Diner Reviews
  • "Be prepared for unique dining/wine tasting experience. The concept is wine paired with small food plates. The food is delicious but it is not allowed to shine because it plays second fiddle to the wine. Great for a snack or a light lunch; not so great for dinner."

  • "This is an outstanding restaurant! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. You have no problem leaving wine choices to their recommendations. It is upscale but not stuffy. Any table you are at, you feel like you are the only ones in the restaurant. The staff makes it a very personal experience. Our favorites were the coriander brined chicken wings and the tempura Maitake Mushrooms!...oh, and then there was the red wine fries, the Tomato Risotto....and last but not least, the Kobe Sliders. We will be back!"

  • "This was the ultimate winetasting and dining experience. Excellent wine pairing and excellent food. Definitely out of our comfort zone but something we really enjoyed. I would highly recommend this wine experience!"

  • "Wine snobs may turn up their noses at the tought of Kendall-Jackson but this tasting room/restaurant is a gem. You can order bites or get the 5 course tasting menu that comes with wine pairing for $45 (great value). Don't miss the tempura style fried mushrooms!! You can also try their small production wines. Some of them are outstanding."

  • "This restaurant is made up of small delectable bites, specifically paired with Kendall-Jackson wines. You can order a la carte, or follow one of three chef tasting "flights". A delightful experience. Upscale atmosphere, service, and food…yet, casual and easy vibe. Highly recommend!"

  • "A charming, intelligent, creative approach to sampling Kendall-Jackson wine. They provide a delightful opportunity to make your own wine pairings. The wines are good, the food is good to excellent, the service is careful, thoughtful, measured and informative. "

  • "Excellent wine and food pairings. Great value and outstanding service. The 2009 Highland Estates Trace Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon, Knights Valley will knock your socks off!"

  • "I have been to Partake several times and this time brought 4 more family and friends who had never been before. They were just as impressed as I have been each time. They loved the food and pairings and purchased wine afterward. Looking forward to coming back soon."

  • "Great way to pair some wines with bites of lunch. "

  • "The tasting menu was delicious and the wines were perfect. We were dining late, and felt a little rushed by the waiter, who started stacking up the wines, which got us a little confused. I loved the decor, but felt that the lighting was way too bright. It completely changed the mood of our dining experience. Would have liked it to be a little darker for a more romantic feel."

  • "If you like small plates with wine pairings in a cool, elegant but casual environement with good service, stop in here! Not cheap, but high quality fun and tasty experience. I landed up buying a bottle of each of the wines that came with my pairings, (had to restrain myself from joining the wine club). Comfortable seating, pleasant, fun flexible service, very clean"

  • "Superb, excellent tapas menu with delicious flights of KJ wine. Vegan friendly."

  • "I appreciated how different the menu is set up and liked that decisions were made for me. The mystery glass was a fun twist. The wines and pairings were great. The service great - not pretentious or snobby wine people, very friendly. We didn't have one server, but many including the manager who came by to check on us and ask us where we were from. And the price was right - $45 each and we were definitely sated with enough food and wine."

  • "We took friends visiting from the UK, and they were overwhelmed at how delicious and what a wonderful concept it is. I would only go back for dinner though, as I ate far too much food for lunch. The sliders, mushrooms, salads, boneless chicken wings all outstanding. Great spot, highly recommend it, server extremely knowledgeable and friendly."

  • "We participated in the local Restaurant week. Partake was one of the few participants that offered wine pairings with the courses. Everything was great."

  • "My wife and I along with a few friends came here during the Sonoma restaurant week and had a wonderful experience. They started us off with a blind wine tasting, testing our wine skills, and then served kobe beef sliders with red wine fries - delicious! Then, we capped off the experience with a delicious cheesecake with a salted caramel finish."

  • "Enjoyed dining at Partake so much. The food is outstanding and the wine pairings are perfect! What a nice change from the ordinary tasting room. I left here wanting more!"

  • "Great offer for lunch. Our server was very welcoming and service was great. The food portion was a bit skimpy, but the wine tasting and service made up for the lack of food."

  • "My husband & I were so impressed with the wine & food pairing. We don't usually drink white wines, but tasting the Sauvignon & Chardonnay wines with the dishes it was paired with, was an eye opener! Every dish with wine was so delicious, we just wanted more! My favorite was the lamb dish w/ the cab, just fabulous! Every course was fantastic, from the oysters to the delish "oatmeal" dessert! It was such a grand experience, we cannot wait to go back & take our friends!! The best thing too was being able to purchase a bottle of wine to take home & the Late Harvest Chardonnay is to die for! Kudos to the chef & fantastic employees who delivered excellent service & overall a fantastic experience for our first time visit.:-)"

  • "One of the BEST dining experiences I have ever had. Nothing short of Outstanding, overall. Food: excellent combination of wine with each course of the meal, freshest ingredients, and perfect blend of textures, flavors, and even the right amount of salt! Service: servers knew everything about each item we inquired about from the menu, carefully described each wine, concisely explained the rationale for each pairing, and promptly tended to our needs. Ambience: clean, classy, and chic decor. Some kind of sound deadening material would be helpful, such as a few tapestries. DEFINITELY worth visiting on more than one occasion each quarter of the year!"

