Husband-and-wife co-owners Michael Susy Glick welcome you to their contemporary steakhouse. Conveniently located only two blocks from the 92nd Street Y, Parlor Steakhouse features the type of elegant, stylish interior that Upper East Side residents have long desired in their neighborhood. Both the restaurant’s menu and its décor appeal to a broad range of diners: from young couples meeting for a drink and solo guests grabbing a casual dinner at the bar, to foursomes and business diners looking for a delicious meal in an attractive setting. Parlor Steakhouse’s menu offers items at many price points and encompasses both steakhouse classics and a wide range of creative preparations, particularly seafood dishes, courtesy of Executive Chef Lucas Billheimer, a veteran of Lure Fishbar (and Park Avenue Café). J ai l habitude de manger dans des restaurant gastronomique Francais et je vous assure que c est tout aussi comparable en terme de gout et pour l accueil je dirai bien plus convivial ☆ un grand merci a Thierry qui nous a conseillé sur les plans et le vin ☆ je te souhaite pleins de réussite sans m inqueter les gens ne peuvent pas sortir décue de ton restaurant c est mission impossible.   • "The steaks were tasteless, the lighting poor, the service so-so and the noise level way too high for conversation. The only thing I can say positively was that the sauteed mushrooms and garlic spinach were superb. Unbelievable for a steakhouse not to be able to cook the meat to the proper doneness....the requested "medium" on the hangar steak was overcooked and the meat stringy and tough with absolutely no seasoning despite the fact that it is described " marinated" on the menu. The NY Strip was equally tasteless.. This is not the place for discerning steak lovers."

  • "We were a party of two and had a 5:30 reservation. We arrived on time.and were seated right away. We were one of the few people seated in the restaurant as it was still early. We felt so rushed. We were had appetizer, dinner and desert and we done by 6:05. We did not have two minutes to breath in between courses. The food was very good. Not spectacular but a very good meal. All 3 courses. I just wish I had more time to relax and enjoy them."

  • "Parlor is in the neighborhood thus we keep giving it chance after chance. Chicken this week overcooked/dry and much smaller portion than in the past (perhaps this is all due to restaurant week). My friend had the filet mignon requested rare. It was over cooked on one end as was most of the outside and the inside was beyond rare. Perhaps frozen when they started to cook it? third time they have not cooked her steaks correctly. Have had multiple burgers there & they just don't get it. Ask for medium well - it's overcooked/hockey puck. Aask for medium - it's blood red rare. How a steakhouse doesn't know how to prepare a red meat is beyond me. We are done giving Parlor the benefit of the doubt. Bar can get very noisy and not in a good way."

  • "I requested on Open table for a romantic table for my wife & I to enjoy a night away from the kids. My reservation was for 7pm and called in advance to say I was hitting traffic on the way in. We arrived at 730 and was seated immediately. They sat us downstairs in the corner. I checked out the people sitting near us and it consisted of all families. One mother actually breast feeding right next to us. Service was slow with the first round of drinks and the appetizers Crab Cake took about 30 mins before coming. We were never offered bread but watched all the tables surrounding us receive some. When I asked for the second round of drinks we asked for some bread. Steak was good and served with BBQ Sauce Fries were good as well."

  • "This review is for the weekend brunch: the brunch menu is unimaginative, with a small and mediocre range of options. The food is overpriced and the portions are too small/unfilling. Absolutely no substitutions allowed (even when we asked if they had varieties of toast - something even the more brusque NYC diners allow!). Service is inconsistent. We will not be returning."

  • "We were very disappointed with the service and food quality. Staff were very kind but the orders took forever to arrive even our drinks took over half hour to arrive. The steaks were cold and dry and we had a long wait between appetizer and entree. We feel this restaurant was overwhelmed with the number of clients "restaurant week" brought them and couldn't handle it."

  • "The ambiance was great. The service was fine, but not great. Our waiter ended his shift in the middle of dinner and did not tell us. Notice would have been nice. When we finally found our new waiter (roughly 20-30 minutes after we ordered our wine and food from the original waiter), he was also fine. He gave us our check way to early. Normally, I wouldn't care except that he kept coming to check to see if I had put my card down yet. Finally I did. We hadn't even received dessert yet. Needless to say, we wanted coffee after dessert, but had already paid. He didn't seemed thrilled about having to start a new check so our coffee was gratis. This could have all been avoided by 1) perhaps asking if we would like coffee etc.Food was well prepared"

  • "I was looking for a brunch on the UES, preferably one with unlimited brunch cocktails, and they are few and far between. In my research I found Parlor Steakhouse, which has a really great brunch deal. Although it's not unlimited they give you 5 drinks and we were surprised to find out that basically felt like unlimited! I will definitely be back ad suggest it to friends, finally a place to brunch in walking distance from my apt!"

  • "The place is as expensive as Peter Lugers and with the same menu, and everything concerning the restaurant was atrocious. The steak was over done and, overall, no better than what I can make (poorly) on my own stove with frying pan. The fries were frozen-heated up--the worst of diner fries. The space between tables is close to nil. If one equates cost with quality, then this is the worst restaurant I have been to for ages."

We dined on a Monday so we had a choice of 1/2 price wines which is another plus! i work on 23rd and 1st and live in Westchester but I would definetly make the effort to go back!   • "Everything goes right -- from the reservation being ready to the friendly helpful service (from bus boy to waiter to charming hostesss -- not rushed, not ignored, water filled and re-filled, unobtrusive but still making sure 'is everything okay') to perfectly cooked entrees (rare is rare -- which is often rare!) and coffee is refilled. It's not inexpensive -- but it's totally worth it. You really get what you paid for."

  • "What a great find! Tucked away on the UES on 3rd Avenue between 89th and 90th, this restaurant serves some of the best food around. We had steak; me the strip and my companion the filet. They were both cooked to perfection; juicy and tender. They were accompanied by sautéed spinach and twice cooked potatoes...very delicious. The potato and leek soup was absolutely outstanding! I would highly recommend it. The staff were totally attentive without being overbearing. This is a great restaurant. The prices were reasonable (even outside of Restaurant Week Special). Try it - you will not be disappointed!"

  • "Went on a Sunday night and it was nice to see a mixed crowd with everyone from young couples to families with children. Had a perfectly cooked Dry Aged Strip Steak for 2 (just the right amount of pink/juice for Med Rare). Only had 1 side, Sauteed Spinach was was also excellent. Didn't experience any of the lapses in service that I read in other reviews, in fact it was quite the opposite. I barely finished my piece of bread and someone was at the table providing me another one. At least twice during the meal the manager checked to see how things were and even made an excellent suggestion of Beignets for dessert which are superb and even better than the Chocolate cake that we also had. Look forward to going back, great find in the area."

I'd say the steak was just a little underwhelming, as the outside was excellently charred, though the tenderness leaved just a bit to be desired. Overall the rest was excellent and it was not too loud or anything. Seamless service."

  • "I have gone to Parlor Steakhouse on several occasions; mostly for brunch but now twice for dinner. Went with my husband for Valentine's Day, they offered both their regular menu and a few extras as well. The food, as usual, was excellent - service was fast and attentive. The decor I found a bit off, red heart balloons that did not seem in keeping with the quality of decor in the restaurant on a typical night but not all that important. Overall, a very good experience again at Parlor."
