Parker's Restaurant - Omni Parker HouseSpecial occasion lunch.Went to lunch for a special occasion. Eight family members attended with a wide range of ages. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Arrived a little early and were immediately seated. Were very accommodating to every special request.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMOST ACCOMODATINGWE HAD TO CHANGE OUR RESERVATION DUE TO TRAFFIC DELAY THE HOST WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND MADE US VERY COMFORTABLE. THE PRE THEATER DINNER HAD EXCELLENT CHOICES AND A GOOD PRICE. THE FOOD AND SERVICE WERE NOTHING LESS THAN I EXPECTED FROM THIS FINE OLD ESTABLISHMENT. THROUGHLY ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect celebration dinnerGreat service. Wonderful food. Everyone of the seven people in my group ordered a different entree and all were perfectly prepared.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA FAVORITE PLACEParker's Restaurant is one of our favorite places! Boston Cream Pie not so much?
Get the Chocolate Trilogy Torte!! Amazing4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTotally great dining experience.Dining at the Omni Parker House Restaurant was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Boston. We loved it all...the service, the ambiance and the food.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Omni ParkerI have been to Omni Parker house few times, everything was great. The service was good, but could be a little bit quicker. The food came out way to slow as I was in a French restaurant for a 5 course dinner. Hopefully next time when I go back it will be quicker. Other than that it was great.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNative Bostonian, first timeNative Bostonian, first time ever at this establishment and we were happy to eat here finally! We were given this visit as a gift from family and it was a very special experience. Everything was wonderful from the service to the food I had a Delmonico Steak suggested by our server and my wife had the filet mignon. Absolutemente, delicioso! We felt special here! Enjoyed the whole dining experience.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AM65th CelebrationWe came to Boston to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday. I spent a day in Boston two years ago and loved the look and feel of the City and wanted to return for a longer stay. My husband wanted to see Boston so I booked it and decided to stay in the hotel for dinner the day of our arrival which was his birthday. In this era of fast food and instant everything it was nice to sit down at tables with white table cloths and excellent wait staff. The prices were very reasonable for fine dining and the food was very good. I've never had scrod and this weekend I discovered what scrod actually is. Friday's scrod was excellent. We also had the buffet breakfast every day at the Parker House and it was excellent as well.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe steak that we had wereThe steak that we had were just right. Service was wonderful. The Parker roles were cold and hard. We asked and sure enough they were made in the morning. The server just rolled his eyes when we pointed this out. I could not eat the Boston Cream Pie due to the almonds on the sides. My husband ate this with me trying it in the center. It is really a mini cake with some cream in the center. It was dry with not much cream. I had the chocolate torte instead which was very good. One of the reasons we ate at the hotel was to try out the Parker roles and Boston Creme Pie. Was disappointed.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very well preparedThe food was very well prepared and presented. Steak was well prepared (medium rare as requested) and the best french onion soup I've had in ages. Lobster also wonderful. Service was as you would expect from a more expensive restaurant -- the right level of attentiveness. Only disappointment were the famous dinner rolls -- obviously reheated (so very dry).4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA Boston Brahmin Experience!I went here with a couple of friends from San Fran for lunch on a Tuesday. One of our party hadn't been to Boston before, so wanted to give him the full Boston experience. The food was very good if a bit on the pricy side (but Parker House is on the high end so it's not as if we didn't expect that.) Loved the Parker House rolls, the clam chowder and of course, the Boston Cream Pie for dessert. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend and I enjoyed theMy friend and I enjoyed the food immensely.
Filet Mignon was tender and tasty.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA dining experience in theA dining experience in the tradition of grand eating in an elegant setting that adds to the charm and pleasure of the fine dining we've enjoyed around the U.S. and abroad.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe appetizers and main courseThe appetizers and main course was excellent... Disappointed in the signature Parker house rolls and Boston Cream Pie.
Rolls were "flat" as if they were all stacked up...appearance not very appealing, but the taste was very good.
The Boston Cream Pie was not the original cake but looked more like a pastry and was served cold there given the appearance of being previously frozen. Very, very disappointing... Only had a couple of bites! However I would highly recommend it for it's ambiance and entrees and appetizers.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMParker House is one of Boston'Parker House is one of Boston' venerable dining locations. There were 4 of us and we all had different entrees (e.g. Filet, Scallops, Salmon, Haddock), and all were excellent. The sauces were top notch. The wait staff were obviously highly experienced professionals, who were courteous, polite, and knowledgeable. WE have also had brunch there previously and it was excellent as well.
