A word from Parlor Steakhouse
Husband-and-wife co-owners Michael Susy Glick welcome you to their contemporary steakhouse. Conveniently located only two blocks from the 92nd Street Y, Parlor Steakhouse features the type of elegant, stylish interior that Upper East Side residents have long desired in their neighborhood. Both the restaurant’s menu and its décor appeal to a broad range of diners: from young couples meeting for a drink and solo guests grabbing a casual dinner at the bar, to foursomes and business diners looking for a delicious meal in an attractive setting. Parlor Steakhouse’s menu offers items at many price points and encompasses both steakhouse classics and a wide range of creative preparations, particularly seafood dishes, courtesy of Executive Chef Lucas Billheimer, a veteran of Lure Fishbar (and Park Avenue Café). What’s more, Parlor Steakhouse features a 40-seat private event room downstairs that includes its own bar and a working fireplace. We look forward to seeing you soon.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "One of the top restaurants in this neighborhood. Wonderful friendly, accommodating service. We sat outside ...."

  • "I really love the variety of steaks they serve. My favorite is the skirt / hanger steak. I also love the fried onion ring, brocolli and sauted spinach."

  • "the title of a 'steakhouse' is misleading. steaks were mediocre at best and nearly as expensive as some of the best steakhouses (lugers, rothmans, strip house). i had a petite filet and my husband had the special bone in filet which was somehow DRY. we ordered 3 side dishes - creamed spinach, sauteed mushrooms and mac & cheese. creamed spinach was arguably the best dish. sauteed mushrooms had zero flavor - no salt and not entirely cooked, there were large bits of raw mushroom. gross. the mac & cheese (which our waitress recommended as one of her favs AND one of the most popular sides) also had no flavor and was just bland. with a bottle of wine, our 200$+ dinner for 2 was overpriced at best. too bad since we live right across the street."

  • "Parlor is a tried and true neighborhood spot for us & friends. It can be busy, and have had service experiences vary, but the food is always consistent, and haven't eaten a bad meal there to date."

  • "Disappointing this time after a terrific meal our last visit; apps were not great; delmonico was overdone and had to be sent back; second time right but grisly; sauces, dessert, espresso and drinks were satisfying as was the enthusiastic bar crowd cheering on the soccer match. Not a good choice for a quiet romantic meal, but convenient for UESers and previously I would recommend with enthusiasm."

  • "My son told us about this place right near his apartment. We decided to give it a try. I was in the mood for steak. The Parlour did not disappoint. My steak was cooked to perfection and it was delicious. Our server, Stacey, was terrific too. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. I will definitely repeat."

  • "My daughter and I dined here on Saturday evening. The restaurant was surprisingly empty. Service was attentive and friendly but a bit uncoordinated. We had to ask to get the check, for example. Food was very good but not great. We both dined off the Prix Fixe menu which oddly had surcharges on a couple items so not really Prix Fixe. Steaks came with four different types of sauces. All were competently rendered although the horseradish and steak sauce were my favorites. The mashed potatoes had a different taste. Not different like they had dish detergent in them but different. My daughter thought the taste was ginger. A tad expensive thanks to Prix Fixe surcharges. All in all I would return."

  • "The menu looks nice, the space is attractive enough, but distracted service, relatively high prices, and hit or miss desserts don't combine for a great experience."

  • "We dined here for our anniversary and it was perfect! The staff was on point and super friendly. On my open table reservation i noted that it was our anniversary and the staff congratulated us, which i thought was very sweet of them. The food was just the perfect portion and it was quite delicious. I highly recommend a date night or with a group of people."

  • "We had a wonderful meal at parlour... Good scene. Where else can a girl get a good meal (raw bar and steak) while their man gets their sports fix. The prix fixe which goes all night on mondays (only 5 to 7 other weeknights)... was pretty good!"

  • "Great service and food. Brunch menu is great for a big group. The staff were very accommodating to our whole party of 13, including 3 children. Will definitely be returning to Parlor soon! "

  • "What a great experience. We were trying to decide on here & a very high end steakhouse. So glad we chose here. Everything was great. Atmosphere was perfect and everything all 4 in our party had was delish and perfect in presentation and quality! "

  • "Great steakhouse. Great neighborhood hangout and worth traveling to get too. Family loves it and they also love having families. Waiter/waitresses could not be nicer. "

  • " I recently went to brunch here and it was nothing great! I have gone to alot better brunches in the UES. My Frittata was very good i really enjoyed it but the eggs benedict and steak and eggs was nothing to die for. The portions were very small and did not give you sides with your meals. We also had a round of oysters and they were very small and not fresh they were kind of gross. We did have about 7 drinks but even those were just okay and the bloody mary's were not spicy or tasty at all. The plus was that it did have very nice outdoor seating. Such a waste of money! I regret coming here."

