ParksideExcellent service, fantastic foodI've been to Parkside a number of times before for happy hour, but never for a full dinner. It was pretty remarkable that we got seated at 10:15 (we wanted that late reservation) and still got flawless service. Had a half dozen raw oysters on the shell from various parts of North America to start and then my European sea bass dish with octopus and prawns was the perfect seafood follow-up. Solid wine and drink menu as well. Highly recommended, especially with the lack of classy and quality restaurants on E. 6th Street.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food, great andWonderful food, great and knowledgable staff -- loved the experience -- we went back a second night - had such a great time4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMImaginative menu. We sampledImaginative menu. We sampled 4 appetizers and 3 entrees (2 people ). The staff was attentive and attractive. The crowd was enthusiastic, which (combined with the exposed ceiling) made it pretty noisy. I recommend it.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently goodParkside continues to be consistently good. In more than ten visits, I've never been disappointed, at least with the food. On this last visit, I had a terrific rabbit dish with green garlic spaetzle; I wasn't too sure about rabbit but I was in an adventurous mood, and it blew me away. The wine list is really nice, but prices tend to the high end- we got a great Oregon Pinot Gris at a very fair price.
The only knock is that it gets loud, making conversation difficult. The service can sometimes be a little bit uneven, however the food arrived quickly and we didn't have to wait too long between courses.
Parkside is one our go-to restaurants in Austin!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOur reservation was not honoredOur reservation was not honored timely, we had to wait 25 minutes. that left us only 45 minutes to enjoy dinner. That limited us to one course and one glass of wine, but our server, Kyle, really made it happen. His wine knowledge was excellent and pours were generous. Food was really prepared well with distinctive flavors and excellent presentation. WE will definitely go back, and request Kyle for service.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only problem was the openThe only problem was the open table reservation came into their system as the wrong time but they took care of us ASAP. Great food and great service. A+ review for this restaurant .4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOur servicer was outstanding. Our servicer was outstanding. We were there for a friend's birthday, and he went out of his way to make her feel special. It had been a while since we'd been to Parkside, but we will be back very soon. The food was excellent as always.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery dish was absolutelyEvery dish was absolutely divine. Parkside has become one of my favorite restaurants in town.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMloved the creativity and qualityloved the creativity and quality of the food. can't wait to come back on our next visit to Austin.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGo for the oystersA hidden gem of great food on the hustle and bustle of Sixth Street. Amazing, fresh and incredible selection of oysters. We shared multiple appetizers for a great meal. The crab fritters are suprisingly light and fluffy. Shrimp was tasty, but the star of the show was the oysters....blue points, shakespeare bay....Our waitress was informative, helpful and on the ball without being intrusive.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the nice oyster selectionLove the nice oyster selection and eclectic wine list. Would like to see more Texas wines.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to Parkside manyI've been to Parkside many times and am always impressed. My latest visit, however, was ruined by the waitress. She was rude, slow, and not very helpful. I would still recommend Parkside - I'm just a little bitter from my last experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food and service.Very good food and service. A bit noisy but the food more than made up for it.
The service was excellent, too. We loved the Pork Shoulder, Mac and Cheese and Kale Salad. The calamari was just OK. I would go again if I lived there and highly recommend it was a great place to dine. Only objection was the noise level by the bar but it was a fun people watching place to dine.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMTHe staff was very friendlyTHe staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our table was a few minutes late so when we sat down they gave us two sides to make up for the delay. They were very nice to my friend's baby who accompanied the group. On top of all that the food was superb.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBest oysters hands down andBest oysters hands down and their happy hour is fantastic3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA treat...Had a reservation on a Thursday night. We were seated promptly. Our server was helpful, but not intrusive. We shared the ribeye and the kale salad. Both were delicious and well plated. I had a violet cocktail that was the best cocktail I've ever had. Would and have recommended it to friends.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinnerVery enjoyable dining experience, from service to food. Our waiter was informative & helpful. We took several of his suggestions and not disappointed. I can highly recommend this as one of my favorite high end restaurants in Austin, don't miss!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceReserved very easy through OpenTable. Enjoyed the Oysters and NY Strip.... Definitely worth ordering....3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the fresh oysters, hadLoved the fresh oysters, had 2 dozen with champagne, oh what a wonderful Saturday in ATX.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMParkside continues to impress.Parkside continues to impress. I selected Parkside for my wife's B-Day dinner with 8 friends and Parkside knocked it out of the park. The drink orders were taken and served promptly (I had the Korean Spring #2 - best use of soju outside of Seoul), oysters were fresh, clean, and very tasty, salads/soups arrived at the right time (the beet salad was amazing), and everyone raved about their main courses (scallops were perfect and the wife had the bacon wrapped salmon - AWESOME!). Service was prompt, attentive, and very courteous. All of this while SXSW madness was going on outside and spilling into the restaurant.
Well done Parkside, well done. Thank you for staying one of my favorites in Austin.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a fabulous restaurantThis was a fabulous restaurant -- a gem in the middle of SXSW madness and all that BBQ and great Tex-Mex and Mexican food. Delicious oysters on the half shell -- is 3 dozen too many? I think not. Wonderful wine. And, a beautiful evening above the fray on their rooftop dining spot as enormous crowds walked 6th Street. Definitely a keeper. Loved it. Everyone in our party loved it. The service was terrific also especially considering that everyone in that restaurant had to be operating on minimal sleep.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Downtown Hot Spot!INCREDIBLE FOOD! Wide variety of eclectic offerings. We had several small plates and shared (had to have 2 orders of the blond pâté). Interrsting house cocktails and considering we were there during SXSW, the service was very good. Check this place out!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMVery interesting and cleverVery interesting and clever menu. If, like me, you're not much for oysters, don't let the emphasis on raw oysters scare you away. There are any number of excellent choices on the menu that don't involve oysters. We had ceviche, scallops, salmon, brussels sprouts, asparagus, and the basil ice cream dessert. Everything was outstanding. Our server, Steffi from Germany, could not possibly have been any more helpful, enthusiastic or friendly. Curiously, however, the service was kind of slow, but I'm confident that that was not Steffi's fault. I'm grateful to see anything on 6th Street that's not horribly cheesy and/or a chain, especially if it's an excellent, authentic, creative, world-class restaurant like Parkside.2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMParkside RestaurantWe had heard about the wonderful selection of oysters, and were not disappointed with a "chef's choice" combination of 3 different kinds (4 each). I had a beautifully done branzini as my main course. We were just visiting Austin, but when we do so again we will certainly pay another visit to Parkside. The neighborhood (6th Street) is also worth seeing for its tattoo parlors, bars and fine restaurants.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
