My work group loves to come to
your restaurant for the surroundings and love the lamb chops. The only negative we had this time was one of the orders the chops were undercooked so we had to send it back and I believe they brought her new chops. We all wanted to eat our meal hot so we went on ahead while she was waiting for her order to be brought back. We did have a birthday person and they presented her with a bowl of ice cream with a candle and beautiful serenade of Happy Birthday. We love to go there as a treat since it is about a 15 minute drive away from our work but well worth it for the food and the atmosphere."

GREAT FOOD AND GOOD SERVICE. mY
ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE NOISE FROM THE DISHES BANGING ON THE COUNTER BY OUR TABLE. I HAD THE SALMON AND OUR FRIENDS HAD THE HANGAR STEAK. bOSTON CREME PIE WAS GREAT"

A warm welcoming staff is just a
start. The wine list is amazing (though expensive), appetizers like calamari are very good. The Scallop salad and the Lamb chops are one of our favorites."

My boyfriend & I love going to
Parkside Grille for lunch. The service is very good - friendly, prompt, professional. The food is very good, although I must confess that I always get the same thing (linguini & clams). There's a reason for that; it's delicious!! My boyfriend always reads the specials on the board, considers each one carefully, then orders the warm spinach salad. Again, delicious! The restaurant is located far enough in the hills that you feel a million miles away. It is very relaxing to dine there."

You feel like you are getting away
in the country for this restaurant in the redwoods; rustic beams and white wood plank walss add to the atmosphere. The entrees at our table of 4 were all excellent including the mahi mahi with a delicious sauce, the lobster raviolis and the braised short ribs. Red beet and pear salad with arugula was big enough for two. They have a $20 corkage fee if your bring your own wine. Service was attentive. Our only complaint was the noise level. The open kitchen was fairly quiet but they are packing a lot of people into the restaurant at closely packed tables and thus the noise level is very high. However, every guest that we take here finds it enjoyable."

Food is good, usually
predictable! Tends to be slightly short staffed, and lack gluten free choices!"
Dined on 3/20/2014
We were a party of 5 seated at a
table in the bar. Our salads came before we finished or appetizers and our entrees came midway thru the salad course. Plates were not picked up when empty."

We have never had a bad meal at
The Park Side Grille. Many of our date nights are spent enjoying the warm and neighborhood bistro that serves up a savory mixture of California cuisine. A special destination for our family as well - our children love it as well."
Dined on 3/1/2014
We go here often and love the
place. The food and service are both excellent and the bar has a generous pour policy! We'll be back!"

We have been to Parkside Grille
many times and it never disappoints. That is why we choose to bring a couple we met in Calistoga last weekend from Australia here. The restaurant was very busy and very loud, but we had great service and great food. Our guests were very pleased with their Caesar Salad with dungeness crab. Three of us orders the New York Steak which was cooked just as ordered and a nice portion, the other in our group ordered the Lamb Chops and was very pleased. We will continue to dine at Parkside Grille and bring other guests."

As usual, we had a great dinner
with friends at Parkside Grille. Good food and drink with an upbeat atmosphere. Always a good time had."
Dined on 2/28/2014
The hostess with an attitude was
the only negative at this cozy neighborhood restaurant. Our server guided us to delicious salads and well-prepared main courses. My lamb chops were nicely seared and cooked to a rosy medium-rare. Our dessert choice of Boston cream pie was a yummy one. We will be going back soon."
Dined on 2/23/2014
We went there on her birthday. She
is a very selective eater and generally sticks to the meat and potato categories so the steaks and fries are at the top of her list. They also have decadent macaroni and cheese side dish with bacon, which is a must for pasta lovers."
Dined on 2/15/2014
My friend ordered one dish. When
it came, it looked far different from what was ordered. The waiter said it was what was ordered. When my friend pointed out that there were no scallops or shrimp in the scallops and shrimp dish and that the menu did not say it was in pasta, he went and checked. Obviously the dish was wrong. He got it fixed. He did realize his mistake and was friendly throughout. He also comped some extra wine so all was good."
Dined on 2/11/2014
It was a little too dark at some
of the tables. It was difficult to even see the person across the table. My particular "special" for dinner was not notable. It was not hot and the sauce very bland and nondescript. It was Gnocci with shrimp and a pink sauce. The rest of our party enjoyed their choices. Service was very good and attentive without being intrusive"

Enjoyed a casual lunch with
friends at the Parkside Grill. Nice relaxing setting, service staff were attentive, food and presentation very nice."

