on the East Side."
Dined on 4/20/2014
We were a group of 8...we had a
quiet spot upstairs. The food was good...prix fixe...a great value for the price."
Dined on 4/18/2014
I had lunch with a friend there
today. The goat cheese salad was spectacular. We ended with the raspberry ice cream cake which was simply put amazing! The service was very attentive but not overbearing, and our waiter made the whole experience really fun which just made my day. And of course great cappuccino ! Will be coming back for sure. :)"
Dined on 4/17/2014
We thought we were going to a
French bistro but you would not know that when viewing the menu. It seemed to have something from every region; Thai, Italian etc. the quality of the food was mediocre. The service was adequate but our server was brusque and not helpful about explains the menu selections."
Dined on 4/4/2014
Small neighborhood place. Very
good service and good prices for menu of the day. Plenty of variety, from salads to soup to more hearty fare for lunch. Staff clearly knew many of the guests and were accommodating. Small upstairs dining room but main floor was sunny and very pleasant. Short stroll 10 blocks from Mt Sinai Medical Center."

Always wonderful, convenient if
you live on the UES..."

Our host, Martin, set the tone
from the moment we walked in 32 minutes early. We waited patiently for guests to leave their (our table) and settled in for the night. Every item we ate (I had the skate, my husband had the veal sweetbreads) was done perfectly. Our salads and desserts were also heavenly. The restaurant is a short walk from the Met, and will be our go-to place anytime we are on the upper east side. I had been there a number of times with friends and colleagues, but the company of my husband really made it feel like a romantic Parisian restaurant. Merci, Martin!"
Dined on 3/21/2014
I have dined at Pascalou many
times. It is uneven. It is a tiny bistro, reasonably priced and appealing in its traditional look. It sometimes achieves wonderful things. When the service and food are at their best, it warrants a near rave; at the bottom a rant. On my last visit, I'm sad to suggest an "eh". (That is not the Canadian interrogatory "eh"; that is the New York declining "eh".) Nonetheless, I will be back again hoping for better."
Dined on 3/15/2014
I had eaten here maybe a year or
two before and I had forgotten how lovely Pascalou is. It's a little bit of Paris. Great by the glass wine selection at very reasonable prices. Had the short ribs--delicious!! Wonderful coconut sorbet. Special but very comfortable and unpretentious. I'll go back, and it won't take me a year this time."
Dined on 3/15/2014
Pescalou had been recommended to
me a while ago. I was very anxious to try it. The restuarant was very packed downstairs so we were seated upstairs which was not a problem except for the fact that it was very warm. Even by the time we finished dinner it was still warm. Space was very tight. The waiter seemed bored and was not particularly friendly. Food was very average and was not what I would have expected for a French Bistro. I had ordered the Caesar salad which had so little dressing on it, that I don't know why they bothered and I usually like very little dressing. The bar-b-queed short ribs were just OK. One of my guests had the chicken and he was not impressed either. Overall, neither my guests or I were "wowed" with this restaurant."
Dined on 3/13/2014
We've eaten here before, both
upstairs & downstairs. Downstairs is crowded & noisy, but if you want to enjoy a quiet leisurely dinner, eat upstairs. Service was fine as well as the food. We would definitely return."
Dined on 3/6/2014
The menu is excellent, service
very good and above all the price is right."