The atmosphere is definitely higher end, with an older Boston elegance. If you like wood, they had lots of wood.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were excellent.Food and service were excellent. Only issue was the bus boy knocked over a glass with a a small amount of red wine which went all over my jacket and shirt. Said he was sorry.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOld world charmParker's is one of the last remaining institutions in Boston that provides old world service in an old world setting. Service is gracious, attentive and reliable. Dishes are well executed but don't expect anything with foams, unusual ingredients or fussy presentations. If you want a Shrimp cocktail or Delmonicao steak that brings back memories of the past, then this is the place for you. Dress up, leave the electronic devices at home and settle in for a quiet and romantic dinner or a family get together in a civilized environment.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal; excellentWonderful meal; excellent service; elegant atmosphere; reasonably priced given the level of the food, service and atmosphere,4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for a special occasionWe really enjoyed celebrating my daughter's birthday by having dinner at the Parker House. I had the scrod and my daughter had the Surf and Turf. Both dishes were delicious. I would suggest that more vegetables be added to the plates, though. The entrees are pricey, but worth it for a special occasion. The Boston Cream Pie we had for dessert was delicious. The waiter served it with chocolate covered strawberries, on "the house" as a birthday treat. This was a very nice touch. I would also like to mention that our assistant waiter, Ram, was fabulous. He was very attentive, courteous and friendly.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVery reasonably priced forVery reasonably priced for such a fancy restaurant. Bread was baked fresh and amazing!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice meal. Had clam chowder,Very nice meal. Had clam chowder, filet and key lime pie4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed the timeWe really enjoyed the time we spent here. The waiter was excellent and so was the food.
The choice of music could have been better. The restaurant is so classy and beautiful. The music should be classical to add to the ambiance.
Would definitely recommend.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMI would recommend this restaurantI would recommend this restaurant to people who enjoy excellent food and ambiance. The wine list was wonderful and the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Good Friday mealWe thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Parker House. The service was quite good and the food even better. Being Good Friday we both had fish dishes. My bride had their famous scrod and i had the scallops. We thoroughly enjoyed both dishes. We decided to endulge in desert sharing both the Boston Creme Pie and the carmel custard. They are small personal sized portions which were delicious and good for the waistline!!!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI came here for a RestaurantI came here for a Restaurant Week and was very pleased. The restaurant had a very classic ambiance in a beautiful hotel. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, which isn't something you normally see from a restaurant of this caliber, especially during Restaurant Week. Service was prompt, and the food was great. The smashed potatoes with bacon were a winner, the balsamic reduction with the steak was a great touch and perfectly sweet, and I highly recommend the legendary Boston Cream Pie! I had never had Boston Cream Pie that smooth and airy. I would come back for brunch when family comes to visit. It's also a great location for a fancier lunch downtown.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday dinner cOur party of three had a wonderful dinner; the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our server, Francesco, was the very best and truly made our evening memorable.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMYvnGreat place! Had a niceYvnGreat place! Had a nice night ....good food ,service And atmosphere. Glad I tried it . Would go again.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMPros: Good food, great service,Pros:
Good food, great service, good environment
Cons:
Expensive (but that's expected), somewhat dark, tables for two are larger than normal (you would be further away from your date making it harder to hear)3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic restaurant in a grandClassic restaurant in a grand old room reaped with tradition.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected pleasure!Very attentive wait staff from the head waiter to busser's. Filet mignon was probably the best ever experienced. Scallops were almost as fantastic, but still among the best prepared. Only 1 very slight "marr" was of some wilted / soggy lettuce in one of our salads, but certainly not enough to detract. Well prepared cocktails and good wine-list variety. Very tasty deserts. We haven't previously been to this restaurant, but we certainly intend on coming back.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service was fantastic; The food and service was fantastic; however, when actually exploring the hotel I found it rather creepy.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful old school restaurantWonderful old school restaurant with A-plus service. Eat, or drink, the Boston Cream Pie!2/6/2013 12:00:00 AMParker's at the Omni ParkerParker's at the Omni Parker House was an amazing treat that transports the diner to a time gone by. The beautiful chandeliers, brass railings and velvet upholstery gives the restaurants a sense of authenticity and a feel of a different era. The food is amazingly good for such a competitive area. Their signature dish of schrod was delicious and a must try item. The Boston creme pie is as authentic as it gets. The service was a bit slow and the host is all about business but well worth the time.1/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
