We have been going there for 20 years, often go for special occasions, and have never been disappointed. They have an interesting and varied menu. We don't drink, so not sure re the wine list. It is a lovely place, but not at all stuck-up, and we have seen some people there dressed very casually, though we usually dress up when we go there.

What has happened to the Parkway Grill? It has always been a special occasion restaurant for my wife and I, but I'm not sure we'll ever return. The first thing we noticed was that all the servers we used to know, some for many years, were gone. The service was poor. Worst example was clearing a large table near us and restacking chairs, bumping into our table in the middle of our meal. Attempting to clear before we had finished (we had a 7:45 reservation). Food was disappointing, my wife's pasta primavera, if that's what it was, was ridiculously oversauced; my linguine with beef and mushrooms was tired. The room was half full, lacking the spark that made this place worth the high prices. Nowt the Smith Brothers have turned it into a store.

I have been going to Parkway Grill in Pasadena for many years. It is always my first choice when I consider dining out to celebrate very special occasions. The ambiance is romantic and you get the feeling of being very affluent the moment you walk in. The service and food are nothing short of terrific! You certainly get what you pay for and it is an dining experience you will not shortly forget. Dr Ted Marriott, DC Pasadena resident

So good that we plan to write a nice letter to them! Excellent creative menu choices. Top-quality ingredients, perfectly cooked. We are foodies and had a hard time deciding what to try, so we'll be back! Very friendly, attentive staff made us feel special on our anniversary (with greetings and unexpected flowers) and accommodated our mild disability needs to make for a stellar anniversary dinner. Service from our waiter Manny rated among the top 5 servers we've ever had. Friendly, attentive, gracefully explaining what we didn't know about, brought us wine tasters, extra food dishes to sample. Manager also came by to ask how things were (always nice to see a manager touch base with the customers).

This was the destination for my mother’s birthday dinner, and our group of four had a great time. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was luxurious and calm but not static or affected. The service was excellent and everyone was quite attentive from the moment we walked through the doors. I would definitely go back.

Parkway Grill remains among my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles (yes, I know it's in Pasadena). The menu is always filled with a delightful array of choices and the food is almost always excellent. Plates are designed in an attractive and enticing manner. The selection of Single Malt Scotches gives me variety and the desserts offer a nice close to a wonderful evening. Finally, the service is almost without fail excellent, from greeters to servers to busers. I also dine at the adjacent restaurant, The Arroyo Chop House, which shares ownership.

Sides dish (vegetable) that came with the entree was a bit skippy, but it was delicious. Using it as a decorative purpose was fine but for healthy balance was not quite enough. -the Short rib was excellent, very tasty and tender -The Roasted Salmon was very nice, cook to perfection, the artichoke was bit rough -The Grill pork chop was tasty but on the tough side. -The farmer's fruit salad was superb -Most of the deserts are on the sweeters side, for asian's taste, is a bit over power on sugar level, most asian deserts are made less sweet, due to a diabetic problem found in this population (mid age group) that can afford this type of restaurant ($$)and are very concern with their health.

The Parkway Grill is a classic, and it delivered once again. I was taking a friend of mine out as he had done some work for me on my house, so I wanted the dinner to be somewhat indulgent and special. It was, and he was absolutely blown away. The cocoa crepe, which I had bragged to him as being one of the most amazing dishes I'd ever had, lived up to its reputation, and his filet cut like butter and was cooked perfectly. I know he'll be back, as of course I will be. Parkway has been a standard place for celebrations or just a fun night out for me and my family for a long time.

We really enjoyed the food and the service. The overall experience was excellent. My only thought would be that some of the meats were overcooked. In the future, I'll order my meat rare, so that it will end up medium rare. Both my husband and I ordered our meats medium rare, but portions of it seemed medium (the duck and buffalo). However, my father-in-law particularly enjoyed his osso bucco. Other than that, we definitely enjoyed the experience and will definitely return.

I found the server came to the table too many times to see how we were doing. She asked if we wanted another glass of wine when we were not even through with our first glass. Maybe it was her way of being very attentive, but I would have preferred if she didn't come to our table as many times as she did while we were eating dinner.

The atmosphere and ambiance at Parkway are great, however, the food quality is extremely poor. For a restuarant that is listed on Opentable as $50 and above, the food quality is really not up to par with the dollar amount. The menu is not really impressive and the food is bland. The dessert menu was better but was still not anything extraordinary. Places like Sona, Melisse and Ortolan (though French) offer such flavorful dishes for the same amount.

Usually, Parkway Grill usually delivers good dishes with breathtaking presentation. I was a little disappointed with the salmon, as it tasted fishy. This is not the first time that this occurred. I dined on a Friday and was hoping for some fresh seafood. Otherwise, the flatbread was fabulous, and as always, the bread selection is wonderful.

Overall it was a great experience. We were seated right away and accommodated our request for having more people in our party. My favorite would have to be the flat bread and the creme brulee for dessert. The waiter however did forget a couple of things we requested. One being very important because it was someones birthday. He gave us 2 pieces of free crab cake which was a nice gesture but we had a party of 7. Other then that the food was very good. Would recommend!

Service was off. After being seated (with no menus), we were unattended for 10 minutes and finally had to flag a waiter. A manager did come over to apologize, and took it upon himself to bring us an appetizer that we were not interested in. I also noticed after the fact that the vintage of the wine that we ordered was different than what was indicated on the wine list. We were given complimentary after dinner drinks, which was a nice gesture (appreciated more than the free appetizer).

Incredibly poor service, overpriced food, and my $40 steak was 50% fat! The meal started off poorly with the restaurant being late with our table, followed by the waiter using a dirty martini glass to gesticulate when he described the specials. The waiter interrupted us midsentence, and didn't see to small details, such as getting us water with no ice or asking how the food was or if we needed anything. The pizza was overly salty and not very tasty. We will never return to this restaurant. The Arroyo Chop House, on the other hand, does a good job.

We all had dfferent entress...all were delicious! Portions were good sized. Seafood was particularly varied and excellent. My friend was a food and wine critic for various newspapers and now teaches wine courses in GA. He was very impressed with the wine list and the knowledgeable waitress.