  • "The food was excellent, the wine list and the service were very good. The noise level was, however, very high."

  • "Comfortable and friendly, Parlor Steakhouse knows how to welcome 92Y patrons, feed them well and get them out the door. Food was not inexpensive, but they offered a range, from an $18 burger to a $96 steak. Most entrees were in the high 20s - 30s. My Chopped Salad was chopped beyond recognition - I won't order that again. Salmon and burger were both delicious and warm chocolate cake was super. We appreciated the neutral, contemporary decor - no predictable, hokey "steak house" velvet and paneling here!"

  • "Used to go here quite a bit, but seems the quality of the food has been dropping lately. The last two times, I had the hanger steak at brunch and the sirloin strip at dinner, and each time they didn't taste very good. Little flavor, poor texture and frankly, seemed like it was reheated."

  • "I always go to the Parlor Steakhouse for brunch because I love their mimosas and BLT Frittata. The service is always great and I highly recommend it!"
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "The brunch items we ordered were not that great and it took 10-15 minutes to get ketchup for a fritata when we were sitting right at the bar. It might be a hit or miss situation with the food and a busy Sunday, but even the service was not that spectacular. Will I be back? No promises."

  • "Had the steak n' eggs for brunch. Steak was overcooked, dry and tasteless. Average brunch to say the least."

  • "The food was good but I was surprised that a frittata came without any bread or rolls. And when we asked, we got one small plate for three people, and had to ask a few times. That was sloppy. But otherwise it was fine."

  • "Great neighborhood place for brunch. Wish they'd add a few new options to their menu or seasonal specials. Overall happy!"
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "The steaks were tasteless, the lighting poor, the service so-so and the noise level way too high for conversation. The only thing I can say positively was that the sauteed mushrooms and garlic spinach were superb. Unbelievable for a steakhouse not to be able to cook the meat to the proper doneness....the requested "medium" on the hangar steak was overcooked and the meat stringy and tough with absolutely no seasoning despite the fact that it is described " marinated" on the menu. The NY Strip was equally tasteless.. This is not the place for discerning steak lovers."

  • "After many years of hounding from my husband, I finally relented and had dinner at Parlor Steak House. I had the tuna, my husband had the crab cake and hanger steak.. All was yummy...so glad I finally caved. We will be returning shortly for another scrumptious meal."

  • "We were a party of two and had a 5:30 reservation. We arrived on time.and were seated right away. We were one of the few people seated in the restaurant as it was still early. We felt so rushed. We were had appetizer, dinner and desert and we done by 6:05. We did not have two minutes to breath in between courses. The food was very good. Not spectacular but a very good meal. All 3 courses. I just wish I had more time to relax and enjoy them."

  • "Parlor is in the neighborhood thus we keep giving it chance after chance. Chicken this week overcooked/dry and much smaller portion than in the past (perhaps this is all due to restaurant week). My friend had the filet mignon requested rare. It was over cooked on one end as was most of the outside and the inside was beyond rare. Perhaps frozen when they started to cook it? third time they have not cooked her steaks correctly. Have had multiple burgers there & they just don't get it. Ask for medium well - it's overcooked/hockey puck. Aask for medium - it's blood red rare. How a steakhouse doesn't know how to prepare a red meat is beyond me. We are done giving Parlor the benefit of the doubt. Bar can get very noisy and not in a good way."

  • "I requested on Open table for a romantic table for my wife & I to enjoy a night away from the kids. My reservation was for 7pm and called in advance to say I was hitting traffic on the way in. We arrived at 730 and was seated immediately. They sat us downstairs in the corner. I checked out the people sitting near us and it consisted of all families. One mother actually breast feeding right next to us. Service was slow with the first round of drinks and the appetizers Crab Cake took about 30 mins before coming. We were never offered bread but watched all the tables surrounding us receive some. When I asked for the second round of drinks we asked for some bread. Steak was good and served with BBQ Sauce Fries were good as well."

  • "This review is for the weekend brunch: the brunch menu is unimaginative, with a small and mediocre range of options. The food is overpriced and the portions are too small/unfilling. Absolutely no substitutions allowed (even when we asked if they had varieties of toast - something even the more brusque NYC diners allow!). Service is inconsistent. We will not be returning."

  • "Good food. Severs take pride in the service the provided to guests. Not too many vegetarian options although the server offered me a lovely pasta dish that was not the menu. I was told that the pork chops were excellent and that twice baked potatoes were awesome."
