A word from Parma Trattoria Mozzarella Bar
Parma, Italy is located in northwest Emilia-Romagna and is known widely for its food, namely Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto de Parma. It is also famous for signature pastas that you fill, such as tortellini, ravioli, and anolini. Parma is an architectural hub as well, featuring one of the oldest universities in the world-the University of Parma. Parma's great fortune with good meats and cheeses is due in large part to the Po River plain, which lies within Emilia-Romagna's boundaries and happens to be one of the most fertile tracts of farmland in Italy. As the seasons change, so do the various crops and the flavor of the Parmesan.

In tune with the value's of the Emilia-Romagna's region, Parma Trattoria's philosophy is to use organic ingredients from local farmers, and green, unaltered products whenever possible.

They must have just waxed the floors because they were scary slippery and my shoes had rubber bottoms. The hostess slipped and fell. Me and my friends husband were both having problems walking on them to a ridiculous level!"

The server allowed us plenty of time to visit with friends, enjoy wine and bread, slowly order, savor the food, then linger over dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks. The pasta dishes were all great, and the setting was casually chic. The service was attentive but not hovering. Living in Boulder, this will be our go-to place for Italian."

  • "This was our second visit and the food was great both times. The Ceasar salads were wonderful, not overly dressed, just right. My husband had Lasagne, which he has had a difficult time finding to his liking, but said this was one of the best he has had. Our group has tried a variety of items, and all were rated highly. This last visit, I had butternut ravioli, which I didn't particularly like, it was quite sweet. I had the lobster ravioli last time and it was very good. The place is busy, so can get kind of noisy, but you can still carry on a conversation. Both our visits were on Satuday nights and I would recommend reservations to prevent a wait."

  • "We have made return trips and will definitely plan more. The food is great. Although it's in a strip mall and a little out of the way, once you're inside you forget about where you are. The ambiance is moderate to up-scale, but it seems to me that families fare just a well as date-night couples. We love to support smaller, independent, local restaurants and Parma make it easy to do so."

  • "Good casual Italian restaurant. We had the carbonara and lasagna. Both dishes were good, but I wouldn't say it was anything noteworthy compared to other Italian food I've had. The server was excellent until we were finished. Then I got the feeling that she was rushing us out. There were other tables open and we weren't the only people eft in the restaurant. It soured the experience somewhat. Overall I'd say it's a good place, but I wouldn't recommend it for a special occasion. It's more of a casual place."

  • "I never hesitate to recommend Parma to others. I have never heard anything bad about the food, the service or the ambiance. This is a fantastic place to celebrate events or have a nice dinner for 2. We brought some foodie friends with us this time and they absolutely loved it. Our server this time was absolutely fantastic- appeared when you needed her but didn't harrass us, made recommendations and checked in on a regular basis. I will, of course, be back to Parma... maybe even within the week!"

  • "This was my eighth time back to Parma and I love it every time I come! The food is reasonably priced considering the quality and the presentation of the food (I personally recommend the pasta dishes!). Tonight I took my girlfriend here for a date and we had great service, were seated very quickly, and were very satisfied with our food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Italian food, wants to impress, or have a great meal with their family."

  • "We just left the place and I wanted to write a review fast so I would not forget. This has just turned into my favorite place in Denver. The quality of the food is excellent, the creamy mozzarela... Let me said that twice: the creamy mozzarella. Just fantastic. Service was good and the place inside is fine but not very fancy. Don't worry, the food makes it up for that and then some. We will be back. Often"

  • "A friend recommended Parma to me, and I had never even heard about it even though I live 2 minutes away! This was a GREAT spot. We made it for the happy hour, and it was a steal. I'm from the East coast, and we know pizza. It's hard to find good pizza in Colorado for some reason, but these guys make a damn good one...and cheap! Also tried the artichoke appetizer...really really good! Definitely coming back."

  • "I went with a party of 10 for lunch and all sat down. Didn't realize that there are no food servers during lunch we had to go to the front and order the food then they brought it out. Besides that the restaurant has the best food and very consistent on quality. Whenever anyone come to town (work or personal) it is a must to go which is generally for dinner and nothing but good experience."

  • "Having moved from California, we were used to outstanding places nearby. Here in the Boulder suburbs, the options are more limited. Parma is absolutely phenomenal! The food and service were outstanding, the selections numerous and the overall feel was just perfect. The cesare and the Parma salads were great starters and the Pollo Valdostano and Agnello Scottadito were absolutely fabulous! All paired with a nice wine selection suggested by the server it was great! All for only $75 for two. Fantastic food, great service and good prices. We'll be making this a regular stop!"

  • "The food is fabulous; unfortunately they are crowding tables in making the atmosphere feel like a fast food chain. This is the second time we have dined here and both times our seating has unsatisfactory. We were a party of five and they sat us at a 4 person table crammed in a back corner where the tables are so tight you cannot enjoy a private conversation and the wait staff is bumping into someone every time they walk by. While I am sure cramming these tables together has improved their profit margin it has impacted their customers overall experience negatively."

