Booked a reservation for last Sunday, walked up to the door to discover it was closed temporarily. Thanks for the warning!

I made a reservation and received my confirmation email. I went to the restaurant only to find via printed paper that the restaurant was closed for repairs. Thank goodness I was able to go to another restaurant with no problem. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the restaurant was closed, I would have planned my evening better.

  • I had an early lunch at Parsian

I had an early lunch at Parsian on a quiet week-day. The meal was notable for the warm flat-bread served with delicious tzatziki and a green basil spread. The service was excellent and unobtrusive. Parsian is a homey restaurant with food that should be familiar to those who've dined in middle-eastern restaurants. While the food didn't stand out in any particular way, it was a good value.

Not fancy but very good food and service at a bargain price, especially for Old Town Alexandria.

  • Went to Parsian for Valentine's

Went to Parsian for Valentine's Day. We wanted a different cuisine, and this suited us fine. Delicious Middle Eastern food, great service, good prices. We'd certainly go back. We were dismayed, however, by the three large TVs mounted in this small, white-tablecloth restaurant. It's not a sports bar or a quick service restaurant, so they seemed rather inappropriate--even though the sound was off and they were set to CNN. A diner cannot help but see them wherever s/he looks and then engaged by the closed captions.

Great authentic tasting Persian food. The server was pleasant, courteous and efficient but was unfamiliar with the menu. Perhaps she was new...

  • There are two levels to this

There are two levels to this restaurant. We were seated in a room apart from other diners on the second floor. There was no ambiance. It was all on the first floor where mostly families were dining. Service was slow and although our waiter was very nice, he forgot utensils was slow to take orders. The food was good and basic.

  • A great addition to Old Town

This is a persian restaurant that will do very well in the Old Town neighborhood. There food is the best I've tasted (of kebabs) in the entire area. The atmosphere is very calming and it is an added benefit that you can sit outside to eat on a nice fall day. The Parsian special was very good, and the chicken kebabs were juicy. The rice is very flavorful and again, one of the best in the area. Try this place once and you will come back for more. The service was a bit slow that night and our waitress seemed to be inexperienced. However, once the food came out, we forgot all about it because everything was so delicious. Upstairs has seats as well; however, a private party was going on and so they couldn't seat us there.

Great food, prepared well. Authentic bases with a "chef" flair. Actively seeks feedback on recipe changes and asks for suggestions. A wonderful addition to King Street.