We dine at this restaurant quite
frequently. Our Birthday group usually ends up there for dinner. Food is very good and staff is very accommodating. Setting is in the woods and ambiance is very comfortable."
Dined on 12/19/2013
We had a top notched filet mignon
that was prepared just right. The wines were spot on. This was a memorable and delightful meal."
Dined on 12/21/2013
We always enjoy a delicious meal
here. A little too dark in the evening but overall great experience."
Dined on 12/19/2013
This was actually the 2nd time we
had dinner at the Parkside Grille. The service was excellent; however, our dinner selection was ready in 5 minutes, which we thought was a little strange. My companion ordered the Risotto whih came with leaves and very little Risotto. For $20.00, she was expecting more of the main entree and a little less of the leaves. That being said, the food was very tasty and was served hot."
Dined on 12/18/2013
If anything the service was too
fast - we had barely started sipping a glass of wine before our food appeared. Within an hour we were given the check although we had not been asked if we wanted coffee. Our waiter explained that he was new...this was his explanation of why he couldn't give us any more information about dishes other than what was printed on the menu. My suggestion would be that new waiters should be allowed to taste as many dishes as possible."
Dined on 12/14/2013
We were almost forgotten. It
appeared the waiters may have been new??? In any event they did not attend to us promptly, forgot to serve some food items that were ordered and generally were not available or visible. It delayed our stay significantly."
Dined on 12/10/2013
Every time we have a good
experience here. Food is consistently above average and service as well. Would not hesitate to go back."
Dined on 12/2/2013
Parkside Grill is my local
favorite. friendly, casual, and fun. lots of regulars. good daily specials, and good wine list. Bar is a good hang-out."
Dined on 11/21/2013
Disappointed for the first time at
my neighborhood place. The special was rigatoni w. crab. Found 3 tiny pieces of crab and LOTS of cream. Salads and desserts good, as always. Service great. Should have stuck to their usual menu."
Dined on 11/16/2013
We enjoyed the food but only
considered it fair. I would consider this a place to go if we wanted to take the kids b/c it seemed very kid friendly. I didn't think the food was as good as the price suggested it would be. It was very expensive for what we got."
Dined on 11/16/2013
Parkside was one of may favorite
places. I have to say, our service for our larger group (9), with plenty of warning for planning was really terrible. So sad to say but I would hesitate to try again."
Dined on 11/11/2013
Decent food, great atmosphere and
the setting gives the feeling of being miles from the urban city area and provides the peacefulness of nature."
Dined on 10/24/2013
We had visited the Parkside Grille
the week before and enjoyed it enough to return. We invited friends to "our favorite new restaurant" and had a lovely dinner a second time."
Dined on 11/8/2013
A great place to dine for
lunch...Friendly efficient service, great food, pleasant atmosphere with option of outdoor dining when the weather allows."
Dined on 11/5/2013
Excellent spot in beautiful area.
Good food. Very nice receptionist and waiter"
Dined on 11/2/2013
We've eaten here many times. The
quality of the food and service is good and reliable. Outdoor dining is very nice in appropriate weather, although yellow jackets can be a problem in the peak summer months. In busy hours, the noise level is moderately intrusive, but there are quiet areas in the restaurant, so specify your desire in that regard when making reservations. It's located in a small strip mall but is set in the redwoods and provides as nice ambience. The spinach salad with scallops is a favorite, as well as the salmon, and their California burger. The kitchen is responsive to special requests such as no salt in preparation of food, if your preferences or restrictions so dictate. Nice restaurant to have in the local community."

The Parkside is by far one of our
favorite places to eat ever. Everything on their menu is wonderful. The quality of the food and the service is the best. Bill the owner is so gracious and his staff is the same. We dine here at least three to four times a month. It is always good!"
Dined on 10/26/2013
I work for a VC on Sand Hill Rd. -
this place is a local favorite since it's so easy to get to and never insanely crowded. The food is simply fabulous - seasonal, fresh, inventive menu items. I just had the roasted beet, goat cheese, and baby greens with walnuts and citrus vinaigrette with fresh crab meat on top. It was fabulous! They kindly let us all share a glass of wine (we were celebrating a coworker's birthday) between two of us. Great French Provencal-style rose for just $10 a glass, too. Wonderful desserts and their Peruvian coffee is so rich and delicious - it's a must for after your meal!"
Dined on 10/23/2013
great little "out in woods" quiet
location. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals! Would recommend it to others and would go again! Thanks"

Best steak filet I've had in a
very long time. Thanks."

This restaurant has been around in
one form or another for decades. In its current version, it serves creative California cuisine in a peaceful setting. Excellent selection of great food. For outdoor seating, the cars on Portola Valley Road can be distracting at times, but otherwise it is quiet."
Dined on 10/17/2013
I've eaten at Parkside Grille many
times. It's excellent for lunch as well as dinner, and the setting in a small Portola Valley shopping center is only 5 minutes from the Sand Hill Rd exit of 280, yet seems very rural, peaceful and relaxing. In nice weather you can dine in their outdoor patio and even sometimes see deer in the meadow across Portola Road. The food is fresh, innovative and consistently good. They serve a small but strong list of wines, mainly from California. The wait staff is super-friendly, helpful with recommendations, and always accommodating. My only hesitation in recommending you to eat here is that I enjoy it as a little "getaway" that I don't want to become too crowded!!"

Fantastic special salad; brought
California to life on my plate! Extremely creative."
Dined on 10/15/2013
Although the food was good and
service adequate, we had requested a special table because we were celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary - I telephoned them and told them this. We were not given one and there was nothing special about the whole evening. We were not asked if we wanted coffee at the end of the meal, and on leaving no-one said "goodbye" and "thank you". We are not likely to go there again for a special event."