  • "This was our 3rd time here. The first times, we enjoyed the cheese and meat trays and were too full to continue with an entree. This time, it was a set menu for V-day (4 courses). My appetizer was delicious: soft cheese - harder on the outside and creamy on inside (more so than brie) - served with a thin-slice capicola and arugula. My husband had shrimp scampi which was also good. The salad had strawberries and candied pecans with a light dressing which was perfect. My husband is GF and there was only one item on menu that he couldn't have. That's the one I had. :) - lobster bisque pasta dish and was delicious. He had a ricotta-stuffed chicken breast ... We tried a new wine (something like the Farmer). Dessert: tiramisu and warm brownie."

  • "This was our first time at Parma, although we have wanted to try it for a while. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, the wine recommendations were spot on and our server was very knowledgable and professional. It's a great little spot and a real gem in suburban Boulder. The atmosphere is quiet and welcoming, with a large gas fireplace and open kitchen. It was Friday night around 7, and, a bit surprisingly, the restaurant was packed with large family groups, all of which included multiple small children. Our hostess acknowledged that weeknights were much quieter. This might be useful info when deciding when to visit Parma. We loved it, and we will be back!"

  • "Went to for a birthday with a party of 8. Overall, food was very good. Kitchen was accommodating to special requests. Ordered their Par-Manhattan, they served a bourbon laced glass of vermouth and bitters which I reluctantly drank it in hopes the second would be better.Returned the second for a third which was only made worse by adding even more bitters. Ordered the $28 medium-rare fillet for my son. It came out butterflied and medium-well. I didn't feel like complaining again after sending back the cold soup. Entrees didn't arrive at the same time, leaving 4-5 five minutes between the first and the last entree to arrive. Perhaps it would be best to visit this capable, but under-performing restaurant on a week night for a better experience."

  • "Our work team went out to lunch here and were all impressed. Tasty and healthy salads with salmon, fresh mozzarella cheeses, greens. All excellent quality and freshness. Pizzas are excellent as well. Fireplace in center of room is nice, but is soon lost with the arrival of the regulars, quite a popular place when the 11:45am arrives. A bit on the pricey side, but it is spent on the quality of the ingredients. Lunch there will not disappoint."

  • "We tried Parma Trattoria on a Saturday night after a recommendation from a friend- what a find! Although it's a little loud the service and food were both very good, as was our wine. We shared a buffalo mozzarella appetizer with roasted peppers and arugula- so savory and delicious. Warm bread was also welcome. I had Linguine with Shrimp in lemon-wine sauce- pasta perfectly cooked as was the shrimp and the sauce was perfect- I had asked them to go easy on the garlic and they did. My husband had linguine with shrimp, mussels in a red sauce and he was delighted with his. Coffee was strong but not bitter- very good. We will go back for sure- prices were very reasonable as well."

  • "Been disappointed by the Boulder food scene for a while, and was ecstatic to find Parma. The food was amazing! We had the following items: Burata w/ fresh tomato and green tomato marmalade - cheese was to die for....absolute wonderful. Not a huge fan of the marmalade as it was a bit too sweet for us, but it was passable. Burata w/ grilled vegtables - same things, cheese amazing, sides not too good, but passable Bruschetta Caprino (w/ goat cheese and avocado) - AMAZING, loved it Arancini - good, but not great Chicken Al Matone - nice flavor Brasato al Barolo (boneless short ribs) - AMAZING flavor / taste. Would definitely get this again. Even the spinach that comes with this was wonderful Overall, the food was to die for!"

  • "The food we had was very, very good, but the service was unbelievably awful!! The host was unorganized and unfriendly, the waiter never cracked a smile or said hello, just asked "Are you ready to order?", and the manager shouted from the bar as we left "Thanks". Our group was intending to share stories of the holidays and vacations, but the noise level was very high. Despite all of that, our food was really tasty. The polenta with mushrooms was outstanding, the bruchetta with avocado and red chili sauce was very good, and the beet salad was yummy too. The gnocchi and the ravioli was also nice. Will probably wait to see how they iron out some issues before I return."

  • "This was our first time eating at Parma, and unfortunately, it will be our last. While I have no complaints about the food, the atmosphere was that of an Olive Garden and the service no better. Our waitress was so frazzled we could not understand much of what she was saying and was quite irritated when we had questions about the menu. She seemed to have a good understanding of the menu, just didn't want to take the time to answer any questions. When our drink came out wrong, she was argumentative and instead of making it right, told us to order something else. I understand that this is, by no means fine dining, it's also not McDonalds and a certain amount of customer service should be expected. So, if you go, get the carry-out."
