Additionally, the Boston Cream Pie tasted like it was previously frozen. I will not be returning, nor will I be bringing out of town guests with me to visit."

This is a romantic room where you can actually have real conversations. Service was impeccable. The maitre'd Michael was gracious and welcoming. Our waitperson, Lillian was extraordinary; she was warm and attentive without hovering, and it obviously mattered to her that we have a special evening. Everything that we ordered was delicious, beautifully presented and completely without pretense. If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or just dine in an atmosphere of grace and elegance, Parker's is the place to go!"

  • "Upon entering the elegant dining room, where countless notable celebrities, writers, and politicians have once dined, you are completely taken back to a glamorous time, as the breathtaking setting has not been altered. The breakfast buffet food was good, but could have used more variety for the price tag. I expected that we would receive fantastic service, but we had to constantly ask for something to be refilled or for simple items that should be given without question. I would go back again, perhaps just for their Boston Cream Pie, but other than that, I don't believe I would order a meal, given the service was lackluster for the incredible price that we ended up paying."

  • "Our party of three arrived about ten minutes early for our 6:30 reservation but were able to get seated promptly as the restaurant was quiet at the time. Parker's offers a 3-course prix-fixe pre-theater dinner menu priced at $39 for reservations in the 5:30 - 6:30 time period, and we all ordered from that menu. There is a choice of four starters, four entrees, and three deserts. The food was plated nicely, cooked to perfection, plus the portions were not skimpy at all. The service was excellent. Overall, it was a very fine dining experience."

I decided that we'd go for the ambience of a nice restaurant that would hopefully allow us a long, leisurely lunch with menu options that are a bit out of the ordinary. The service was great, the noise level was a bit high (lots of women chatting loudly), and the food was okay. It looked beautiful, but it lacked flavor. Overall, the restaurant has beautiful woodwork and you can feel the history, but they should work harder to serve excellent food in order to attract more than just tourists wanting to check out the Boston Crème Pie."

  • "You'll find a lot of diners here being guests of the hotel or tourists looking to taste the infamous Boston Creme Pie. I got the braised beef sandwich and the beef was sort of tough. My jaw actually got tired after chewing through the meat and bread so much. My boyfriend got the french toast which was excellent."

  • "we booked a reservation expecting a lovely and novel dining experience. The food was very disappointing, not fresh and not up to par for the prices. Service was poor, we had to flag down a server more than once. The bad part of it is that we were only one of maybe 5 other tables, so it certainly wasn't that busy. Overall experience was less than expected for the Parker House. I would not plan another visit to the restaurant based on this last experience."

  • "We were in town visiting family and our anniversary coincided so we decided to have an overnight downtown. Found the hotel online and read up on the history and saw pics of the beautiful restaurant. Decided it was a one stop place for all. We had made reservations and there was no wait. We were seated and immediately greeted with a smile and our menus. We decided on a bottle of wine and was given time for our selections. The environment was amazing, service was excellent and the food was fabulous. Would highly recommend to anyone."

  • "The ambience was old and refined just as you would expect. The food is actually reasonably priced and the portions are good sized and not over the top. The wine list is solid and priced appropriately as well. Our table had a variety of starters ranging from salads to chowder to shrimp and all were tasty and served as requested. The entrees also ran the gamut from filet to scallops to salmon and all were cooked to order and tasty. For desert a sampling of key lime and Boston Creme Pie were served and not a morsel was left. A nice touch by the waiter was a gift of chocolate covered strawberries that were fresh. For wine we had a Malbec of which two bottles were enjoyed. The only complaint is that we were deluged by small flies of some sort."

The food is good, the décor is charming, but what really makes this restaurant a standout is the excellent service. Even though it was a buffet, not only my server, but additional wait staff were attentive to my every need. BUT...what they call Parker House rolls do not resemble the ORIGINAL at all...these are little fat soft grocery store diner rolls..what a disappointment. Kitchen should look at youtube videos for a lesson on how to make Parker House Rolls with their distictive fold! Boston Cream pie so gussied up with nuts and coconut it was unrecognizable....although tasty....not what I was looking forward to on this visit. Ate at breakfast buffet two mornings as well; nice selection."

  • "You have not experienced historic Boston without a dinner at Parker's Restaurant. The cocktails are wonderful and the food is quintessential New England. The Boston Baked Scrod is not to be missed. The menu also has wonderful Starters from seared Foie Gras to Oysters, and of course classic New England Clam Chowder. All this starts with the iconic Parker House Rolls -- light, delicious, and warm out of the oven. Ending the night is Boston Cream Pie! It does not get much better. Therev is also a theatre menu for those that desire dinner before a play / musical. For anyone visiting Boston for the first time, or someone that wants to re-connect to Boston heritage, there is no finer way than a dinner at Parker's."

There was a convention at the hotel and they were probably having a convention meal. Otherwise, it was a very nice meal. Maybe a little on the pricy side and service could have been a little quicker. The food was delicious."

  • "We were concerned about the ratings we found on OpenTable and other sites but decided to go anyway because of its atmosphere and because of its rich history. What a great choice! I believe this is the most impressive dining room we've ever seen. I would call the menu "traditional" and possibly somewhat "Old School" but do we always need foam and exotic ingredients on every restaurant meal? The bottom line is that everything was delicious. Our waiter, Francesco, was a consummate professional from Calabria. He was as knowledgable, personable and helpful as can be. Even our busboy excelled, performing his tasks inconspicuously and appearing from nowhere to diplomatically retrieve my lobster claw which had eluded my grip. Don't miss it!"

The servers were so very attentive and the lobster was the best my son/husband/daughter have had !! Try the filet mignon...melts in your mouth. And the creamy vinegarette dressing which is the chef's creation, is nothing short of a miracle. And of course, don't forget those Parker House rolls.   • "We went to The Parker House because I have always made Parker House rolls AND to celebrate our daughter's graduation. The rolls were amazing as was the rest of the dinner. We had salmon that was excellent (and we're from Seattle), steak and lobster (the steak was rated as the best our daughter had ever had and the lobster was perfect), scallops (succulent and huge and delicious), and veal (wonderful). Wine was perfectly paired. Our waiter was the epitome of charm and grace. Thank you for a perfect evening Omni Parker House! "

  • "If you go before 6:30 pm, there is a pre theatre menu of 3 courses for $38. We had the clam chowder which was excellent and served really hot the way soup should be. The steak portion was larger than the size indicated on the menu and cooked as requested. The service was excellent. Of course, we had Boston cream pie for dessert. The menu choices are perhaps considered old-fashioned by some but the food was excellent."

  • "So, why not? We had been to their brunch on a previous visit three years ago so knew what to expect. The hotel is very nice. They have good choices of cocktails and wines by the glass. But, the food is ordinary and overpriced. In that area of the city, just northeast of the Common, it isn't easy to find a good place on OpenTable. Chowder, iceberg wedge and french onion soup were all good. Schrod, branzini and scallops were all okay. No expectations, no disappointments. A lot of food, our party of four each split two servings of the Boston cream pie."

My daughter had the salmon and it was a bit better but nothing exciting. The Parker house rolls and Boston cream pie were good and probably the reason we ate there in the first place."