  • "a restaurant. Lunch was interesting and enjoyable. But the servings were meager in quantity so that one had to fill up on bread and french fries. In France, the dishes would be labeled as 'amuse gueule'. In Spain, they would be tapas. Partake is a nice place for a casual meeting place but not for a meal. It is not a restaurant in the strict sense of the word."

  • "Awesome way to try the wines with the foods. Thanks"

  • "Although Partake is designed around pairings, they got some off so far that we started to laugh. Some were spot on, as expected, but to have even one of five so ludicrously off is hard to imagine. In our case, it was a yoghurty dish called "oatmeal" with a bitter sweet young chardonnay. The clash made your mouth feel totally gross. My partner and I did the pairing at the same time, and we both looked up at each other with the same expression of shock and dismay."

  • "We had lunch at Partake with friends visiting from the East Coast. They are winery owners, looking for new ideas concerning winery event experience. They had visited and tasted at several wineries over the previous 3-4 days, from Monterey to the North Bay regions. Being an employee of Kendall Jackson, I suggested Partake for lunch to say good by. They commented several times on the excellence of the service and the knowledge of the young lady who took care of our needs. She explained each wine by varietal, region grown and described some of the terroir influence in the wines. The parings of wine to food were described by them as the Highlight of the Experience."

  • "What a great wine tasting experience!!! We ordered from the tasting menu and the foods and wines were greatly paired. The small bites on their menu also give diners an opportunity to be adventurous with food and wine choices. The service was outstanding and the food was beautifully presented. Their variety of wines is outstanding. Will most definitely be coming back to Partake by KJ."

  • "We ordered individual items, each with its wine pairing (2 oz) and ate 'family style'. The food was designed so that it really added to the wine and vice versa. Fun experience!"

  • "KJ knows how to pair food with wine, and this experience was a delicious one indeed. The chef's carefully prepared plates with KJ's wines makes your mouth burst with enjoyment! The food was really spectacular and don't hesitate to go for dinner, not just a tasting."

  • "This is definitely a foodie experience. K-J pairs wines they make in very small lots (200 cases or less) with small plates of food. While the small plate serving sizes could be larger (especially on the "garden" prix fixe selection), the balance and flavor of the dishes is incredible. Combine that with some very nice wines and a peaceful atmosphere and it makes for a lovely Wine Country experience. The pace is slow, so be sure to allow a couple of hours. You wouldn't want to rush through this type of food and wine pairing anyway."

  • "Kendall-Jackson has hit a homerun with Partake. This is a great wine-and-food experience. Chef Justin Wangler creates stunning small plates to compliment (and complement!) K-J's limited production wines. If you think of Kendall-Jackson as a supermarket wine, think again. Partake serves up K-J wines made in tiny lots available only at the winery--and Partake. You won't find better wines anywhere."

  • "I do understand it was Valentines Day, however, i felt incrediably RUSHED through what should have been a great dining experience. This is a resturant that pairs wine with food. I shouldn't have to chug my wine because i was told "we need you to be done at 8:00 we have another party coming in." I would like to go again on a non holiday. Perhaps i would have a more relaxed experience. The food and wine were wonderful!"

  • "Food n wine pairings were excellent. Portions were good for the price and the food was presented well with interesting flavors, textures and combinations of ingredients you wouldn't get anywhere else and definitely not at home."

  • "As I emailed yesterday, the experience at K-J was excellent. The server made the day thoroughly educational, pleasant and overall an outstanding experience. Thank you, Don Emerson"

  • "My husband and I have been here twice and had a fantastic time each visit. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. They have a wide variety of wines to taste and foods to pair if you are interested. We tried many different items but the pork buns, heirloom tomato risotto, and Kobe beef with butternut squash are a few of the standouts. It is really worth a visit."

  • "As a Sonoma county resident, my wife and I are always looking for great places to enjoy an exceptional meal and wine. If you like being a bit adventurous, definitely do the Bites instead of the Flights. You can get all the items off the Flights in the Bites, plus a few extra items which we found more to our taste than items listed in the Flights. The service was excellent, with our servers delivering items in a timely manner so we felt neither rushed nor waiting. They knew their wines well, giving us great information on each wine and how it would pair with each dish. There were even several dishes in which several of their wines paired well. I'd highly recommend."

  • "This is an excellent place to dine even if you don't drink wine. Their focus is on wine pairings, be it a chefs' prix fixe or small plates a la carte. We did both in our party of four and either way you go you will have outstanding food and wine, ( either a 2 oz or 5 oz pour). The presentation and pairings were well thought out and the food itself was creative and tasty. Our server knew his wines and clearly enjoyed his job, and paced everything very well."
