A word from Parma Trattoria Mozzarella Bar
Parma, Italy is located in northwest Emilia-Romagna and is known widely for its food, namely Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto de Parma. It is also famous for signature pastas that you fill, such as tortellini, ravioli, and anolini. Parma is an architectural hub as well, featuring one of the oldest universities in the world-the University of Parma. Parma's great fortune with good meats and cheeses is due in large part to the Po River plain, which lies within Emilia-Romagna's boundaries and happens to be one of the most fertile tracts of farmland in Italy. As the seasons change, so do the various crops and the flavor of the Parmesan.

In tune with the value's of the Emilia-Romagna's region, Parma Trattoria's philosophy is to use organic ingredients from local farmers, and green, unaltered products whenever possible.

We enjoyed our dinner but found the restaurant, and staff, overwhelmed by the rush of a Friday night dinner. Service was very nice and good - but slow to deliver our drinks and food. Add a little more support staff to help the waitresses. Food was good - but not memorable. The arugula salad needs some love and attention.

My risotto was undercooked, their special, the Frito Misto, was under fried, too salty, the bread also seemed slightly 'doughy'. Only the wine was good and it was a highway robbery what they charged for that horrible food.

We celebrated my birthday with our family. There were 8 of us, including our 2 grandchildren. They love your pizza and bread. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Each had something different. It was a very fun evening. The only thing that does bother some is the noise. It is rather leaning to the very high level. Our server was excellent. We dine with you often.

Mozzarella bar is fabulous and the food is outstanding! Went for my daughter's 17th birthday and it was perfect. Chicken Scaloppine, Lobster Ravioli, Four Cheese Gnocchi - all delicious. Friendly, fast service. A bit noisy, but the atmosphere is pleasant.

Place was totally packed on Sat. night, so make a reservation! No empty table, but we could hear ourselves talk, which was great. Very convivial atmosphere. Food was good - Roman Wedding Soup, Lobster Ravioli (excellent sauce), Chicken Marsala, and the featured wine. Even enjoyed the bread in the bread basket, nicely warm and fresh. Chocolate mousse was the best dessert, though the warm chocolate cake and orange creme brule also won rave reviews. There is outdoor dining - looking forward to trying that next time.

Disappointing visit to this restaurant. Had a long wait for a table despite a reservation. Restaurant was crowded and very noisy with tables crammed together. Too loud to talk to others at our table. Restaurant was out of scallops ordered and offered to substitute extra shrimp, but did not. Should have gone somewhere else and definitely will, next time.

This was our second trip to Parma (the last one was quite a while ago). This time we took friends who hadn't been there before and we were hoping for a great dinner like we had the first time. You didn't disappoint. Dinner was great, the wine was wonderful, and our waiter was friendly. Great Saturday night! Thanks!

We had a great dinner! Service was just ok because our waitress was spread too thin. its noisy so we were almost yelling at some points. I guess that is supposed to be called lively.. I find it not great for dinner conversation. We will be back. We were there introducing our friends to your restaurant.. they liked it too. Great gluten free choices.. chris

Overall the food was good and the service once we were seated was great, but being on a date with time constraints I assumed with having a reservation it would not be a concern until we ended up having to wait roughly 20 minutes to be seated. This was upsetting especially because the staff was not very accommodating and didn't seem to make it a priority to get us seated when we were waiting 20 minutes after our reservation time in a situation with a time constraint.

I have eaten here several times now, and I have never been disappointed! The menu selection is excellent and moderately priced with entrees ranging from around $10-25. Service has been really good every time I've been. Appetizers and drinks are great, too. It can be a little loud on a busy weekend night, but that's about the only thing remotely negative. We'll definitely be back.

The food was good but the service was less than stellar, which really detracts from the overall experience. I was disappointed in the fact that I had made advanced reservations and was seated in the worst and smallest spot! Also on a side note, be forewarned that their menu is like the encyclopedia Britannica, far too many choices. Keeping it simple and delicious is almost always the best bet.

Parma is a gem, hidden in mini-malls of Louisville. I have eaten there many times, never been disappointed. I have recommended Parma to out of town guests from New York City and they love it, they know good Italian food. I have friends that are Italian and they say "This is the real deal, just like my Gramma used to make." They have a great happy hour and a great wine list. I highly recommend trying Parma. Find out for yourself!

We went on a Sunday night, spur of the moment. Inside wasn't at all crowded, maybe because it was very cold, A/C turned up too high?? The patio is lovely, surrounded by trees and plants. We sat out there. We had arugula salad with parmesan (of course!) and a lemon vinaigrette--excellent. And mussels with a lovely sauce. Also the melanzane (eggplant) flat bread which comes with a small salad. The eggplant mixture is cold and quite good; I would have preferred it warm. I really enjoyed a glass of the special Multepulciano (sp?)red wine. The best part of the meal was the saffron risotto with asparagus and shrimp. Perfectly executed. Service was great. The limoncello dessert was also very enjoyable. We will return--with friends.

I wish you had a rating of "excessive" or "intolerable" for noise. It wasn't "energetic" - it was draining and oppressive. We had been seated inside. Could not hear anything that any one of the four of us said. Including a small child with supersonic screaming. Not that the parents would ever interrupt their talking to calm their upset child. We went outside and the wait staff was kind about relocating us. The patio was quiet, and it rained, forcing us to move (again) under the roof, but at least we were able to hear each other. I'll go back for the food, but either early or late, so I don't have to deal with the brain damage of the insane noise levels.

Parma has quickly become our favorite place! Have been there for lunch - affordable, fresh, and yummy. Plus, their pesto topping for the bread is one we could scoop up. We just went with a group of friends and managed to enjoy happy hour at the start of our meal. Everything was made fresh and was outstanding. The more we go, the more we try - you can't go wrong with any item on the menu. We enjoyed veal saltimbocca, spaghetti de mar, carbonara gnocchi, scampi linguini, creme brulee, tiramisu...ahhh perfect! And the house chianti and mixed drinks were smooth. Wonderful place to go out with friends, family, or even alone - not to mention affordable!

We were so pleased to find this GEM of an eatery! My husband and I took two girlfriends ..all of us are seasoned travelers to Italy...on a week night . The menu offers a mix and match of "ITALIAN TAPAS "with an assortment of mozzarella..(.the burrata was FABULOUS )..., veggies, seafood, salads etc to share. It was delicious. Everything was so farm fresh and the presentation was Outstanding! We then shared the asparagus risotto...so creamy and tasty, veal piccata....light and flavorful, veal Marsala....very rich and tender and a spaghetti pasta with shrimp, garlic and oil made at my husbands request. Desert was apple pie al la mode and a great creme brûlée. Service was friendly, efficient and quick. FABULOUS DINING !
